Describe your activity on the server:
My activity on SRP is fairly good, spending the majority of the day (plus nights sometimes) on the server.
Being a part of the Event Team and taking into consideration my previous roles (Mainly HS Fem Football Captain), I'd like to believe that shows my commitment to my mentioned roles. Though I would like to bring up my timezone and how that may 'affect' my activity within the foreseeable future, due to me being Australian and the large time zone gap between my country and others, it could be seen as an issue but truthfully, my activity has never faltered and is not an issue on my behalf - I've still been able to attend events, scheduled meetings and so on.
Outside of SRP, I am employed in a part-time position, which entails unpredictable shifts and having to sometimes cover on short notice (Which is highly unlikely, but it may happen). Sometimes my shifts are sparse and I only have one shift per week, then other times my weeks are jam-packed with shifts and long working hours. Even still, my activity has never decreased; no matter the case, I always get a notice when I am scheduled to work, which makes planning around my schedule and communicating a lot easier for me.
This is my current playtime throughout both my accounts, as I'm writing this application.
What is your motivation for applying?:
My motivation for applying stems from a range of reasons. One of which is the fact that I want to push myself and get out of my comfort zone - something I didn’t do when I used to play. I originally joined SRP late 2019, up until I took a loooong break sometime around 2021-2022 before coming back and reconnecting at the start of this year. This time around, I decided I wanted to try and experience things I hadn’t gotten the chance to try before, i.e, JockRP and different factions. Another reason for applying to this wave of applicants is friends. I do have a few friends within the faction, which has helped me tremendously to understand and get a ‘feel’ for the faction and has overall piqued my interest. My friends have been nothing but outgoing with praise for the faction, often raving about how they adore it and how fun they have within it, which has swayed me to apply.
What knowledge do you have of Police Work?
Though my knowledge isn’t extensive, I do know and understand the roles and rankings, along with the commonly utilized equipment and common duties they perform.
RANKS:
There are two divisions within the faction: the Main Division and the Detective Division.
Commissioner – Faction Lead
The Commissioner is the highest role in KPD and is appointed to whoever runs the Faction; they also oversee and maintain the faction. They are responsible for choosing the new officers, along with making a majority of changes.
MAIN DIVISION | DETECTIVE DIVISION |
Captain – Higher up Captains are the second-highest rank within the faction. Captains are in charge of the Main Division. This rank is given to/held by only the most trustworthy and reliable member of the faction. | Detective Superintendent – Higher up The DSI oversees the Detective Division and is also the second-highest rank within the faction. Like Captain, this rank is only given/held by the most trustworthy and reliable member within the faction. |
Lieutenant – Higher up Obtaining this rank means they are now a higher-up within the faction and hold a new set of responsibilities; they help manage the lower ranks and have more of a say in decisions regarding changes that may occur. | Detective Chief Inspector – Higher up The DCI, like the Lieutenant, are now high-ups within the faction, holding a new set of responsibilities; helping manage the lower ranks within their division. |
Sergeant This rank is given to members who have shown absolute determination and reliability in situations. They are given more access to tools and responsibilities, but aren't considered a higher-up. | Detective Inspector This rank is given to members who have shown absolute determination and reliability in situations, meaning they have more responsibilities within the faction, i.e, training the Constables |
Corporal Corporals are given to members within the faction who have proved themselves active and dedicated enough for this promotion. | Detective Sergeant Once a Constable has passed their exam, they can attain this rank, earning the base abilities within this division. |
Patrol Officer Patrol Officers are the rank above Cadets. You attain this role after passing your exams. They hold the base abilities. | Detective Constable After passing the Cadet exam, members can express interest in the Detective Division. If they are picked to swap divisions, they will become Constables and ongo more training. |
Cadets
And last but not least is Cadets, the role appointed to you when you first join KPD - the lowest role in the ranking. Whilst you are in this rank, you can not patrol alone or go off-duty; you will also be set to attend training (Informational and Physical training), and then after two weeks, you will be tested on that training by taking an exam.
EQUIPEMENT:
Whilst there are physical in-game items KPD use, they are also ItemRP equipment, which they use in their day-to-day duties, such as;
Luminol Spray – A substance used to identify blood on surfaces, mainly on weapons, unless cleaned with hydrogen peroxide or bleach and water.
First-Aid Kit – A small-sized kit used when an ambulance/EMT service isn't available. When used, it will grant 5 additional minutes to the bleed-out timer.
Fingerprint Scanner – Used to scan a suspect's fingerprints. It can be used to tell if a fingerprint sample has matched a target's results.
Police Baton
▸The police baton is a short-ranged tool, often used to help officers protect themselves. It may also knock out an individual after two hits.
Handcuffs
▸ Handcuffs are used, day-to-day, by officers, often to restrain the suspect's hands.
