ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
I was in the basketball court, handed my Electric Guitar "Marceline" to my friend (SanrioRoll), and asked for it back. I stepped onto the basketball court while she dropped the item, and when I stepped out, my custom item was totally gone due to the inventory reset that occurs when you enter/leave a basketball court.
