September 13, 2000 at 12:54 AM in 'Gyeonggi Medical Center Pocheon Hospital' (경기도의료원포천병원), Momoko was born in Pocheon-si, Korea.
She lived a normal life, lived like any other kid. She had a mother and a father, they were all close. They'd often travel, going to fun places as a family. However, times got rough with money, and her father did some 'shady business' with dangerous men, all to make money so his family could flourish.
Everything was fine, until Momoko's father got offered a high paying job, which he took in a heartbeat, and quit doing business with the men he worked with before. He owed them over 5,000,000 South Korean won (₩), which he refused to pay back when they warned him.
For over a month, he put it off, dismissing the situation all together, believing they wouldn't follow up on their threats. This belief, however, was wrong.
One winter night two men broke into their home, one with a gun, one with a knife. They didn't notice Momoko, who at the time was 5, watching from under the table, which had a table cover over it, blocking their view of the child hiding under it. However, Momoko was able to see what was happening.
The two men told Momoko's mother to go to the wall, threatening her if she did not abide. Her father was in the room next door, having hearing the noise he got his bat he owns for protection, and went out to see what all the fuss was about. His blood ran cold when he realized who was there.
The men instantly recognized him, now paying attention to him.
Momoko's mother realized they weren't paying attention to her, so she took the opportunity to lunge at them, trying to disarm the man with the knife. The man's partner, the one with the gun, quickly acted, giving her no time to successfully disarm the man with the knife.
He quickly shot her in the head, instantly killing her. Without thinking, being controlled by emotions, he readied his bat to attack the man who shot his wife, but before he could swing he was shot in the leg, causing him to fall onto the ground, screaming out in pain.
The man with the knife quickly lunged at him, pinning him down and holding the knife to his neck, pressing down just enough for a small cut to form. He asked for the money one last time, last chance, but her father refused, which caused the knife to be lunged into his throat, causing his head to be half mutilated. Momoko witnessed all of this, and was terrified. She whimpered and began crying, which the two men heard. They instantly went to the table, kicking it, revealing the weeping child.
They were going to kill her, before giving each other a look, and deciding to keep her to use for their benefits.
They took her home with them, quickly teaching her the ropes. She quickly learned that acting out will get her a beating. The first month she was stubborn, and refused to listen.
This resulted in major consequences.
They'd often burn her stomach and feet, leaving the burns untreated. If this wasn't enough, sometimes they'd burn her then cut her where they burned her, they'd also gag her so she wasn't able to scream.
One time, she saw the opportunity to yell for help, which was quickly dismissed by the public, and she was instantly brought back 'home'. There, they hung her and beat her with a bat, like you'd do a piñata. They made sure to cut the rope before she passed out, leaving her there to lay in pain.
She soon gave up on fighting back, learning that agreeing to what they tell her and not fighting back results in a better outcome. They'd often mentally abuse her, trying to break her.
This resulted in her showing her emotions differently. When she felt safe, she'd show emotion, and be herself. Where as, when she didn't feel safe, or was doing her 'job', she would mask her emotions completely, feeling numb to pain both physically and mentally.
She's usually a calm, caring and nice person, but when she gets that way, or 'breaks', as some call it, she seems soulless, an empty shell that holds no emotion.
This made it easier for her to witness the men who 'raised' her kill people, and even sometimes when they made her kill, which wasn't very often.
She lived this way until she was 18.
The cops eventually caught on to what was happening. When they burst down the door, Momoko realized that was her chance of escape.
Instead of defending the two men like she was ordered to, she instantly played the victim card, having evidence of the abuse they put her through, due to the scars they had left her.
The two men got arrested, put in jail for life. She was a legal adult by then, being able to make her own choices. The officers recommended therapy, which she denied.
She looked around for a cheap place to live, and eventually found out about Karakura, Japan, which she decided would be the best place to move to. When she moved, everything was new to her. She was free, no longer a puppet.
At first she was scared of everyone, but quickly made friends, and relearned what love was. Growing up, she never had time to make friends or actually live, so she wasn't very aware of feelings and emotions. Everything is a learning process with her, since it has been such a long time that she has felt love. When she experienced her first hug in 15 years, she enjoyed the comforting contact, and she has enjoyed hugging people ever since, always being down for a hug.
She is extremely nice to everyone, and loves to make friends and meet new people. However, due to her past she deals with major anxiety when meeting males that she is not familiar with. Though, with some time she will calm down and trust them, some of her close friends are males.
She comes off as innocent, as she's learning a lot of things, like the birds and the bees, for instance.