Stun Blaster
▸The Stun Blaster is a long-ranged tool to help officers by stunning a target to prevent them from moving (Stun lasts 60 seconds).
Pepper Spray
▸Pepper Spray is a mid-range tool used to temporarily bind the individual.
Riot Shield
▸A tempered-glass shield to help protect the officer from any face-forward threat.
Tranqulizer
▸A Tranqulizer is a long-range weapon used to neutralize threats. After a successful hit, the target is unconscious for 2 minutes. This tool is also only available upon reaching Sergeant, Detective Inspectors, and above.
DUTIES:
Arresting/Detaining
▸When an individual has broken the law or is suspected of doing so, they may be arrested or detained.
Front Desk
▸Taking reports, handling bails, and visits, and or answering any questions.
Patrols
▸A set path taken by officers to help ensure there is no active danger or crime.
Raids
▸A raid is mainly done to detain any illegal weaponry, usually after a suspect has been arrested.
Inmate Care
▸This entails overseeing visitations, maintaining physical activity, and so on.
Why is Police important to SchoolRP?
SchoolRP allows the player the option (alongside other paths, i.e, JockRP, FactionRP, and more) to lead their character down a path of crime, whether it be joining a gang or common crime - the option stands, and what comes with this option is the need for law enforcement to help maintain the safety of Karakura and lower the crime rate. KPD is also important to maintain a level of realism; you can’t allow crime without adding a sense of suspense and wary, that being KPD.
Do you acknowledge that if training is held whilst you are online, you are needed to attend or you will be punished?
Yes, training is an important part of being a Cadet, and avoiding that will result in punishment.

Describe your character; how they look, what makes them unique?
She's the equivalent of blossoming flora, a fawn finding the strength to hold itself up. Lei holds a unique quirkiness to herself, an inquisitive twinkle in her eye, and over-the-top eccentric hand movements every time she speaks, which reflects her persona perfectly - innocent, curious, doe-shaped chocolate hues, waves of auburn tresses mapping her soft, delicate features, and adorning specks of freckles, stimming across her cheeks and nose. A refreshing breath of air, a comforting character.
How does your character act in a professional/casual situation?
As soon as she sets foot into a professional space, Lei tries her best to keep and maintain her composure, trying her hardest not to be 'her usual quirky self' or be perceived as 'overwhelming' or 'over-the-top' by her co-workers, striving to create a balance. Though her natural curiosity and animated self often slip through, however dialed back to preserve her professionalism amongst peers.
However, outside the constraints of formality - in more casual situations, Lei is entirely in her element, her genuine self fully on display, shining through - her hands moving, dancing expressively as she allows words to flow out of her lips, laughter and conversation spilling easily, flowing freely. Small talks turning into meaningful, lengthy exchanges of conversation, her eyes alight with interest and empathy.
What is their outlook on the idea of co-workers & teamwork?
Lei prefers working and being surrounded by people; her outgoing nature flourishes in these environments. Lei also heavily values creating a space for collaboration, a space where people can freely express ideas and can openly communicate. To Lei, she cherishes working in a team environment, finding joy in the meaningful exchanges and strengthening bonds with her peers, even if it is just work-related.
What's your character's backstory?
"My little fawn."
Ages: 0-14
In Hilo, Hawaiʻi - sometime before nightfall, a beautiful, eager baby girl entered the world. The eldest child of three in the Lei family. Even as a newborn, her family all knew she was going to be a handful, a wild child - often getting into mischief, climbing cabinets, managing to flee the safety of her home walls. Hoʻoikaika grew up fairly stable, her family close-knit, meaning dinners often echoed with chatter and laughter, each harmonious vibration bouncing off person to person, like something contagious.
As a toddler and after learning the greatest gift of all time - walking, Hoʻoikaika was unstoppable, always stumbling about, wandering alone into the forest, splashing in small puddles, puttering into busy markets, all this fueled by her never-failing curiosity to see more, learn more. Her poor parents often had mini-panic attacks due to Lei's constant disappearances, fearing their child's independence. Hoʻoikaika was often scolded for adventuring away, being placed under constant supervision. By the time she went into middle school, she felt trapped - like a bird whose wings have been clipped, often yearning to be rid of her chains and wanting to explore the mystery of everything, everything quoted and told followed with a question from her - 'Why?', always a 'why?' and a 'how?', her natural curiousity allowed her to excell at school, even though she was extremely smart, Hoʻoikaika's social presence never haultered - friends came easy to the chatter box, whilst her lips ran rampant, the jewels and bracelets decorating her wrist jingled - it was a joke amongst peers that you could hear Lei from a mile away, though jokes Lei viewed them otherwise, she saw her curiousity as something to be judged, something negative causing Hoʻoikaika to slowly dim her light, shying it away from others to better not be judged or bullied for it.
"A dimmed light."
