WRITING PROMPTS
Writing prompt #1
Write a 200+ word essay on an average day for your character in Karakura.
Bright and early, Myeong wakes up in her small but cozy bedroom. She’ll slap her shrek poster good morning before sleepily slipping her uniform and shoes on. She’d attempt to get her siblings up and out of bed, most days unsuccessful, before running to the school gates to greet her group of friends. Originally she’d spend her times in between classes up on the track field practicing and running after boys. She even carved a small “uwu” into her favorite tree next to where the track used to be. Her and her siblings used to crawl and play around it all day as she’d run and help others to run better. Since the track has been moved next to the new baseball field she mainly spends her time along the gate walls. Can’t help but to stare at the hot cops passing by from time to time. Some say she’s crazy but something about a man in a uniform just drives her wild. If she’s not flirting with the local volleyball boy, simping on cops, or running the track she’s usually found in class. Can’t say she participates much but she’s always there for a good laugh. After school she can be found either on her roof top yelling at citizens passing by or at the beach where the turtles used to roam. A lot of her friends and family members have slipped from the roof recently so she tries her best to not be up there anymore. Though it is quite addicting. Sadly when she’s on the beach she can’t stay long. Might as well call her an unpaid babysitter because her family is always calling her to get out of deep trouble they found themselves in. It’s not hard work but it’s work she enjoys at the end of the day. Family means a lot to her so she’ll run to do just anything for them.
Writing prompt #2
Write a 300+ word essay on your character. Tell us about his/her history? What leads them to be the way they are?
The Jin family, Karakura citizens yet born in Busan, South Korea, are a small but lovely family. While raised in Busan Myeong learned very quickly how luck comes to people born with it rather than given. Their father, Kwang Jin, wasn’t the nicest he could be even if he favored Myeong over the others. His insults crashed against her and her siblings like waves in a cold ocean, the saltiness running straight from his angered mind to their innocent ones. Her father never stayed with their mothers for long though, his daughters paid the price well enough though. Seomi, the second born, was the only one who got out of most of it without scars. Her mother knew their father all too well and kept the baby in her sweet arms before he could even attempt to grab her. Myeong didn’t get the same treatment for a long time. She stayed at home with her father who drank until he no longer felt the heavy weight of the world. From Seomi’s mother to Lyra’s then onto Degasi’s their father made it very clear he only enjoyed their company for a short while.
When Myeong turned 16 she had the privilege to attend a full year term of school at Karakura, leaving all her family and friends behind. The year was sadly one of the better ones she’s had. She never knew what a quiet safe home could be like but she found happiness in it fast. So when she had to go back home her heart was crushed. Her sisters all welcomed her with opened arms and warm hugs but it just wasn’t the same. At the age for 17 Myeong got fed up, their home life wasn’t desired by any of them and their father was starting to take it out of them all personally. Their lives were just payment for his past deeds and he made sure to let them all know that he was too rich in payment. While he was passed out, Myeong and her siblings slowly packed their items; Only taking what was needed before running as far as they could. So they ran, the wind nor the sun could keep up with them when their hearts were in their minds. Myeong did what she had to, took her family to the only happiness she had truly known. They settled with Myeongs Transfer Family for a little while until they could find their own place to stay. Myeong hasn’t ever looked back and counted her hardships as blessings and will do whatever she can not to go back home to Busan.
