Why are Teachers so important to SchoolRP?:
For a server named SchoolRoleplay, we can all assume that teachers and professors and students are what holds the server together without the other factions. Teachers are in my opinion, also the people that most of the time guide and direct newer players to more roleplay opportunities, and also explain how the server works in the barest bones.
Even for the type of teacher I'm going for, I believe also gets people a small push to see the lore that they are now following in, and what they can do themselves to make a character that understands the environment around them.
Do you acknowledge that if you are inactive you may lose your role?: Yes
Do you agree to undergo teacher training if your application is successful?: Yes
What is your motivation for becoming a Teacher?: Over the past few months, actually about a year when we think about it long term; I have become obsessed with real life history that has happened across the globe, and even often found myself reading up on Karakuras lore as everybody watches some new posts come out. It is something I truly enjoy, and I enjoy making small parts of a characters life help me represent that part of myself helps me keep consistent with characters and their interests and the little parts that make a character feel human instead of acting.
I have also been trying to see new ways for me to enjoy SRP; and there's something I've debated about touching in the past but never felt strongly enough about making an application. With me actively in summer vacation, and finding a decent amount of my days lost on what to do and how to spend my time, I've seen myself looking more into the school faction, and wanting to do something I would actually enjoy instead of just doing it for the roleplay opportunities.
In-Character Section
What's your character's full name?: Yūji Asōgi
What is your character's age?: 57
What is your preferred subject to teach?: History
Describe your character:
Yuji is a father, and a great grandfather. He's a Japanese man that stands at 6'1 but unable to run; a prosthesis from a messy mechanics job years ago making it difficult to walk and move around; yet that's all his kids like to do, run around; cause mayhem. His hands calloused, stiff joints all over that make easy life habits now difficult, he moved to Karakura to be around his kids more, many of them having gone to great places, and some stuck being trouble maker kids. He enjoys caring for people, even when he doesn't know them; he enjoys the fact that people can depend on him despite his own struggles with comforting. He tries to be the best person he can for himself and his family.
As for his physical appearance completely? He wears glasses, normally hung down on his nose. He walks with a cane, and normally wears a tan-brown and white suit. His hair is cut short, normally clinging to one side of his face as the other side of his scalp hang bare.
Roleplay Scenarios
A student in class is struggling to understand the content, what would your character do?:
Ask them how he can help in anyway, if it means asking many questions? He'll answer them to his best ability, if it means reading the material out loud for them? He'd do it with pride, that is if he isn't actively teaching. He'll answer their questions, but try to get them to come to him outside of class for the proper help that he can provide, if they are putting in the effort, they deserve to be properly taught.
A student is continuously being disruptive in class, talking out of turn, and making jokes with classmates. What would your character do?:
Yuji is very strict in his classroom, he has the three strikes and your out rule in his class, you have three times to change your behavior before you are dismissed from class. If this continues outside of class, the harassment maybe of others then they would receive a detention; but it wouldn't be a normal detention if he shows up, he'd ask them why they continued their behavior after being told to stop, and lend out a helping hand if he is able to. He doesn't believe that normal detention tasks work to actually deter behavior, instead it's best to face it head on and try to change it instead of torturing a student with writing a story or answering math problems. Give them a relevant punishment to why they are there.
Provide at least 2 interactive class ideas related to your preferred subject:
Reading the Articles.
Going through news articles! There are some that are very specific to lore that happened on the server, and some that many people either witnessed or didn't end up witnessing, I have also witnessed more people not reading the news articles, when some of them share some very important events that are happening on the server.
There is also a different version of this class that I'd host, yet is very similar; going through the case archive! It will help explain to teenagers what laws they have to follow, and how to go through about reporting them or on a trial themselves, gives the history to our laws and some of the people that are currently in jail.
Teach yourself and your classmates.
There will of course be the kind of classes where the students can teach each other! This would probably take up two classes back to back, giving the assignment first period then letting them teach each other the next period. This will help to teach them how to find proper sources, and to know their own history if no teachers cover their own.
