Describe your activity and roleplay experience on the server:
I’ve been playing SRP consecutively for about a year and a half now on my main account (rough estimate), and have been a part of many different groups from both highschool and college track team (that i am no longer apart of, unfortunately) to working at Shops like Seikatsu, Umisachi and Yakedo Amai, as well as working as both staff and a bodyguard for Hoshino Productions. I also have experience working at fightclub as well as other gangrp related experience. My activity is usually very high, pretty much online all day everyday when I can be, and I feel I have strength within my detailrp skills.

In your own words, why do you think professors are important to SchoolRP?
Professors are important as they not only offer support to the college students, but to other faculty as well, with them attending each other's lessons occasionally and also supporting SLT with misbehaving students and handing out detentions or mediating situations.

Do you acknowledge that if you are inactive, you may face demotion or removal from the faction?
Yes.

Do you understand if your application is accepted, you may have to undergo professor training?:
yes.

What's your character's full name?
The woman walked into the office looking professional and well-kept. Her hair was brushed back, out of her face, and her outfit screamed ‘professor’. It had been a while since she had walked these halls. The young woman sat, hands folded neatly in her lap as she offered a smile to the male. “Good morning, Mr Akiyama, my name is Miss Rikako Kurose- however I am not against shortening it to ‘Rika’ if that is preferred.” Her eyes sparkled as the sunlight shines through the windows, highlighting her dark waves.

Age (Minimum is 27):
“My age? Why- Mr Akiyama, have you not heard that saying?” She paused, and then began to quote something “Never ask a woman her age, a man his salary, or a writer how their book is selling.” She smiled, surely she was just joking, right? “I jest, I jest. Though the history behind that saying and it’s adaptations are rather intriguing- though I am aware you’re a busy man.” She took a second to adjust the glasses on her face. “I am 27 years old, I know, I don’t look a day over 21! I suppose I just have good genetics.”

Nationality:
Kurose let the man's words process before she answered casually, she didn't want to sound too eager now. “I am Japanese sir, born and raised in Kyoto, then went to study my bachelors in English Literature in Tokyo.” what else.. She was missing something.. Oh right! “Oh- and I also studied English Literature and creative writing for my Masters in England.” That should do it, right?

Preferred Subject:
She hummed quietly, pondering her response. “Honestly, I much prefer creative writing over English Literature. I love how it lets the students be themselves, and I love watching the worlds they create come to life. I suppose English Literature is a close second though, I do enjoy reading works by authors such as Shakespeare and ****ysing them- a habit I picked up from my studies.” She sighed longingly, what she wouldn’t give to be curled up by a fire reading right now.. Oh well! She could do that AFTER the interview was over.

Describe the character: How do they look and act? What makes them unique and
different? What are their plans for the future? Optionally, what is their past?
The woman before you held a presence that blends quiet confidence with sharp attentiveness. Standing at 5'5", her build is slim and balanced, giving her a naturally agile look suited for someone constantly on the move. Her long black hair, streaked with teal highlights, cascades down her back in soft waves. She often pulls part of it into a high ponytail, giving her a practical yet distinctive look that people tend to remember.

Kurose possesses a mind that cannot leave questions unanswered. She listens carefully, notices subtle meanings others overlook, and pursues ideas long after others have moved on, however she is naturally friendly and approachable, she makes people feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and perspectives. Beneath that warmth, lies a deeply ****ytical thinker who constantly examines themes, interpretations, and the connections hidden within stories and language.
Once Rika becomes fascinated by a subject, she throws herself into understanding it completely. Difficult texts, conflicting theories, and endless research only strengthen her determination to uncover deeper meanings. Despite her ambition, she carries a strong sense of responsibility. To her, literature is more than an academic discipline, it is a way of preserving ideas, understanding humanity, and inspiring others to think critically.

