What is your motivation for applying?:
Journalism is an important part of daily life. Journalists help to spread news, to help people, and make sure everybody is informed and safe in any way their job allows them to. I want to be a part of that good, to help others. I want to keep the citizens of Karakura safe and informed, so that this city can stay peaceful.
[CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE]
Tell us about your character, how do they look, what makes them unique? What are they like on and off the job? Outlook on their co-workers? Plans for the future?:
Mide Au Revior is a 6' male with gray eyes, and brown hair. He usually wears neutral-colored clothing at work, because he gets migraines from bright colors, and doesn't want folks within the community to feel the pain of constant headaches.
He's very polite and friendly, and rarely gets upset with people. He's sociable, with a knack for charisma, and knows how to tell a good story. He's normally found with his friends, cracking some sort of joke.
He can become a completely different person if needed. He can go from laughing to sober in minutes depending on whatever he needs to become. If there's a warning, he can give it. If there's a lighthearted story, he can tell it. He makes good eye contact, even bleary, with fatigue. Even with his disability setbacks, he's a motivated, dedicated worker.
BACKSTORY:
He was born in June of 2001, to a wealthy couple named Jessica and Bill. His younger sister, May, came along about 3 years later. They were raised in England, which is where he would spend most of his better years.
As a kid, he was very active. His favorite thing to do was swim. He was always a quick swimmer, and on his 13th birthday, his parents, wealthy as they were, decided to fly down to Florida, USA, to the beach.
The tragedy ensued that afternoon, June 2014. The jet crashed. His parents were dead on the scene, and his beloved sister died slowly in his arms, never understanding what was going on. Despite his post traumatic memory loss, he would never forget his sister’s last words.
“Mide, why does it hurt so bad?”
He fell into a deep depression that caused alcoholism and misuse of drugs until he was 16. And every time he’d gone to the hospital after an overdose, he was treated like dirt. He learned this was common for those with addictions, and vowed to become a doctor. A good doctor, like the ones people see on TV. He also later vowed to never drink or misuse drugs again, after a low point hit him. When he thought, “my family would have never wanted to see me like this.”
The last time he went to the doctor was when he fell ill. The common cold. He never technically recovered. He developed Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, which caused short-term memory loss, and chronic pain. He, of course, doesn’t recall the exact time he got sick, but it happened, and he never really got better. He was angry, as it seemed to him that he had terrible luck, but he learned to accept that sometimes, things go wrong, and that’s the way the cookie crumbles now and again.
Now, he enjoys hobbies like drawing, photo editing, and, of course, swimming. He takes medicine (prescribed) to ward off the symptoms of depression and PTSD, but never misuses them. He is quiet, and usually found alone, or with a small group of friends. He is recovering.
