(these tables have been re-used from some of my other applications)

During the day, I take breaks from SRP which are in between half an hour to two hours.

During my times off, a ping will suffice to grab my attention, and I’ll be able to hop on if im available.

Link any significant applications (e.g., Roles/Teams, exclude languages):

ACCEPTED:

DENIED:

What is your motivation to apply for reporter?:

I’ve been waiting for the reporter applications for a while now, at first I wanted to join because they could GangRP whilst being in a faction which was the quick ‘n easy way to become an adult whilst still being paid. However, after I joined the delinquent gang I currently am in, I lost interest in GangRP and started leaning more towards DelinquentRP. Now, I want to join because I’ve found the faction quite interesting. Especially the way a reporter (OOCLY) is able to stay neutral in a topic when its about controversial or inhumane topics. I’ve also always possessed a hobby for writing, sometimes getting too into it when I research a topic and end up delving sub-topics just for fun.

Do you have any experience with writing? What is your relationship with writing?:

Like I’ve mentioned previously, I’ve always had a hobby for creative writing – well, just writing in general. I’ve won a couple awards in Highschool for some of my creative writing essays, which im pretty proud of. I currently think I possess a good relationship with writing, always researching new words to add to my vocabulary and trying to correctly use them within my writing. Another thing I tend to do is heavily edit my work every day, so that way when its completely finished – It turns out the best it can.

Are you aware of - and will follow - the set of rules provided to you?:

I am well aware of the rules provided, and am prepared to follow them as well.

Why should we accept you over others?:

This was always a question I used to find hard to answer, constantly asking myself, “Do I make myself sound like the best candidate, whilst answering with slightly generic reasons whilst also risking sounding like two-dimensional side character, or do I bring myself down from my pedestal and be honest? Well, why not both?

I’ll be honest, I’d be a great candidate for a new member in the reporting faction. Not only am I extremely active on the server, but I also write a lot. Like a lot.

Wherever I am, I like to write, whether it be in the car, or in the classroom and sometimes even in the shower, I’m always writing or thinking about ideas to write about. New story narratives, new what-ifs, new perspectives. I would like to assume that is a good quality, unless it isn’t and I sound crazy admitting it.

Another part of my redeeming qualities is my ability to yap, and yap and yap. At first, this would be an annoying trait to possess, right? But what if I mold it into an advantage? I’ve always talked a lot and will continue to do so, since it allows me to quickly switch topics and conversations quickly, which translated into allowing me to quickly switch between writing genres and such. So sure, being a fat yapper might be a negative. But only If you make it so.

Now, my not so amazing qualities.

Procrastination, possibly one of the hardest but easiest things to overcome. Whilst being a procrastinator often leaves me finishing chores, favours, work and assignments till the past possible minute, I’ve also started to push past it. So that’s one problem, what about the rest? Without venting, I’ll say this one very simply. My Mental health Issues, they aren’t severe, but they aren’t light.
I won't sit here, and promise to improve, instead i'll be real with you, writing, reporting and playing SRP gives me motivation. So when its all bundled together into one faction, it'll most likely help me overcome these obstacles.

Do you understand you have to stay completely neutral with all reports? (Your report can't have any OOC or IC bias towards a specific group.)

I understand that I have to stay completely neutral within all of my reports, and will make sure to constantly check my tone, view and how it could possibly be interpreted.

Do you trust that you will be able to stay active and complete the monthly quota?:

I trust and will promise to do my absolute best to be active unless I am having problems, which I will most indefinitely let a higherup now. I also trust I will be able to complete the monthly quota, and if not, I am ready to take any repercussions for my negligence.

Summarise what you imagine work as a reporter is:

In my mind, work as a reporter comes across as a creative job. Reporters often have to come up with new, innovative ideas to present their findings whilst maintaining a neutral tone and making sure no hint of bias can be found within their work.

I imagine that work as a reporter will have me constantly challenging myself, what topic can I talk about? What topic can I reinvent? What topics should I wait till I’m more experienced? How should I present this topic?

With simple reports starting at minor things such as a weather report, a question to challenge the citizens of Karakura and their thinking skills. Other reports could be new shop openings and what’s the talk of town, whilst more serious topics could be delving into the crime rates of a small town whilst interviewing citizens, government workers, police officers and the fellas down at the hospital. Now, correct me if I’m wrong. But a reporters work seems to be mainly about voicing the opinions of the public rather than the reporters own personal opinions.

