KARAKURA POLICE DEPARTMENT POLICE OFFICER APPLICATION

Out-Of-Character (OOC) Section

IGN (In-Game Name):
Bqeno

Discord Name & Tag: BQENØ#7908

Previous bans:

I only have one ban which was back in 2020, it was for
avoidRP but it was a misunderstanding since my laptop at the time crashed and after I appealed I got unbanned. Other than that I have no other bans. I also have a better setup so I no longer worry about crashing in combat situations.

Describe your activity on the server:

I started playing SRP at the start of 2020. I have been playing it for almost 3 years now. Throughout the server, I have tried a few different factions and communities. I first was a part of GangRP and have always been a part of it for years until recently. I have been a part of many well-known gangs such as the original River, Kishi and other gangs which were around in 2020 which I forgot the name of since it was so long ago. While I was a part of Kishi I wanted to explore other things on SRP so applied to be a school nurse. I got denied for this role but then I applied for teacher instead since they had said that they encouraged me to do so and got accepted. I was a p.e teacher for around 2 months. I was very active as a teacher and got the teacher of the month award for the second month. I ended up then quitting being a teacher because I got bored of that type of job since it didn’t really require much action and effort that I was looking for in the server since I wanted to have more motivation to stay on the server. After I quit that job I carried on with GangRP for a few months before I decided that I wanted to try and find something else on the server other than this. I felt like I already experienced everything that GangRP has to offer since I've already been a part of using different types of perms, and gang events from trashing a shop to raiding KPD, I have been a part of two gang wars, I helped with training some new members. I quit GangRP for a while since I applied for KPD for the first time. Unfortunately, I was denied. After this, I carried on with gangRP since I didn't really know what else I wanted to do on the server but then quit for good around the end of August this year. I then started to find some interest in football on the server which lead me to try out for the HS Female football team which I am still a part of now and have been for many months now. I, in fact, am now co-captain of the team which is why I am not planning on leaving at any point however if it is that being KPD requires me to quit this team I will do so. A month ago I also applied for shopkeeper but also got denied due to someone else taking the store I applied for. I still want to join another part of the SRP community so I can build more experiences than what I am used to and start to conclude what I wanted to do while on the server.

As for how much time each day I spend on the server, I spend quite a lot of time each day online. I of course still do have some real-life responsibilities such as college and I need to make sure I always put that first before anything. But this does not mean that I can’t come online every day for a few hours. Since I am in college I can usually stay up late since on most days I start during the afternoon. On weekends, I am most free and always am already on my PC even if it is on another game I can easily come on SRP if you DM me or ping me in any way.

Which timezone are you in?: GMT

What is your motivation for applying?:

There are many different things that motivate me to apply. The first thing is that I still want to build more roleplay skills and be a part of new experiences. I want to be able to see how it works within the faction and learn from people who have been a part of the faction for a long time. I think it would be fun to see the opposite side of gangRP since of course I've been a part of the gangRP community for a long time. I want to see how the KPD find people who are committing crimes and if it is hard to catch them. Of course, I am aware there are special protocols for different events and I think it would be a good skill to have since it takes some thinking to be able to do something more efficiently and safely. I want to be able to experience everything from being on patrol to raiding houses. I want to learn how I can take on the different challenges that come with being on KPD. Secondly, I actually am interested in this type of work OOCLY. I am currently studying criminology and law in college which is something I love doing. I am also planning on going into policing in real life too. Of course, I know that SRP Police will not be the same as how it is in real life, but I am not expecting that. However, I think that the fact I am into this subject already will keep me motivated in staying in the faction and will lead me to have more fun than I usually would with factions which I never really had any interest in before. Lastly, I already knew a few people who already got accepted into KPD the last wave which will make it easier for me to have the confidence to ask for help when I need it and make me feel more comfortable in the environment.

What knowledge do you have of Police Work?:

Visitations
When someone is in prison for something their friends and family are allowed to visit them. For this to happen you need to ask the arresting officer of the person you want to visit. However, during these visitations, you need to follow certain rules.

Rule 1: No use of other languages
Rule 2: No violent behaviour
Rule 3: Only allowed to visit them for 20 ICLY minutes which is 5 OOCLY minutes.

If they break any of these rules then the officer will end the visitation.

Paperwork / Desk work
If the police officer does not have any emergency calls or have anything else that they have been assigned to do. They can do some paperwork. The paperwork includes things such as informing someone about someone's bail. Allowing them to bail someone out of jail.

However, another thing is that some people may come and want to report a crime that has happened. When this happens you will allow them to talk to you privately in an integration room if they report it in the station or just in another area where no one else can hear you if you were out on patrol. After, they give you all the information you can then use it to catch the person they have reported.

