Backstory:
He was born on August 15, 1992, in Perugia, Italy. Nick is the son of Carlo Baggio, a male Italian professor born in Rome, and Angela Di Rieti, a female Italian lawyer born in Napoli. At an early age, Nick experienced the crude reality of being raised in poor conditions; most of the time, the family barely had food to eat at dinners. His father, an alcoholic, used to argue with Angela and Nick, blaming them for being the reason why he lost his job as a teacher in a nearby school and blaming them for being the cause of those circumstances. At age 9, his mother passed away in front of Nick due to a local gang shutout taking place nearby, leaving Nick and his brother under his father's watch, who didn't want to take care of them. In his early adolescence, Nick escaped home and lived near Milano to find a better life; however, he failed in doing so because he missed home and his family, forcing him to go back to his father, whom will punish him severely. At the age of 15, his little brother, Marco dies in a car accident while arguing with Nick over the roles in the house and why Nick decided to escape when they need him. -His last words were "I hate you."- After this event, Nick became more reserved, often writing in a journal some of his thoughts and ideas, he became to ask himself existentialistic thoughts that often made him forget where's he at. A few days later the accident, his father left town and sent Nick with his grandmother, an old lady that was in her last moments of life. While living with his grandmother, he was told by her that life, even though is harsh and complicated, it has a lot of happy moments and joy; Nick, although still depressed about the loss of his mother and brother, felt that he was being comprehended for the first time in years. One day, his grandmother told him that he will need to go to a school far away from home; she wanted Nick to experience being in a new place, because that would bring him helpful experiences and contacts in the future. He struggled -specially with the language- while being in Karakura. In his free time, he sent letters to his grandmother in order to keep track of the now almost non existing family. After a few weeks, unfortunately, she would had died because of a heart attack back while sleeping; her last letter to Nick said "There's no time in this world for pain and hate. I don't have much time and you are nearly an adult. Be good Nick, I will always be there." Nick became the last Baggio, apart from his father, in the family.
