Thunder
By Mxxkie
It was a loud sound, a deafening sound,
It was a clap, a boom; a drummer boy’s marching beat.
It was a warning, a harbinger.
It signaled a storm was brewing
It put terror into the hearts of babies and pups
It tore at skies,
It ripped through sound,
It even made the foundations of home tremble in fear.
It was a gun firing off,
It was the sound of cymbals crashing,
It was a low, rumbling growl of the beast,
It was the hungry stomach of Mother Nature
It was the snapping of hushing fingers
It was the crack of an oppressive whip
It was the explosion of dynamite
It was the expansion of a firework
It blared like a siren
It filled the ears, drowning them
It invaded the bloodstream,
It kept time with the beating heart
It picked up tempo, a concert, the grand finale,
It found itself joined by elpileptic display of bluish white lights
It soon crescendoed, and just then
It broke into a weeping rain.