Mugshots
When someone is arrested they a mugshot will be taken of them. This will be posted on the emergency discord where the public can see it. The information will be the IGN, RP name and what they are arrested for. This will help the police see if they have been charged with something before and if they have any records. They can use the information from the mugshots to identify them and also to use it against them when questioning.

Patrols
Officers are often seen around the city on patrol. Each officer will have to be with another officer while they do this. They will have a certain route which they will have to take. During these patrols, they can pat down any individuals who may have a mask on or look like they have been a part of a fight or suspicious activity. When patting them down you will have to put them on a nearby wall and switch positions with them so your back is on the wall while the other officer is in front of them. This means that it is harder for them to evade. Once they have put them in that position then they can pat them down for any illegal items.

Weapons
If the officer finds some sort of weapon on them they will need to see if it's a legal or illegal weapon. The legal weapons that you can have to include a metal bat. There are also other things such as ballistic and gas masks however they do not class as a weapon. However, if they still find a legal weapon they need to spray the bat with luminol to check for any blood on the bat or for any dents. If they do have some blood on it then they will have to detain them for questioning on why it has blood on the bat. However, if it has no blood and just dents then the officer will ask them for proof of them using it for its purpose. If they do not provide this proof then they will take it off them and they will have to pay a fee to be able to get it back. Furthermore, under legal weapons, the officer will ask you for ID since there are some people who have a felony in their records and will not be allowed to have a bat or ballistic mask. If they do have a record they will be taken away and fined.

As for illegal weapons, these include katanas, crowbars, fire axe, spiked bats, pocket knives, knuckle dusters, nagi, tactical knives and sai. If they are found with any of these weapons then they will be instantly taken away and they will be arrested under illegal weaponry. Another thing is that they will most likely get raided if they have a house or apartment. The bail for them will depend on how many weapons are found. However, they will also spray their weapon with luminol to check for any blood. If there is blood they will not only get arrested but also questioned to see if there are any more crimes that they have committed.

Drugs/Alcohol
Another thing an officer needs to look out for when patting down people is medical drugs and any sort of alcohol. If they have a drug which needs a prescription then they will need to show their prescription as well as their ID. If they fail to do this then they will get fined. This includes if this prescription is on their other character. Another thing is alcohol, for you to be able to have alcohol you need to be the age of 20+. For the officer to confirm this they need to check their ID. It is possible that the person has a fake ID which is why you can not metagame their age. However, there are some reasons why a fake ID may not work. It could be that the person has high-school attire such as a sports team jacket which already tells the officer that they are underage. If they are underage it will be taken off them and they will also be given a fine. The fine will depend on how much alcohol you have.

Raids
Adding onto the fact that someone has illegal weapons their apartment will get searched. Usually what happens is that there will be a group of officers who will break through the doors and chests in your apartment and are allowed to take any illegal weapons and add it to your bail. However, if you just have the keys to the apartment and you do not own it then they can not raid it unless they physically see you enter the apartment with a weapon through using the CCTV or if they see your personally. Another reason they may raid is if they see suspicious activity going on in front of an apartment on CCTV. This could be masked people who are trying to break into an apartment.

CCTV
Throughout the whole city, there are many CCTV cameras placed. Police are allowed to look through the CCTV as long as it is owned by the city and not owned by private property. The types of property that the police can not have direct access to the CCTV is shops, Towers, gang turfs, fight club, reporter building, school and estates. A camera can only see 30 blocks and in order for an officer to be able to look through the CCTV they need staff to be there. The reason police may need CCTV is that they might be trying to find a certain person if they evaded them during a chase or if someone reported them for doing a crime. Or they could be simply just looking through in case there is something that they miss.

Crime hotspots
When a crime is being committed it's very rare to see it happen out in the public. This is why police need to be aware of the crime hotspots. The places where crimes are mostly committed are the forest, sewers, abandoned power plants, in-between houses, beaches, boats, old Kishi turf and any places which are unpopulated or may not have any CCTV. It is important to check these places regularly on patrols since it could be that there is a crime happening in those areas.

Rolling
When an officer does an action. They are allowed to roll 200 since they are trained. A regular person over the age of 18 can only roll 150. This means that officers will have a better advantage since they can roll higher.

Equipment
Police will have access to special equipment which they can use during their duty. It is important for a police officer to be aware of what each thing is used for and also that they are aware of the stats each one of them has.

