What is your motivation to apply for reporter?:

I've been eyeing the reporter applications for a while now. I've always had an eye for report writing, and how a reporter is able to stay neutral in a topic even if reporting controversial or inhumane news, especially the switches between their ‘On Air’ personalities to their real personality. I’ve also always had a hobby for writing, I sometimes get too into it when researching topics and end up hopping from one topic to a sub-topic in order to understand the whole web of the topic.

Do you have any experience with writing? What is your relationship with writing?:

Like I’ve mentioned previously, I’ve always had a hobby for creative writing – well, just writing in general. I’ve won a couple awards in Highschool for some of my creative writing essays, which im pretty proud of. I currently think I possess a good relationship with writing, always researching new words to add to my vocabulary and trying to correctly use them within my writing. Another thing I tend to do is heavily edit my work every day, so that way when its completely finished – It turns out the best it can.

Are you aware of - and will follow - the set of rules provided to you?:

I am well aware of the rules provided, and am prepared to follow them as well.

Why should we accept you over others?:

This was always a question I used to find hard to answer, constantly asking myself, “Do I make myself sound like the best candidate, whilst answering with slightly generic reasons whilst also risking sounding like two-dimensional side character, or do I bring myself down from my pedestal and be honest? Well, why not both?

I’ll be honest, I’d be a great candidate for a new member in the reporting faction. Not only am I extremely active on the server, I also write a lot. Like a lot.

Wherever I am, I like to write, whether it be on a bus or in the classroom and sometimes even in the shower, I’m always writing or thinking about ideas to write about. New story narratives, new what-ifs, new perspectives. I would like to assume that is a good quality, unless it isn’t and I sound crazy admitting it.

Another part of my redeeming qualities is my ability to yap, and yap and yap. At first, this would be an annoying trait to possess, right? But what if I mold it into an advantage? I’ve always talked a lot and will continue to do so, since it allows me to quickly switch topics and conversations quickly, which translated into allowing me to quickly switch between writing genres and such. So sure, being a fat yapper might be a negative. But only If you make it so.

Now, my not so amazing qualities.

Procrastination, possibly one of the hardest but easiest things to overcome. Whilst being a procrastinator often leaves me finishing chores, favours, work and assignments till the past possible minute, I’ve also started to push past it. So that’s one problem, what about the rest?

Without venting, I’ll say this one very simply. My Mental health Issues, they aren’t severe, but they aren’t light.

Immaturity is one of my negative qualities, which I’m also progressing past.

I could go on all day listing both sides of the coin, but at the end of the day: No man, woman or being is perfect. We are flawed peoples and will continue to be.

Do you understand you have to stay completely neutral with all reports? (Your report can't have any OOC or IC bias towards a specific group.)

I understand that I have to stay completely neutral within all of my reports, and will make sure to constantly check my tone, view and how it could possibly be interpreted.

Do you trust that you will be able to stay active and complete the monthly quota?:

I trust and will promise to do my absolute best to be active unless I am having problems, which I will most indefinitely let a higherup now. I also trust I will be able to complete the monthly quota, and if not, I am ready to take any repercussions for my negligence.

Summarise what you imagine work as a reporter is:

In my mind, work as a reporter comes across as a creative job. Reporters often have to come up with new, innovative ideas to present their findings whilst maintaining a neutral tone and making sure no hint of bias can be found within their work.

I imagine that work as a reporter will have me constantly challenging myself, what topic can I talk about? What topic can I reinvent? What topics should I wait till I’m more experienced? How should I present this topic?

With simple reports starting at minor things such as a weather report, a question to challenge the citizens of Karakura and their thinking skills. Other reports could be new shop openings and what’s the talk of town, whilst more serious topics could be delving into the crime rates of a small town whilst interviewing citizens, government workers, police officers and the fellas down at the hospital. Now, correct me if I’m wrong. But a reporters work seems to be mainly about voicing the opinions of the public rather than the reporters own personal opinions.

