Name confusion

My character's last name is Takahashi which is a very common name in Japan. Someone has asked me to change the name because someone else also has that last name. I don't want to do this. I haven't found anything in the name rules that says I should change the name. What do I do? I could change it, or ask them to change it, or talk about how it's a really common name and it doesn't matter or find out who joined first and whoever joined second change it. I don't care that the names are the same and am not claiming to be related to the other player's character. I am currently not roleplaying with them either. Are there any rules I should be following?

Edit: I have now changed the name of the character Saito so unless anyone knows of a particular family with that name that is what I will stick with

Hello, so we have family's on the server so for example like you said Takahashi, Takahashi is currently a family on the server. In order to use that last name you must go to the creator of that family and ask to join it, but if they don't want you to be apart of their family please find a new last name to use. I usually just find a last name I like then in ooc just ask if anyone has a last name of that last name you like. If you have any other questions pm me on discord. FluffyBunnyRubRub#6449. Honestly, you're fine. You don't have to change anything, just ignore it unless it gets official.

I am the Takahashi Family lead, if you are interested in joining the family then please message me on my discord below. If you do not I will kindly ask you again to change the name as I have put a lot of time into creating the family, and we even have a discord server for it. As my Co-Lead has stated, I have asked you multiple times before to change it. If you would like to check out the discord that we have worked on then please let me know. I understand the confusion, as it is a common name, but sadly we have taken it.