Treat this section like it is your own character answering it

Full Name:

The doorknob turns ever so slightly, the door creaking open as an incredibly tall man enters the room, his spine slightly hunched over with an obvious reason behind it. A rough hand lingers on the knob, before the door is gently shut behind the African American. Long, multicolored dreads hang over his shoulders, the color scheme alike to 'Calico'. The male lingers at the doorway, a soft smile spreading over his face, two dimples deepening within his cheeks as he introduces himself, "Good morning, my name is Matías Santana. It is great to meet you." As he speaks, Matías bends down in a respectful bow before straightening up and moving forthward towards the chair provided infront of the desk.

He stops infront of the chair, shrugging off his coat and neatly placing it ontop of the backrest. He takes a step to the side, slipping into the chair with his smile
still present. Matías shifts for a moment as he crosses his legs, a few creases appearing on his suit legs. He interlocks his fingers, a sparkling, double-layered, gold ring with an eye-catching diamond rests on his ring-finger.

Preferred Name/Nickname and Title (e.g., Ms, Mr)

"Mr. Santana is jus' fine" Is all Matías responds with, keeping it short and simple with no over explanation.

Current Age (25+):

As the Interviewer scribbled somethings on the lined page of their notebook, Matías takes this as an opportunity to wander around the room using his eyes, taking in small details such as the half-drunken coffee cup that the interviewer seemed to have abandoned. He taps his fingers on his hand, waiting for another question.

"Ah, I'm.. like Thirty-Seven." Matías huffs softly, a smirk replacing his passive smile, "I don' look my age, I know."

Past job/work experience:

Matías straightens up, his shoulders pushed back to balance his posture. "I have been working for more then ten years in journalism. I started as a local new writer before moving into field reporting. I'm experienced in covering community stories aswell as crime reports." Matías nods, signalling he had finished answering the question.

He seems to be getting fidgety, his leg bouncing erratically which seemed to go unnoticed by him. It wasn't distracting, it was just noticable.

Degree/qualifications:

Rubbed his ring with his thumb, twirling it around his finger as he spoke, "Uh, I've got an erm.. Yes, a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism and Media, I'm hashtag certified in investigative reporting and media ethics." He smiles softly, his dimples deepening into his cheeks again.

Nationality and born location:

"Born and raised in America, NYC for majority of my life. I've just recently moved to Japan about.." Matías cut himself off as he opened his phone to check todays date, "Yeaaah.. About six months now? I haven't been here in Karakura too long, moved here recently." He shuts his phone off, placing it screen down on the table.

Phone Number:

"My number, its ..030-448-7130"

How would you describe yourself in under 150 words?:

"Er.. I'd probably describe myself as a hardworker, however sometimes i do tend to procrastinate my work, especially if I'm not in the zone. Y'know? I'm a naturally curious person, always asking questions whenever I can. At the end of the day, I just enjoy telling and reporting stories."

What are you interested in writing about? How will you achieve this, and would you consider going out of your comfort zone?:

"Uh, I'm mainly interested in writing about crime, investigations, and major incidents happening around the city. I like reporting on stories that tend to like, have a.. an uh.. Real impact on people, y'know? Achieving this could be a 'lil tricky considering I'd hafta stay active 'round police reports, track down witnesses and officals to get accurate info on stuff like dat. But, whilst crime reporting IS my main interest, I 'on mind steppin' outta my comfort zone if its really needed."

What are your expectations for the job?:

"Uh, I lowkey expect the job to be sorta active, maybe unpredictable when I'm like, covering breaking stories. My main goal is to like, report accurately and responsibly, OH! I also expect to like, work closely with others. Kinda like a safe haven, with friends... Ya know?" the male crossed his arms, clearing his throat.
"Professionally, I would expect collaboration with colleagues where reporters and editors are able to communicate clearly, an enviroment where my colleagues can give an unbiased, and effective criticism, since input always helps produce my best work."

Do you have a criminal record? If so, list the crimes below:

"III.. Do not have a criminal record, no!"

Fluent Languages (Underline your native):

"Well, uhh.. I'm fully fluent in like, English, Japanese, Spanish and Arabic" he paused for a moment, before adding on "I'm also semi-fluent in Czech."
He offers the interviewer another bright smile.

PROMPTS:
You will have to write two reports about a topic of your choice. Here we can see how pronounced your writing is and how creative you are. Use your own formatting and your own report idea. (If you're found plagiarizing an actual report or another applicant, you will be denied.)

#1 - General report. Report about a topic, informing players about an event or significant issues to Karakura.