IC (In-Character) Information:
Treat this section like it is your own character answering it

Full Name:

Seren entered the room quietly, the turn of the doorknob almost inaudible if one wasn’t listening quietly to it, her manicured hands curl around the handle before gently closing it. It was almost amazing how quiet she moved, it was even worse whenever she snuck up on other people. Not that she did it on purpose.

Soft clicks sound across the floorboards, each press of her foot strong, and deliberate. Seren liked to have a certain look about her, one of control. Her movement is halted to a stop right Infront of the interviewers table, Seren greets them with a simple, “Good morning, it is a pleasure to meet you.” She arches her spine into a bow as she speaks, before slowly raising herself and waiting for the interviewer to nod at the chair that had been prepared for all the interviewee’s.

In one fluid movement, she brushes off her coat and placed it pointedly atop of the chairs back with much care, but little to no effort. Her hands grip the back of the chair, pulling it back a notch so she was able to quickly slide into the uncomfortable material of hardwood, she shifts about for a moment before crossing a leg over the other – her right foot tapping softly against the leg of her own chair. Seren waits for further instruction, her arms layed atop of her lap with a shining, diamond bracelet catching light. A few minutes pass as she awaits the interviewer to prepare themselves, and when the first question is finally proposed, she answers with a strong voice – although her Japanese is not the best, it is still obvious what she is saying, “My name is Seren Gundogu.”

"My name? It is Seren Gundogdu, pleased to meet you." She finishes her sentence with a polite nod, her lips curving upwards with a respectful smile.

Preferred Name/Nickname and Title (e.g., Ms, Mr)

Seren continues from her previous statement, a respectable notion of inclusion being presented, “However, I do find most find difficulty within pronouncing my name. So, I have no issue with being known as Miss Seren, however Seren is just fine.”
Seren finishes her sentence with a polite nod, lips curving upwards with a respectful smile.

Current Age (25+):

As the interviewer scribbles something inside of their notepad, Seren taps her right hands fingers atop of her lefts, eyes wandering around the room whilst maintaining her straight-facing posture. The ginger haired woman returns her gaze towards the person Infront of her, dark eyes resting onto their own as she listens to the question being asked.

She nods slightly, her eyes wandering off somewhere before suddenly locking back onto her interviewer, “I am Twenty-Seven”, she hums whilst brushing a piece of hair behind her ear whilst maintaining appropriate eye-contact with the person before her.

Past job/work experience:

The Gundogdu bristles ever so slightly at that question, her academic and working experience was meagre at best, she finds herself wishing she had taken much more opportunities within the workforce. “I have been in this line of work for approximately five years, four months and three days as of today. I started in local news, covering small stories before working my way up, where I began to cover crime, politics and community stories.” She nods with a bated breath, her facials giving away nothing but nonchalance. However, a further look upon her eyes shows she seemed to be nervous. It was her only weakness, her eyes were literally the window to her soul.

Degree/qualifications:

Seren pauses, raising her right hand to scratch at her cheek. “I’ve studied Communications, and Journalism in my University years, and completed a few newsroom internships whilst I was working there.” She lowers her hand to rest in its original spot, nodding to signify she was done listing her qualifications.

Nationality and born location:

“I’ve been in Wales for majority of my life, before I moved to Japan about..” Cut herself off as she opened her phone to check todays date, “Six months, two weeks and five days ago. I haven’t been here in Karakura for much, maybe a week.” She nods to herself, confirming it was infact a week since she had moved down to Karakura.

Phone Number:

Seren slid her phone towards her again, opening her phone and typing in a four-number passcode which unlocked to show a plain home screen with little to no apps installed, just a few chatting apps, news apps and social media and the pre-installed apps existed on her phone. She swipes to another page on her homescreen, her finger hovering over the page before finding its self-pressing onto her phone app. “Yes, 030-448-7130.” She recited it rather fast, she notices it herself and decides to slide her phone towards the interviewer so they could copy down her number. “My apologies, I’ve been told I frequently rush my speech more then needed.” She shuts her phone off and pulls it back towards her, leaving it sitting on the wooden table.

