What is your motivation for applying?:
  • Although it may be deemed as the typical response, it’s the only way I feel is appropriate to express my desire for exploring the different aspects of delinquency roleplay within the server. For the most part of my roleplay experiences, I have been on the offensive side and indulged in the typical gang roleplay which has over time taken a range of numerous changes over the years but simply, I wish to experience something else; Karakura Police Department. Over the years, I have not only witnessed but experienced the large wave of changes in gang roleplay and grasping the knowledge of criminal activity, I feel like this gives me some form of advantage, an upperhand of what I could be expecting when on the force. I feel like I have seen and done it all, which is what really drives me to this application as of current. This branch of roleplay will not only expand on my knowledge but also my roleplay technique and style and face me with a challenge, a fresh start which can only do me good with the amount of determinism I’m ready to throw your way.

What knowledge do you have of Police Work?
Evidently, I don’t have much experience within the role of police work, this doesn’t exactly stop the time I took to prepare in knowledge for this role. Not to mention, being active within previous gang roleplay, I managed to carefully observe situations which had involved the KPD, rather it be patrolling or manhunting around the city which must be done both quickly and efficiently, taking numerous precautions and being good at communication, whilst keeping in mind you could potentially be outnumbered or have the situation turn rather swiftly, which is when your radio would come in helpful which gives you the opportunity to reinforce back-up or get other officers to check CCTV around a specific area, pinpointing the location which you are, or may need to even go scope out if a crime has been committed. Sadly, there still is the possibility that the camera misses the altercation, in which there is not much you can do about such things, apart from if the officer was wearing a body camera at the time of the situation.

But to really expand on my knowledge, I’m aware that there is a large amount of responsibilities and activities that officers need to upkeep on a regular daily basis as maintaining the city and keeping crime at the low takes a sheer amount of focus and cannot be taken briefly, even simply remaining at the front desk can be important as you must always be alert, preparing for anything that may happen; thus you must be available and flexible with your time. Desk work means you simply cannot go AFK (away from keyboard) and simply sit there, you must upkeep a range of tasks such as handling bails which must be taxed off. There is also the opportunity of lockdowns, which usually occurs when a raid occurs in the police station, or when people are reluctant to leave after being warned, or when there is a potential threat within the building.

Officers patrol frequently around the city, this gives them the opportunity to be aware of certain areas around the city which may have the reputation of being considerably more dangerous than others. Crime could be occurring absolutely anywhere, even right under your nose which means you could be awaiting a dangerous situation at any given second.

As I previously mentioned briefly, CCTV work is also quite important. CCTV is spread out amongst the city which allows officers to access and grasp an advantage of a situation if there is an altercation occurring. This is typically done through an action of a ‘/me’ rather than actually being able to access a camera, and provided with screenshots of the situation within reach of a camera. CCTV grants surveillance at officers' disposals, although if a camera is on a private property, there is the chance of manipulation.

Obviously, arresting/detaining/fines are also a major part to say the least, of being an officer. These all connect to each other eventually through various aspects. When fineing an individual for something i.e. ‘jay-walking’, they must pay up front. However, if they refuse to pay their fine, they can be handcuffed and arrested which then may result in a time of community service whereas detaining someone is the act of when an individual is being suspected of a crime, it is important to remember that you cannot arrest an individual until you have evidence of your suspicions and claims against them. Until then, they remain with the police and will face questioning.

I will briefly go over a few considerable ranks within the police force which I have knowledge on.

Police Commissioner is the highest achieving rank within the police force, they have power to demote and promote any officers as they like, being in complete control and command, acting as chief constables, allowing the force to be answerable to the general public.

Police Captain is a role which faces many similarities to the commissioner role, although captains usually plan, direct, supervise and coordinate lower divisions within the police force efficiently, carrying out operations which are similar to the commissioners, however it will still remain supervised by them instead.

Detective Superintendent is the highest ranking Detective there is, This rank is The Head Detective in most words, They’re in charge of the Detectives, on how they’re ran, They have the power to give files/cases to those beneath them, They’re also able to remove files/cases.

Detective Chief Inspector is the next Major promotion a Detective could possibly receive, As they are in charge of the more complex side of cases, such as gang’s and the leader’s of such gangs, This rank would most likely build up an evidence case against any sort of gang they can find dirt on, once they have found enough, they’ll get a raid party on said gang.

Detective Inspector is a role which is explanatory within its name, they involve themselves within police investigations, collecting any intel and evidence that comes with said situation, overall they aim to help solve the crime, pinpointing where it started and how it ended.

Detective Constable
is the lowest rank of the Detective ranks, they are the Trainee’s of the section, They get taught how to be a Detective, How to properly do situations, scenes, and use their equipment to their advantage, once they’ve been successfully taught how to be a Detective they’ll go through a test, if they pass they’ll move on to Detective Inspector.

