BACKSTORY:
Lilian's mother made the difficult decision to leave her husband shortly after Lilian was born. She explained to him that she couldn't take care of her anymore because she was constantly exhausted. This decision took a toll on Lilian's father, who turned to heavy drinking as a means of coping. For many years, Lilian never saw her father sober until she reached the age of 10. To her surprise, he began taking better care of himself and actively addressed his drinking problem.
One day, Lilian woke up to the sound of the front door opening and closing. Curiosity got the best of her, and she peeked outside to see her father dressed up, heading towards his car. Wearing her blue bunny slippers, Lilian hopped on her bike and pedaled after her father's car. Eventually, she hid behind another car with her bike and watched a familiar woman approach her father's car. In shock, Lilian witnessed her father stepping out of the car, opening the door for the woman in the red silky dress, and driving off together.
Determined to uncover the truth, Lilian followed them to a fancy establishment that resembled a restaurant. She parked her bike next to the building, walked inside, and approached her father and the woman. Confused and emotional, Lilian questioned her father about his presence and the identity of the woman in the red dress. The woman appeared surprised and tried to engage with Lilian, but her father admitted that he didn't want to introduce Lilian to her like this. He uttered a few incomprehensible words before delivering devastating news: the woman was Lilian's mother.
Overwhelmed by the revelation, Lilian couldn't process the situation. Feeling disconnected from reality, she decided to return home, riding her bike and locking herself in her room. Just as she was about to reach her street, she heard a loud crash behind her. Her father's car had been rear-ended by a black vehicle, followed by the arrival of another black car. Masked individuals wearing all-black clothing emerged from the cars, screaming in a language Lilian recognized as Korean or Japanese. These individuals forcibly pulled her father out of his car with his hands raised innocently.
One of the men noticed Lilian and approached her, speaking to her in English. He coldly threatened her, warning that if she spoke to anyone, he would kill her and her father. After issuing the threat, he yelled in another language, prompting everyone to quickly return to their cars and speed away. Lilian's mother rushed out of her car to comfort Lilian, and they held each other, crying uncontrollably. Her mother immediately called the police to report the kidnapping, and they arrived promptly, asking questions and ultimately driving them to a safer location—Lilian's mother's house.
Upon arriving at her mother's house, Lilian learned that she had a half-sister, who was already asleep in bed. Due to the lack of extra beds, Lilian chose to sleep on the couch. They were interrogated by the police once again but to no avail. Six years had passed since her father's kidnapping, and when Lilian turned 13, she decided to take self-defense classes. Her half-sister, Kira, constantly tried to forge a connection with Lilian, but her efforts were in vain. Lilian remained distant from both her half-sister and her mother, only speaking to them when absolutely necessary.
On Lilian's 18th birthday, she made the life-altering decision to travel to Japan to uncover the truth behind her father's abduction. Kira, driven by the desire to protect Lilian, chose to accompany her on this journey. They settled in Japan, joined a gang, and dedicated themselves to training relentlessly in order to find those responsible for her father's disappearance.