In the future, perhaps Kurose will settle down with someone. Find a partner, maybe even start a family, however in the words of Gilda Radner ‘Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what’s going to happen next.’ A saying that Kurose also enjoys and lives by - she doesn’t see the use in worrying about the future and the unknown, and instead chooses to focus on now and what she does know.

What is their outlook on students and their co-workers?
Kurose has a strong belief in the ‘treat others how you want to be treated’ way of life. She greets everyone kindly, and offers support however she can, however she understands the boundaries that are in place between students and professors, as well as why they are there. So while she wants to help however she can, she acknowledges that doing so, may mean sending them to someone else. To Kurose, respect is a two way street, and she acknowledges that other professors have been doing this a lot longer than she has, so she takes any criticism and advice on board and works to apply it as much as she can.

What is their motivation for becoming a professor?:
Ever since she was younger, Kurose has been obsessed with reading and writing. She excelled at it in school, and found that in the future she’d either want to be a reporter, or do something else with literature. It wasn’t until some classmates came to her in college asking her if she could help tutor them in English Literature that she realised she might be able to make a career of this. That same day, Rika took her report cards and grades to the guidance councillor, and sat down to talk about her options. They agreed that, given her record and eagerness to help her classmates, teaching would actually be the perfect job for Kurose. At first, she tried one of those teacher training courses alongside her studies, where she primarily worked with highschoolers, however she found they were much too unruly, and didn’t share the same love for reading and writing that she did. Then she tried college classes- this was where she shined. People were there because they wanted to be, because they too shared the same love that Kurose held. They were respectful, eager, and most importantly, they listened. Kurose realised right then and there, that literature wasn’t dying- it was just hiding in people who chose to appreciate it quietly.1782153564796.png
A jock is ignoring your lesson and throwing paper balls at another student, what would your character do?
She would, kindly at first, ask them to stop and remain focused- reminding them that they chose to be in that lesson along with everyone else, so it is not fair for them to continue the disruption. If they continued, she’d remind them a second time- slightly firmer than before, to sit and behave. If things got bad or escalated, she’d threaten with detention or even with going directly to their captain to get the problem sorted, as well as removing them from the class.

A student doesn’t seem to understand the material, yet hasn’t requested help, what would your character do?
At first, she’d do a general check to the room, to make sure they didn’t feel singled out or exposed. Then if they still didn’t speak up, she’d go around individually and whisper, so as to not embarrass them. If the work was correct, she’d praise them and encourage them to keep going. If it was wrong, she’d gently redirect and subtly assist so the student still felt in control.

When in the faculty lounge, how does your character act?
As everyone knows, the faculty lounge is a place of solitude and relaxation. Kurose would avoid talking too much about work - unless asked, and more about weekend plans, or evening ideas, to try and bond with her co-workers. If she were alone, she would most likely be sat grading papers and homework, with a nice warm cup of coffee (or green tea depending on the day). If there are no papers to mark, she’d either be reading one of her novels, or waiting by the front desk in case of emergencies.

Provide at least 2 interactive class ideas and one field trip idea related to your subject
Idea one:
The story Remix. The students will be given a story - perhaps one covered in a lesson, or asked to choose their own from preference. When they have this story, they will be tasked with changing it- either making it a different genre, or changing the perspective and may even be asked to act out a snippet of this remixed version of their tale.

Idea two: Character hotseating. The students will be put into teams of 2 (ideally) and will be given the chance to pick a character from a novel or story that they enjoy. When they’ve decided, they will be given the chance to interview each other as that character. If they finish early, they may be permitted to walk around the space and interact with each other as the character too, to understand the emotions and inner workings of them.

Field Trip: Environmental stories/poems. Students will be taken to various places around the city (or the school) where they will be given creative freedom to write stories or poems based on wherever they end up - for example, they might write a poem about the ocean if taken to the beach, or may write a story involving an arcade if they are taken there. If still in school, they could write poems about the plant nursery, or a story of an upcoming athlete when taken to the gymnasium or track field.
