Backstory: When Liyla was only 5 her mother left her alone on the beach. After her mothers boyfriend had a tantrum and in the process of that cut Layla's arm open with a piece of glass from a lightbulb that was in a lamp. Liyla's birth father had died before Liyla was born. This left Liyla a orphan at a very young age. She was put into a group home. At the age of 12 a older couple adopted Liyla into their home, Liyla never really thought of them as family, but more as caretakers. As Liyla got older her caretakers discussed sending her away though a scholarship to the school of Karakura. So when Liyla turned 14 they sent her off too join the school through a scholarship program. Liyla got news a couple months after moving that both her caretakers had died in a car accident. After she found out, Liyla decided to stay in the town of Karakura. She dropped all contacts and fell off the radar of everyone she had known before (Her caretakers friends mainly.). She stays in a group home with some other people and has been working hard to stay where she is now, even though the scholarship was cancelled after her guardians passed away, she has been able to support herself on her own. The court agreed on this decision and she is treated as an adult in there case, she proved herself capable of taking care of herself, so she lives on her own with no family, fell into depression over the past year and has been fighting to keep up with everything, but she can do it, because she has too.
