Hello and welcome back on SRP!
Unfortunately time zones are a thing and people of course have lives outside of the game or even are in other factions as well among many other factors, so this causes it to seem like there isn't always that many faculty. I will say the most active times for SRP are via the EST timezone in the later afternoon and evening hours during the week or afternoon and into the very late evening hours on the weekends for this timezone or timezones near it as the biggest audience of the playerbase is in or around that timezone OR BST timezone.
As an EST player, I usually see a peak of players between 2pm EST-7pmEST and if school hrs happen during that I usually see a good few number of faculty on. It is also the end of the month meaning most people no longer need quota as they have already filled it for the month meaning less may be getting onto their faculty characters.
Edit to add onto this:
Students will always out number faculty, this is because majority of the playerbase 99% of the time is student characters BECAUSE this is a schoolRP server. Theres only so many slots for the faction, and the faction lead cannot control who applies for the faction and what timezones people are in.