#2 - Interview. It's important to have well-rounded questions. Create your own interview with ten questions or more. And answer them yourself.

[!] The faint hiss of static bled through the recorder before a soft click cut through the noise, a faint rustle sounds through the audio, before it goes quiet for a moment. [!]

[Matías]
"..Aight, looks like.. it’s workin!"

Matías leaned forward, adjusting the recorder sitting on his desk. flipping open his notebook, and tapping the end of his pen lightly against the paper before he looked up at the male sitting across from him.

"Professor Volkova, I appreciate you sittin' down wit' me today. I know professors stay busy, so thank you for takin' a lil' time out."

He gave a small nod, followed by a cheeky grin aimed at none other then his husband.

"As you k-.. Yeah, I’m workin’ on a report about some concerns folks in Karakura been talkin’ about lately… Mostly youth crime an’ how more teenagers been showin’ up in police reports. I figured talkin’ to somebody who works with students every day might give some real insight."

[Professor: Lukas Volkova]

The professor rested his hands together on the desk, his demeanour serious with little to no expression heard through his voice.

"It’s no problem at all. I'm glad to be of any help, Matías."

[Matías]
"Bet."

Matías scribbled something quickly into his notebook, looking up at the male before shooting another question,

"To start things off, could you explain what you teach here an' how long you been workin' with students?"

[Professor: Lukas Volkova]
"I teach Architecture, I've been working as a professor here in Karakura for abit."

He paused briefly.

"In this time, I've had the opportunity to talk with many different kinds of students."

[Matías]
"Aigh', cool cool."

He jotted something down before glancing back up.

"So from what you seen all that time teachin', would you say students been actin' different these last few years?"

[Professor: Lukas Volkova]

Lukas considered the question for a moment, his brows furrowing as he thought.

"Well, I believe students today face more pressure than many people seem to realize. You know, academic expectations, social pressures… and personal struggles can all affect behaviour."

[Matías]
"Yeah, that makes sense.."

Matías tapped his pen against the notebook, his eyes still locked onto Lukas’s own pair.

"Y'know recently there been a lotta reports where teenagers or young adults end up involved in crimes, stuff like fights, vandalism, sometimes worse. Why you think younger folks get caught up in that kinda thing?"

[Professor Lukas Volkova]
"Peer influence plays a significant role."

He leaned back slightly.

"When people are young, they're still figuring out their identity. The friends they surround themselves with can strongly influence their choices."

[Matías]
"True."

He nodded slowly while writing that down.

"Would you say boredom got somethin' to do with it too? Like… not havin' stuff to do after school?"

[Professor Lukas Volkova]
"Yes, that can definitely contribute."

The professor folded his arms loosely.

"When young people don’t have productive outlets, sports, clubs, or community activities. They sometimes seek excitement elsewhere."

[Matías]
"Aight, I feel that."

Matías flipped to the next page of his notebook.

"As somebody who see students every day, do you ever notice signs when somebody might be headin' down the wrong path?"

[Professor Lukas Volkova]
"Sometimes."

He nodded slightly.

"Changes in attitude, withdrawing from school activities, or associating with certain groups can all be warning signs."

[Matías]
Matías paused, writing quickly before looking back up.

"So what role you think teachers got in tryin' to stop stuff like that from happenin?"

[Professor Lukas Volkova]
"Teachers can guide and support students, but we can't do it alone."

He spoke calmly.

"Families and the wider community also play an important role."

[Matías]
"Yeah, that makes sense."

He closed his notebook halfway.

"If there was one thing you think could actually help lower youth crime in Karakura, what would it be?"

[Professor Lukas Volkova]
The professor thought for a moment.

"Mentorship programs."

"When young people have someone they trust guiding them, it can make a significant difference."

[Matías]
Matías wrote down the final note before glancing up again.

"Aight, last question before I let you get back to work."

He rested the pen against the notebook.

"What advice you give students who might feel pressure from their friends to do stuff they know ain't right?"

[Professor Lukas Volkova]
The professor smiled faintly.

"I would tell them that the people you choose to surround yourself with shape the person you become."

He paused briefly.

"Choosing the right influences can change your entire future."

[Matías]
Matías nodded slowly before closing the notebook.

"Bet, I appreciate that."

He reached forward toward the recorder.

"Professor Volkova, thank you again for takin' the time to talk wit' me. This really helps."

[Professor Lukas Volkova]
"It was my pleasure."

The professor stood, straightening his jacket slightly.

"I wish you the best with your report."

[Matías]
"Thank you."

A small click followed as Matías switched off the recorder.