Police Lieutenant is known as a higher up rank which one can achieve within the main division of police work. They are the head of both physical and information training, typically looked up to as a leader for those who are still within a lower rank. They are responsible for geographic patrol and detective divisions which supervise patrol sergeants, officers, detectives who regularly suppress crime.

Police Sergeant is known as a higher up rank, they are responsible for scene management of crime, guarding detainees and supervising investigations which are being carried out by their officers. When this rank is achieved you then have the opportunity to rent out patrol bikes and a glock-17 to use within situations that are dangerously ranked.

Police Corporal officers are usually a supervisor position which means they are able to train the lower ranked officers which have minor experience in comparison within the faction, they must career out the higher-up tasks to the lower ranking employees, as well as answering and responding to any dispatch calls they may receive.

Patrol Officer is the next rank up, similar to the working of a cadet; however they are assigned to patrol certain areas of the city in order to prevent criminal activity and maintain a certain peace amongst civilians. They may also handle arresting/detaining/fining individuals when necessary alongside searching, patting down etc.

Police Cadet is the lowest rank within the department, an officer trainee has to undergo training in order to see if they qualify for the criteria to work their way up to different ranks, which involves being committed to simple tasks such as evidence logging, handling fails, desk work. Any form of patrol work must be accompanied by another officer of a higher rank.

Items that may be used frequently by the Karakura Police Department include the use of a crowbar, using it to pry open doors, objects etc. which can’t be opened or moved by the use of their own hands.

Pepper spray is also of use where an individual does not comply within situations, or where an officer may be at risk of danger when the attempt to neutralise a situation has failed them. This may cause a burning sensation and temporary blindness.

A X26-taser can be used when a suspect is running away from officers or overall not being compliant when they’re trying to be detained. This is a ranged item which shoots dart-like electrodes, connected to the main conductors. Overall, it shocks the individual.

However, the most lethal weapon that an officer may use within the force is a glock-17, which is a lethal weapon which is only used within life-threatening situations. This is used to immobilise an individual which may be trying to critically harm an officer or another individual, or could even be used to disarm them. Although this is a lethal weapon, it can also shoot rubber bullets to inflict non-lethal shots.

Why is the Police important to SchoolRP?

Police work is important within the server for the entirety of the same reasons which are valid within the real world. Police work is used in order to keep crime at an all time low, prevent the crime waves from spreading and keep a certain balance within the community. Unlike regular statistics, Karakura is a city where crime is at an extreme, criminal activity happens a lot more often than it would typically within the real world; especially in more gruesome ways. Officers have the duty to prevent crime, ensuring innocent civilians aren’t affected by criminal activities; such as mugging, scramming, physical fighting, or even worse; manslaughter. As GangRP takes up quite a large portion of the server, this faction keeps crime in check within the server, without it… Karakuras would be corrupted entirely, and civilians would not be considered safe.

Do you acknowledge that you're subject to being demoted if accepted at any given time?
I understand completely.

Do you acknowledge that by applying for this role, you are agreeing to be 100% dedicated to the Police Officer role?
Yes, I do. I lack other roles within the server, so my entire focus will be dedicated towards the role of a police officer completely.

Do you acknowledge that if training is held whilst you are online, you are needed to attend or you will be punished?

Yes, I understand.

SECTION 1: CHARACTER INFORMATION

Character's Full Name:

Bong-Cha Tachitsu
Character's age (if accepted):
25

Character's gender & pronouns:
Female
She / Her / Hers

Character's Academic Background
(Grade-12/Bachelors/Masters/PhD):

PhD in Criminal Psychology
Masters in Criminal Justice

What languages are you proficient in besides Japanese?
Korean and Spanish

Describe your character; how they look, what makes them unique?
Bong-Cha is a young woman who stemmed averagely beautiful, complimented by her soft facial features which her hair framed almost perfectly, standing at roughly five foot seven. She had soft, honey-like skin which showed progressive signs of maturity as she grew older. Typically, she tried to fall within the recurring theme set within Karakura of being more on the slim figured side of things, although the development of her muscles was prominent. Occasionally, she adorned a simple-cat eyeliner just a-top of her lid, which only made her light brown eyes stand out even more which adacented one freckle on her left iris. Unfortunately, she wasn’t that expressional within her emotes and usually remained with an unreadable expression, even if she was in the most relaxed state.

How does your character act in a professional/casual situation?
During a professional setting, Bong-Cha displays herself with professionalism and civility, she is a rather tame individual which is further advantageous to situations with her unreadable expressions. Bong-Cha works with pure stern and driven determinism in order to obtain the best outcome with her duties as an officer, following simple everyday procedures when she’s put into situations which may be daunting to an individual. Even in calmer situations, Bong-Cha may be considered more sociable however; she still lacks the overall bubbly personality of socialism that one may usually sink into around others, however the downside to remaining in such a timid, calm state so often can result in short outbursts of her temper being tested, which can sometimes get the best of her. This means she may raise her voice or use profanity often within her speech. Other than this, she has a strong focus and usually keeps to herself.