Glock-17 - This gun will only be used by higher-ranked officers. They can use this to shoot any criminals which have a weapon. They could be attacked by the criminal or the criminal could be trying to evade them. Usually, the officer will shoot the criminal's leg to make them fall down or in extreme cases, they will shoot their head. After they shoot them they will get them medical help while they are guarded and then after they will be detained. A Glock-17 is not allowed to be mugged by anyone and has a cooldown. They can only shoot 3 times before having to reload.

Taser - This piece of equipment will be used by all officers. This is mostly used in cases where the criminal is evading. This will make them fall down and be stunned for 1 minute before they can act again. Once they have been stunned they will be searched if they have not been already then arrested for evasion along with any other charges they may have. However, tasers can also not be mugged and also have a cooldown before they can be used again. The range of a taser is 7 blocks.

Handcuffs - These is used by all officers and will be used to arrest criminals. Once the handcuffs are on they will be jailed at the police station. They do not need to be escorted to the station since they will be automatically tped there once the officer has actioned. When they are jailed they will then be given their bail or be questioned depending on the situation. Handcuffs can not be mugged by anyone.

Radio - This is also used by all officers. This is used to communicate with other officers or it can be used to communicate with the EMS. There are certain codes that the police have that officers will say to be able to give an idea of what is happening. Also in cases where there is someone hurt they can call for EMS. Another thing that the radio has is a button known as code zero. Once this button is pressed it means that the officer needs backup instantly because they have been hurt or are in danger. Officers will immediately come to their area to help them. Radios can not be mugged by anyone.

Bodycam - A bodycam is used by all officers. This is a way that they can protect themselves and gather evidence of someone doing a crime. When out in a situation it's very hard for them to prove that someone is guilty without evidence. Therefore they record everything while they are on duty. This footage can be used against them during questioning or during court.

Phone - A phone is something everyone in the city has however, police will have special phones which can access the 101 calls. When someone is in danger and needs police they will call this emergency number where they can talk directly to an officer. The officer will ask questions them which can help them catch the criminal or help the victim. A phone can be mugged, however, only if they are holding it in a place where a crime has been committed.

Baton - A baton is used by all officers. This is very similar to a regular bat. This is used to KO any criminals which are dangerous and are close to harming someone. To KO them you need to hit the person twice on the head successfully. The only downside to a baton is that it can be mugged out of the hand if they roll successfully. The range of a baton is 2 blocks.

Police tape - When an incident happens police are allowed to place police tape around the area which will stop people from going into that area and putting themselves in danger or interrupting the crime scene. This is usually used during an event where there are a lot of people around the area. For this, to work they need to action it and ask a staff member to place the blocks for them.

Uniform - Each officer will have a certain uniform that they will wear. The uniform will depend on which rank they are. This is used because it helps the public being able to spot officers in case they need help from one. As well, will let people know that they have authority.

Ranks

Commissioner [1/1]

Police captain [1/1]

Police detective superintendent [1/1]

Police detective chief inspector [2/2]

Police detective inspector [1/4]

Police detective constable [3/3]

Police lieuteant [2/3]

Why is Police important to SchoolRP?:

It is important for officers to be in SRP because there is a large growing community of gang RP. There are constantly new gangs which are being made with many members who commit crimes regularly. In order for it to be more realistic and fun for both sides there needs to be an authority. Officers need to help with keeping things in control in the city and protect other people who may be victims of such vicious behaviour. It adds more roleplay to the community.

Another reason why police are important is for the government side of SRP. They are the ones who make the laws and the police will help by making sure all of them are enforced. It also could be that someone is being sued in court and they will need officers to be able to guard the event and take the person to jail if they are guilty of the offences.

Do you acknowledge that you're subject to being demoted if accepted at any given time?:
Yes, I understand.

Do you acknowledge that by applying for this role, you are agreeing to be 100% dedicated to the Police Officer role?:
I understand.

Do you acknowledge that if training is held whilst you are online, you are needed to attend or you will be punished?:
I understand and I will make sure that I attend all of the training lessons.

26

Character's gender & pronouns:

Character's Academic Background
(Grade-12/Bachelors/Masters/PhD):

What languages are you proficient in besides Japanese?: German and Korean

Describe your character; how they look, what makes them unique?:

image_2022-12-25_165749116-removebg-preview.png

How does your character act in a professional/casual situation?:

Since my character has become mature since a young age she is very professional during her work. She was always a hard worker and made sure that she can provide for her family when her mother couldn't. She doesn't mind taking any risks during her work and she wants to help in any way possible. She can become very protective of people that she is close to and will do anything to make sure whoever did something wrong will get punished by using the correct measures. One thing that may stand out is that she is very independent. She often is focused on her work and doesn't seem to notice other people when in the working environment. She doesn't often ask for help unless she really needs it. She can be stubborn when someone tells her to relax because she knows that she needs to keep working in order to fulfil her goals. Her personality is brave and will always offer to help others with their work if they are struggling.

