Backstory: Lloyd Montgomery, son of Jason and Misako Montgomery,
Born beneath the sweeping skies of Lawrence, Kansas, Lloyd Montgomery’s life began with the promise of something bright—but like all storms, darkness came early.

When Lloyd was just eight years old, his father walked out. No explanation. No goodbye. Just gone. The echo of that silence carved a hole in Lloyd’s heart that never quite healed. His mother, overwhelmed and distant, did what she thought was best—she sent him away.

Lloyd spent the next four years at a boarding school miles from home. The halls were cold, the teachers colder. Loneliness was a constant companion, and anger became his armor. When he was twelve, the pressure finally snapped. One reckless night, fueled by rage and desperation, he started a fire that raged through most of the school. No one was hurt—but the building never recovered.

Neither did his relationship with his mother.

She wanted nothing more to do with him after that.

But one person did.

His Great Uncle Daichi, a former martial artist and war veteran, stepped in—not with pity, but with purpose. He took Lloyd in and offered him something no one else had: discipline, direction, and strength. Daichi ran a traditional dojo on the edge of town, and Lloyd, at first reluctant, eventually gave in. And what started as therapy soon became transformation.

Lloyd trained harder than anyone. He needed it. He wasn’t just fighting opponents—he was fighting the past.

By fourteen, Lloyd was the dojo’s top student. His speed, precision, and intensity earned him the name “The Green Dragon”—a title he wore with quiet pride. He crushed tournament after tournament, never once losing his focus. Victory was his voice when words failed him.

But as he grew older, so did the weight of his past. Kansas held too many memories—burned bridges and broken promises. So, at sixteen, with Daichi’s blessing, Lloyd left for a new city, seeking peace or, at the very least, a fresh start.

He moved to Karakura.

At first, it was just another place. New faces. New routines. Same pain buried under the surface.

But then he met Haruka.

She was unlike anyone he’d ever met. Fierce, bold, and bright—a storm of emotion wrapped in a quiet fire. Lloyd didn’t know it at first, but meeting her changed the course of his life. For the first time, he found himself smiling not just for show, but because something felt right.

Now eighteen, Lloyd still carries his scars—some visible, most hidden. He still trains. Still walks the shadows as a silent protector. But he’s no longer alone.

Haruka sees the real him—the pain, the past, the promise. And in her eyes, he’s not just the Green Dragon.

He’s Lloyd Montgomery—a fighter, a survivor, and a boy learning what it means to truly live.
