Backstory: Mellodie Veriña Was born to an upper-class family in Gijón, Spain. Her mother is a well known lawyer, mainly for taking on cases of people wronged by government officials and senators, Her father works as an architect restoring many historical building and working with charities to build affordable housing and homes for the underpaid and homeless. Around age 6 Mell land her family moved to A Coruña, Spain for her fathers work, her mother had no issue with this since she made enough to be entirely mobile whenever. Her early years before being a teenager she would spend time playing with her siblings and learning to cook since no other hobby could keep her interest for more than 15 minutes. Her childhood was very easy going she was very adored by her whole family she was never without any attention and had her needs always filled. However into her teenage years she started to travel with her mother to some if not most of her trials or meetings, this was easy to do since she was home schooled unlike her brothers. Though she never out right said it bothered her, her mother could see she was bummed by it, therefore sparking the idea to take mellodie with her to be able to get out and see new things.
Mellodie and her mother had gone all over multiple parts of Spain, and eventually even other countries. Unfortunately on one of these trips mellodie had gotten separated from her mother on a busy train and ended up alone in a place she didn't know. She started to panic and have an anxiety attack since she didn't speak japanese at the time so she couldn't understand the train station or ask for help. She was eventually found by the police after her mother was able to report her as missing. Soon after she Started learning other languages but sticking with japanese at first since being lost and alone scared her so bad, she still to this day will sometimes get separation anxiety.
She is now able to handle her self in most situations, however when she was about 17 she went off on her own while her mother had a case to work, and she gotten herself into a horrible situation where she was harmed and violated by a person. Mellodie was Shut down for a month before being able to speak to her mother about it, when she told her her mother was angry but held her tight and did everything she could to be there for her. For a while she didn't make any heavy trips back to japan however when she got the opportunity to go to the same school as some friends she met during her mothers travels she took it up and let her mother know she was going. Her mother and father being hesitant at first but caving after they saw how passionate mell was about being there, they really only let her go because she wouldn't be alone. and thus is how she ended up in Karakura.