How would you describe yourself in under 150 words?:

Seren paused, her heart dropping with comical fear. For the first time in this interview, Seren was stumped. She shifts uncomfortably within her chair, awkwardly quiet as her mind raced with different explanations before she halts her movement. She looks up with a different look in her eyes, one that screamed “Problem solved.”

“Well, I would entail a third party to provide an unbiased about myself, because really. Who would like to speak down upon themselves, not me. That’s for sure, so instead of describing myself. I’ll describe Seren Gundogu to you.”

Seren completely has undergone a 180 in behaviour, her expression now unreadable. Her eyes weren’t giving any hints towards how she was feeling either, she was completely impassive with an excellent poker-face that she had worn.

“Seren Gundogdu, a hard worker. However, sometimes gets too swept away within her work and holes herself up like a pathetic hermit crab.. I’ve also heard she’s quite a terrible person to argue with and will frequently have switches within her personality. Often going from chatty and social, to introverted and an energy vampire. Now, not to say she isn’t a good employee, she’s great.. Most of the time.”

Seren nods in approval, laying back in her chair with an impressed expression being worn upon her face.

What are you interested in writing about? How will you achieve this, and would you consider going out of your comfort zone?:

Watched as the interviewer nodded to her previous response, she felt her hand begin to get sweaty, a clammy feeling shooting through her palm as a similar one shot inwards of her chest, paired with the THUMP, THUMP.. of her chest, if she were to put a metaphor to it – She would liken it to an army of horses marching northward, in sync. “Well, I’d say I’m interested in writing about tricky topics, ones that could easily cause discomfort within one’s self, controversial and touchy. That’s my cup of tea.”

She took a shallow breath, regaining herself as she continued, “I like to challenge myself to an unbiased narrative on extremely terrible things going on in the town and world.” She nods slowly, almost forgetting there was a second part of the question. However, she doesn’t and catches herself with an answer, “A comfort zone? I don’t have one.” She says nonchalantly, her eyes glistening with an emotion akin to pride.

What are your expectations for the job?:

Seren raised her eyes to the roof, investigating every sc**** and cranny it carried whilst her mind scrambled together words, her head tilts back down to face the interviewer with again, another unreadable expression worn upon her face. “I expect the bare minimum. Professional co-workers, who are respectful and open to sharing ideas, thoughts and criticism. I would appreciate that this job would feel as though I’m writing with friends, not complete strangers.”

Do you have a criminal record? If so, list the crimes below:

Seren shakes her head, responding with a tone that possibly carried abit of amusement behind it, “No, I do not.”

Fluent Languages (Underline your native):

“I am currently fluent in Welsh, English and Japanese. I am on track to learn Japanese Sign Language” It’s almost interesting to note how Seren talked, like a humane robot. If that was possible?

PROMPTS:
You will have to write two reports about a topic of your choice. Here we can see how pronounced your writing is and how creative you are. Use your own formatting and your own report idea. (If you're found plagiarizing an actual report or another applicant, you will be denied.)

#1 - General report. Report about a topic, informing players about an event or significant issues to Karakura.

- Delinquency.

- Get some pictures of the PinkPanther gang members in their tokku fokkus

- Get a picture of Hana holding the pink panther flag

- Twenie1 has given permission to use any pictures took within his gangs activity channel!

- Explore the beginnings of these groups, their traditions and how they work.

-

#2 - Interview. It's important to have well-rounded questions. Create your own interview with ten questions or more. And answer them yourself.

1. Without giving away your feelings yet, could you tell me what delinquency mean to you?

2. Now, how does delinquency make you feel?

3. Do you think there is any room for improvement within these teens?

4. Do you have any ideas the government, police and psychiatric team could do to help these teens?

5. What is the worst thing about these delinquents? What makes them annoying to you?

6. If a teen you were close with were to make it known they were in one of these ‘Bosozuko gangs’, how would you feel?

7. Is there anything likeable about ‘Bosozuko’ culture?

8. Do you think that this generation is more aggressive then the last?

9. What makes you think that there seems to be a rise of aggressive teens in this generation?

10. How likely is it, that a delinquent will join a gang in the future?
