What is your motivation to lead a club within the school? (250+ words)
My motivation to lead the Narrative Arts Club comes from wanting to create a calm, welcoming space for students who express themselves through both words and art. Creativity has always been part of how I navigate the world, especially when things feel overwhelming or uncertain. Sketching nature, writing small scenes, and observing the world around me have helped me understand my own experiences, and I want to give other students a place to do the same.
Many clubs focus on one form of creativity, but narrative art comes from the connection between images and ideas of how a sketch can spark a story, or how a piece of writing can inspire a drawing. I want to build a club where students can explore that connection without pressure, judgment, or the need to be perfect. A quiet, supportive environment can help people discover sides of themselves they didn’t know they had.
I’ve also always been drawn to leadership that is steady and grounded rather than loud or forceful. I believe a leader should guide with calmness, understanding, and consistency. I’m motivated to lead because I value spaces where people feel safe being themselves, especially those who might not fit comfortably in large or noisy groups.
Creating a club like this isn’t just about art or writing, it's about supporting people, helping them grow, and giving them a place to breathe, imagine, and connect. I want to offer a space that feels meaningful, peaceful, and inspiring, and I believe the Narrative Arts Club can become that for many students.
Why choose you over other candidates applying for this position? (50+ words)
I offer a blend of creative writing and artistic experience, along with a calm, organized leadership style that helps keep the club welcoming and focused. My passion for storytelling and sketching is what inspired me to create this club with my friends, and I want to bring that same creativity and warmth to everyone who joins. I’d treat all members with respect, support their ideas, and help build a unique, cozy space where creativity can really grow.

Provide one school-wide event that your club may host
The Narrative Arts Club would host a school-wide “Creative Expressions Showcase Contest,” where students can submit either a short written piece, or an original sketch, or a combined entry featuring both. Participants can write stories, poems, or scenes, or create character sketches, illustrations, or abstract art whatever form of expression they enjoy. Entries are judged on creativity, originality, and how clearly the student’s ideas come through.
Provide one flash event that your club may host
A pop-up lunch event where students pick up a simple prompt like “raindrop,” “shadow,” or “forgotten object” and can choose to sketch it, write a short story or poem, or do both. Entries are quick, creative pieces that encourage experimentation and self-expression. Completed work is displayed on a small board outside the club room for the day so everyone can see and enjoy the creative results.
Provide one club activity that your club might host
Each week, the club hosts a “Prompt & Create” session where members receive a creative prompt such as a scene, character idea, or object and can choose to either sketch it, write about it, or do both. Members spend time quietly working on their pieces, then have the option to share their work with the group for feedback and discussion. This activity encourages creativity, exploration, and personal expression in a relaxed, supportive environment.
