Laurance Matsuda was born in Asakusa, Tokyo, to a wealthy family. His dad was half-Russian and mom full Japanese, having met on business terms as a merger between both their family's companies. His family owned a large business, one which managed many luxury shopping malls in large cities. Being born to the CEO of the Matsuda corporation would heavily influence Laurance later on in his life, as he would be raised with the idea that he would later take over the company in mind. From a young age, Laurance was bombarded with mentally stimulating games and private lessons to allow him to excel beyond his peers, even before having been registered in school. Even though he was cared for financially, and his parents did seem to care heavily about his education, they were never present physically, let alone emotionally. Laurance rarely made contact with his parents even in his growing ages, having been taken care of almost completely by maids and nannies.
6-10yrs
After starting school, Laurance excelled at his studies and quickly became top of his class. While this may seem like a good thing, his achievements only raised the bar for his parents, making them even more critical of his grades. Laurance worked tirelessly every night to appease to his parent's wishes, and even then, they were still hardly present in his life. Around the age of 10, Laurance got tired of the seemingly endless neglect of attention from his parents and decided to take action. He became more lenient in his studies and decided to not mind his grades and activity, surely this would make his parents notice him.
11-15yrs
In this period of Laurance's life, he would have started hanging around the school troublemakers. He had let go of his studies almost entirely, in an effort to finally have his parents attention. When his parents didn't care enough to personally talk to him about his feelings, and instead only forced him into more supplemental lessons and demanded that he stop being stubborn, Laurance had had his last straw. He started to spiral into true delinquency at the start of high school, hanging out with peers who were in violent gangs. Laurance was now at the bottom of his class, not because he was incapable of doing the work, but out of sheer spite. He didn't want to follow his parent's orders if they weren't planning on actually being present in his life. Laurance was involved in school bullying, gang activities, and overall violent and scummy behavior, being a playboy toying around with different girls every so often. However, one day he dropped it all completely out of nowhere. He distanced himself from his friends and started keeping to himself, realizing that despite his frustrations with his parents, being in an active gang lifestyle wasn't for him. Soon after Laurance took to basketball to distract himself from his emotions and stressful home life, he would keep on getting into fights again, though less frequently and at a smaller scale than before. His reputation at his previous high school already being established as a playboy and delinquent, people often made comments about how unfortunate it was that he was the Matsuda group CEO's son acting the way he did.
16-present(18)yrs
He got a yakuza-style tattoo sleeve on his left arm during this time, as well as his spider lily tattoo under his right ear. With the talk about Laurance's activity being spread, his parents decided to send Laurance away from the city and to Karakura, where they thought he would be distanced from his crowd and hopefully regain the will to improve in his studies once again and take over his father's place as the CEO to move back to the city. That was not how Laurance would take this though, his nature of being a playboy and troublemaker wouldn't change and he would continue this lifestyle at a smaller scale in the small town of Karakura.
