Namiko is a 5 '7 Japanese female with a bit of Chinese in her from her father. She has long sparkling black hair with a few strands in front of her face with deep dark brown eyes. With a smile on her face she has a faint red tone to her cheeks with pin-up shape to her eyes with the mascara along with a faint reddish pinkish lipstick to her thin lips. She has a round face and the curves of the strands her from face would nicely match with. Her shoulders are more narrow then her hips with a defined waist, she has visual muscles due to working out a lot in the past but no 6-pack!

Though she stands tall and confident when it comes to conversation in situations that are not related to work it seems like she has a hard time making small talk and keeping up with conversations, though at work or a topic relating to medicine is another story. She speaks in a confident attitude and seems to really enjoy the topic of hand. Namiko enjoys talking more to co-workers and family vs her friends as it is easier for her to talk about certain topics. As she teaches she continues to speak in a confident loud tone and she would seem relaxed and happy about what she is teaching. She seems nice and friendly but not really outgoing socially.

BACKSTORY

3:02 AM, February 4th, 1983. A cry would be heard in room 204 in the labor ward of Saitama City Hospital, Namiko Nomura would be born. Surrounded by friends and family Namiko would weigh 6.6lbs and 20in long on a cold Wednesday night. Hours after her birth they would all fall asleep but only for so long before Namiko cried for milk, the journey of raising a child would start for Namiko's parents. The first few weeks were hell for Akane and Daichi, Namiko's parents. They were not used to waking up multiple times during the night and the lack of sleep, though Akane was used to the lack of sleep due to being a nurse and being on long shifts. Daichi co-owned a large company with his friend and went back to work after the first 2 weeks. Because of Japanese Law, Akane took a year of parental leave to be with Namiko.

Right after Namiko turned 1 year old her father got a call saying that business was moving to Hokkaido and they needed him to move there. They had short notice and only had a month to get packed but the business graciously gave them a house. A month later they moved to Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan. Akane quickly found a job at the hospital but became busier so they decided to hire a maid. Up until 3 years old, the maid would take care of her and teach her. When Namiko turned 3 years old her parents enrolled her in a nursery. In the nursery, Namiko would make new friends and also learn. She loved the nursery! Her favorite part was they did something that was related to science. Namiko stayed in the nursery until elementary school at 6 years old.

In elementary school, she made lots of friends, got good grades, was very happy, and never misbehaved. She was simply a perfect child. Namiko loved science class and her favorite subjects were biology and chemistry. Her days would consist of getting up and getting ready for school, having a great breakfast that was cooked by her maid, going to school, going to after-school activities, sometimes hanging out at a friend's house or going straight home and doing homework, eating dinner, getting ready for bed and repeating. Some think it might be boring but Namiko loved it, she loved the routine and would get stressed out when it was messed up.

At the start of Junior High School symptoms of anxiety would start appearing in Namiko. She first ignored it, thinking it was a part of growing up. Her anxiety got bad causing her grades to slip as sometimes she was too scared to go to class and she started to get in trouble. Her parents thought it was a phrase, but after her grades started slipping and her getting in trouble they started to worry. They took her to a psych where she was then diagnosed with anxiety. They started with coping mechanisms as they didn’t want to do medications right away, the coping mechanisms worked. After she started feeling better her grades would go back up and start doing better in school.

In Senior High School her anxiety started getting worse, she hid the fact she was getting worse and the coping mechanisms were not working as she was too scared to see what people thought. She got bullied for this as people thought she was weird. It took until her 2nd year of Senior HS to talk to a psych where she was given medications. She was embarrassed at first but slowly embraced the fact this was gonna be part of her life.

During her Senior HS years, she started getting an interest in medicine and wanted to become a surgeon but she also liked the idea of teaching. After some research she learned after getting her Ph.D. in Medicine she would also have the qualification to become a professor but she can also still be a surgeon. She wanted to go to Tokyo University, one of the top universities in Japan. She studied hard and all that hard work paid off after she got the acceptance letter. After graduation, she had a few months before she had to move to Tokyo for school. During those months she stayed close to her family and friends before she moved away.

During her first few weeks, she went to a friend's wedding. During that time she met someone named Akiya Kusanagi. They were invited to the wedding as friends and kinda were just there awkwardly. They started talking and hit it off pretty quickly, they both also enjoyed the wedding atmosphere and joked around saying they should have one. After a few months of being friends, they started dating and continued to date until they got married. (NOTE: I think this during the time that she had Kumiko but I might be wrong and I can't be bother to figure it out)

The first few years of university were stressful though she had Akiya on her side to help her beside that she had no other friends. She continued this for 2 years before the stress got to her. It was a cold Monday morning and Namiko was waiting for the train, she already wasn’t having the best morning as she spilled her lunch all over the floor, the elevator wasn’t working and she recently hurt her ankle a few days ago and to put the icing on top of the cake she had a migraine. As she sat on the bench waiting for her train she suddenly got very overwhelmed, all the sounds were causing her head to throb in pain and she started to panic. She doesn’t remember much besides waking up with paramedics surrounding her. She wasn't worried about what happened, she was worried she was gonna miss school.

The first thing she did was ask about what time it was, the paramedics tried to calm her down but she continued to worry. After a few minutes, she calmed down and started speaking to the paramedics who were worried about her. They encouraged her to go to the hospital to get checked out and after a bit of convincing, she agreed. She got checked out and had a psych evaluation, they were very worried about the stress she was under. They encouraged her to drop a few courses as she was taking a lot at the time but being stubborn Namiko did not listen to them. There was nothing much for them to do besides start therapy. Namiko started listening to them 3 weeks later when she passed out again due to stress.

In early May Akiya and Namiko decided to go on a small vacation to Okinawa for a few weeks to get away and relax. On the 3rd day of their vacation, they were walking on the beaches of Okinawa and stopped to watch the sunset. As the sun slowly set over the horizon Akiya would pull out a sparkling diamond ring and get down on one knee and purpose. Of course, Namiko said yes. After a few months of planning, they decided on a Shinto wedding ceremony. On the day of the wedding, the Nomura’s and Kusanagi’s gathered around at Meiji Shrine to watch Akiya and Namiko’s wedding. Namiko decided to take the Kusanagi last name and after the papers were finalized, she was Namiko Kusanagi from that day on.

After that, she just focused on her medical degree. In 2007 she would graduate and begin her career working towards being a surgeon. She worked at Tokyo University Hospital and loved it so much. A few years after Namiko was working her father suddenly got sick and had to retire early. Her parents decided to move to Tokyo to be around Namiko and go back to their old house. Her father passed away from lung cancer 4 months after the diagnosis. Namiko and Akiya tried for a baby and succeeded. 9 months later in 2007 Ayaka and Ayako Kusanagi were born.

Namiko and Akiya continued to work and raise their children. In 2013 Namiko wanted to change her path, she enjoyed being a surgeon but she also always wanted to teach. She got a job opportunity at Tokyo University and accepted it. She decided to teach there for about 7 years until Akiya got a job opportunity at the Karakura Community College as vice-dean so they moved out to Karakura and Namiko applied to teach at the school. Now Namiko and Akiya along with the twins live together in Karakura. Namiko is a professor at the school teaching Traumatology and Akiya is the vice dean. Though she still suffers from anxiety it is not as bad and she will continue teaching as long as she can.