What is their outlook on the idea of co-workers & teamwork?
Teamwork is quite important when it comes to the workforce, Bong-Cha understands the importance of mutual respect and communication in order to make good calls of judgement and this is even more important in order to sustain a close and open relationship between her co-workers and superiors. Communication allows work to be done quickly and efficiently, being able to upkeep daily tasks. Although Bong-Cha is fine with her independent work, she is much aware that she can rely on other officers in the department as they’re reliable and dependent. She strives to gain the trust of her co-workers, grasping at any attempt for friendship. In her eyes, they aren’t just co-workers but instead like a second family where strong bonds must be created overtime.

Do you see yourself as a leader or a follower? Why?
Immediately, yes. I thrive on being independent within tasks as usual however I do enjoy supporting and being of use to others, knowing I may be able to help them within their work or whatever they may need. It takes courage and integrity to become a leader, which I pride myself on, however; nobody's perfect. I’ll learn more as I go and that’s what I hope to show you as an officer. I will take charge if need be without hesitation and will take others under my wing. Although let this not be mistaken for trying to over-rank others, but simply as determinism instead.

BACKSTORY (100+ words)

Bong-Cha is an individual with your regular lifestyle, nothing entirely chaotic. She was originally born within Korea and raised by her mother and father, although she lacked siblings, she was rather close with her cousins who were a few years younger than her. In her childhood, she had originally proffered documentaries and crime shows rather than cartoons. She often indulged in these interests with her cousins on the weekends, which further drove her desire to learn more about law enforcement and criminal psychology. Being a family oriented person, Bong-Cha was also driven to take others under her wing, a protective instinct if you will, which would later come into place with her career path. During her high-school years she did face the typical rebellious stages, delinquency.. Not everybody's perfect, we all have stages where we fall out of line, typical teenage behaviour. She strayed away from sporting and other popular choices of extra curriculars. However come around college, she got back in touch with her old self.

The decision to study abroad in Nagoya, Japan was the way to go, a rid of all distractions and focus on herself entirely. Bong-Cha enrolled in college classes within both psychology and criminology, which further resulted in her PhD in Criminal psychology and a masters in criminal justice.

Although the crime is everywhere, she was aware that more places had a higher crime rate than others, places that needed more determined officers which is what struck her to tour around countries, finding a new place that felt like home, a place that needed her, a decision that finalised her move to Karakura, Japan. Although it would typically fall into the lines of the lack of family members within Karakura... Bong-Cha does in fact still stay in touch with hers, calling at the end of the week in order to fill them in about their weekdays!

SECTION 2: GENERAL KNOWLEDGE

Can you legally own a pocket knife in Karakura?

No. A pocket knife is considered a minor weapon however it can cause lethal damage. If found on an individual, they will be charged and arrested.

Name 5 medical items that do NOT require a prescription
Birth control, Paracetamol, Cough Syrup, Bandaids, Lactulose.

If you see your co-workers physically abusing an inmate, what should you do?
As it comes most obviously, stopping the co-worker would be the choice to make. It would be important to keep a level head in this situation, informing a higher up about what you’ve witnessed or are concerned about. Although the police are ones to enforce the law, it doesn’t mean they’re entirely above it.

What should you do if you see your co-worker being assaulted?
Like my previous answer, it would be an obvious and important answer to step in, however before doing so, keep a level head and assess the situation. What I mean by this is, if you believe that the situation could result in major damage or end up being outnumbered, immediately call for backup and emergency services for standby and step into the situation to be of help. You must be aware of the risk that you never know how potentially dangerous a situation can get. Once the situation is tamed, the individual must be cuffed and arrested, charging them with assault against an officer.

What do you do if you find out that your co-worker is corrupt and is helping criminal organisations?
Report it. Although this may not be as easy as it seems in certain situations, you may not know who to trust at first but it is a risk you must be willing to take. I’d try to gather evidence of my claim, ensuring it is considered acceptable before reporting it to my higher up. Evidence may come in the form of audio files, video recordings, photographs, text messages etc.

How would you react to a criminal trying to bribe you?
I would fine the individual as bribery is a fineable offence. If they are reluctant to pay said fine, then they will be arrested for refusal to cooperate and would likely be sent to spend time in community service.

DENIED
After having carefully reviewed your applications, the higher-up team
has decided to unfortunately deny your application to join our faction.

We appreciate your efforts and your motivation to join our faction, but
we have made this decision based on the following reason(s)

COMPETITION
-
Due to the vast amount of applicants that try their best to get into the
faction, we sometimes have to deny good applicants because there are
others that have been deemed as better choices, whether it's due to
server reputation or due to the detail that was put to their application.

REPUTATION
- A decisive factor that influences our decision is server reputation. We tend
to pick players who have been in the server for a while, and that have a
relatively clean history. We suggest applying for other factions / community
teams to improve how other players see you and boost your chances at
becoming part of our faction!

ADDITIONAL NOTES
If you need further assistance, you can privately message