In a casual situation such as off-duty, she uses her spare time to make sure that she is all caught up with work. If she is already caught up with all the work she has she will then make sure that she is kept in touch with her family who live back in Korea and that she often spends time with her friends from college. She often takes them out to meals and always wants to be the one who pays. She is not a very money-driven person, of course, she makes sure that she can send money back to Korea for her younger brother and mother so they can be taken care of as well as making sure she is also taken care of. But as for things such as materialistic like fancy cars and big houses she never really cared much for them. Her personality out of work is that she always makes sure that she puts the people she cares about needs before her own. She can be serious at times but can also joke around when it is appropriate. She doesn't really date since she sees it as risky and wants to make sure that it will be someone who can take on all the pressure of helping her with all the heavy responsibilities she has.

What is their outlook on the idea of co-workers & teamwork?:

She is aware that she needs to have a good relationship with her co-workers in order for a comfortable environment. She will make sure that she is welcoming to any new co-workers and friendly whenever anyone talks to her. She will help any co-workers who are in need and doesn't mind putting her work on pause for them. If she needs help herself, however, she will first try her best to tackle the problem by herself. She will start to look at all different solutions before she will eventually give up and ask her co-workers for help. She wants to try and bond with her co-workers and might even invite them to go out when they are off-duty. She doesn't tend to talk about her private life with her co-workers because she rather them see her as her best self and stay professional and not get her personal problems to affect anyone else in the workspace.

When it comes to situations where she knows it is risky to try and do it alone she will make sure that she will bring some trusted co-workers along with her. She doesn't want to make room for any mistakes. However, if someone has to do a more risky role during an operation she will be the one who wants to take on that role to make sure that her co-workers are at less risk.

Do you see yourself as a leader or a follower? Why?:

She is more of a leader than a follower. She was always a role model for her younger brother while growing up which lead to her developing leadership skills. She always used these skills throughout her life and always stepped up to help others who need guidance. She knows what it is like to not have anyone who can lead you through situations where you are lost which is why she is very determined to make sure no one she knows will feel like that. If the situation is something that she has never experienced or has any idea on how to help she will do her best to do her own research on the topic and ask others about their experiences so she could have more knowledge and help that person who was in need. Even though she wants to be a leader she knows that sometimes even leaders need some help because it's impossible for her to know completely everything.

SECTION 2: GENERAL KNOWLEDGE

Can you legally own a pocket knife in Karakura?:

No, you can not own a pocket knife in Karakura and it is classified as an illegal weapon. If you are getting caught with one, you will be charged with possession of illegal weaponry as well as your apartment/house getting raided.

Name 5 medical items that do NOT require a prescription:
Eyepatch, Paracetamol, Birth control, Cough Syrup and surgical masks

If you see your co-workers physically abusing an inmate, what should you do?:

First, I would make sure that my body cam is on so I can capture what is happening in front of me. I would then make sure that after I have enough footage of the situation I would step in to make sure that it doesn't proceed any further and get any worse than it already is. After the situation has been controlled I will tell a superior officer and show them the footage that I have captured through my body cam. I will then allow them to take on the situation themselves and not get myself involved anymore unless asked.

What should you do if you see your co-worker being assaulted?:

First, I will make sure that I call for back-up if it is something that I see could get a lot more serious, I also will make sure to call for EMS to come to the location. After I do all of this I will instantly jump into action and help the co-worker and get the person off them as soon as possible. If I manage to get the person off them I will detain them since I do not know all their charges yet. Once I do this I will help my co-worker and wait with them until the EMS and back-up arrive in case there are other people who are waiting to try again. Once the back-up arrives I will go back to the station and question the person who had assaulted them and discuss with the assaulted co-worker what their punishment will be.

What do you do if you find out that your co-worker is corrupt and is helping criminal organizations?:

The very first thing I would do is make sure that this person has permission to do this OOCLY since I am aware that you can not be a corrupt officer unless the commissioner has approved it. If they do have permission then I will make sure that I gather ICLY evidence by using my body cam and questioning people who I believe that is helping. Once I think I have enough evidence of them being corrupt I will take it all to someone who is higher-up and show them the evidence which I have gathered. After they are made aware of what happened I will stay away from the situation since they are the ones who needs to handle it.

How would you react to a criminal trying to bribe you?:

If a criminal tries to bribe me I would not answer them and inform them that they can not do this, I would then fine them for bribing an officer.