Ages: 14-19
High school didn't come easily for the curious fawn; new challenges brought up - Hoʻoikaika was outgoing still, but also sensitive, too quick to care, too quick to hurt. She learned that people could misunderstand her enthusiasm for arrogance, her honesty for intensity. The other kids often called her 'overwhelming', 'too loud', 'too sensitive', and much more. Her dimming light dimmed much more, becoming barely a yellow hue, barely a slight twinkle in her eye. Her once expressive, toothy smile faltered to just a lippy half-grin, her eyes always averting other people's - not engaging in long exchanges with anyone, her once brightly designed shell removed to just a mute beige, often hiding her inside it.
Even as Lei grew up, she slowly allowed herself to pick up her natural curiosity, trying to come out of that muted beige shell and find herself in something, her eyes still averted, but they landed on people from afar, often studying and seeing. Hoʻoikaika saw many things during this prolonged period of aloofness, often not very good things - crime-related things. Now, at a standstill battle with her strong moral compass and her shyness, timidity - Lei had a choice, to report what she'd see or to remain quiet, though not an easy choice, nonetheless, she made one, one she would carry to regret for the foreseeable future. She remained quiet. The consequences of that choice were irreparable. Her choice caused unimaginable damage to a family - a robbery gone wrong. A family left broken, and since that day, Lei had been in a constant mental battle, vowing to lead a life of law and order, aiming to repair the sin and guilt her timidness had caused.
After Lei graduated from High school with flying colours and with a newfound 'passion', she quickly dug her head back into the textbooks, studying and pursuing her vow to live a life of law and order, promising to protect others, and with what better way to do that than to pursue a profession of being a police officer?
"Blossoming flora."
Ages: 19-32 / Present time
Whilst in the midst of her studies, an opportunity arose - A scholarship to study abroad in Japan. Lei jumped at this opportunity, her curious nature starting to peek out from that muted beige shell, and the hint of an inquisitive twinkle started to glint in her eyes. A new place, filled with unfamiliar faces and culture, a new language to learn, a new environment to thrive in - a fresh start, leaving all her past traumas and anxieties on that god forsaken island. Her wings were no longer clipped.
While studying abroad, spending time away from her island home, Lei gradually started to come out of her shell. Her curiosity slowly making an appearance, she started asking 'why?' and 'how?' again, though making sure to keep it dialed back in public spaces. Whilst putting most of her effort into her studies, Lei didn't stray away from trying to make friends; her old outgoing self, too, started to come out of hiding, the long exchanges and slightly rapid-fire speech, along with the expressive hand gestures, followed suit.
After graduating with a PHD in criminal justice, along with a bachelor's in criminology, Hoʻoikaika, after her extensive amount of study, was now free. Where would the fawn go to explore now? With no chains or clipped wings to hold her back - what was the plan? Lei, seemingly going back to her roots in island life, ultimately decided to move to Karakura, an island just off the coast of Japan, where she would apply for a spot within the island's police force.

[GEN KNOWLEDGE]
Can you legally own a pocket knife in Karakura?
"No, a pocket knife is considered an illegal weapon and therefore, if caught, it would lead to a charge: possession of illegal weaponry."
Name 5 medical items that do NOT require a prescription
Wooden canes for ¥7,000.
Cough syrup for ¥6,000.
Unbranded Bandage for ¥1,000.
Melatonin for ¥3,000.
Multivitamins for ¥3,500.
If you see your co-workers physically abusing an inmate, what should you do?
"The first course of action would be separation, separating both parties from each other and making sure they remain at a safe distance. After calling for backup, preferably a higher-up to help assess the situation, though, if the backup isn't a higher-up, I would work closely with the other individual to help maintain the scene and de-escalate the situation any further, then- Of course, I would report the incident to a higher-up, giving them my point of view."
What should you do if you see your co-worker being assaulted?
"Like I answered before- The first question. My course of action would be similar, but I would proceed with complete and utter caution due to the unknown nature of the situation. As said before, I'd radio immediately for backup and report the location and nature of the incident across to other officers. As I approach, I'd give loud verbal commands for the aggressor to stop and separate, trying to distance them. If all my commands go unheard and ignored, I would intervene physically using any police tools necessary to neutralize the threat, prioritizing safety and control of the situation."
What do you do if you find out that your co-worker is corrupt and is helping criminal organizations?
"Firstly, I'd be flabbergasted that an officer would or even could do something like that, helping criminals? That officer surely has no moral compass. In that situation, my immediate response would be to bring the matter to someone with higher authority, though if possible, I would try to gather information and evidence, only IF it were safe to do so."
How would you react to a criminal trying to bribe you?
"Who in their right mind tries to bribe an officer?! Whatever the matter- That's an easy fine. Using bribery as a way to claw your way through life is sad, pathetic, even."
