My playtime is 14w 2d 7h 23m 23s (as of when the app was made). My activity currently is, im on through out the whole week for at least 2hrs, for about 4 times a day, which is . . 8 hrs a day or longer. depending on if im working or not, Aswell as i do GangRP so i am on daily , as well as being a faculty member, chef. I tend to get on and always finding roleplay to do, so i can always stay active and not really afk unless im tailoring/doing art coms. I tend to be even active during dead hours of SRP, and really active hours of SRP. I tend to find meetings/events to do, while im on SRP, so i don't seem like im doing nothing.

What is your motivation for applying?
My motivation for applying is to look for more RP opportunities , as well as trying to get my character more lore-accurate RP reasons to exist. However, i want to explore the shrine in more ways than just visiting and checking out their little stuff, you can request to do such as card readings or buying their small charms. I want to be behind that and appreciate the shrine more than just a visitor to the place. Trying to see the shrine more than one can see from an outsider perspective. as well as find something extra to do while on the server when nothing much is going on. I enjoy being around the shrine.
What do you currently know about Shintoism? Are you willing to learn more about it?
I dont know much, but what i’ve been told from others its religion mainly from japan.
its main teachings are respecting and loving nature and the people. As well as the spirits that protect nature, there are also those that live alongside them.
Kami:
The spirits are called kami; they're not ghosts. More of magical spirit beings. Some spirits are ancestors of the region. Others are ones that live in nature. They're here to help the world around them. They live in the air, on plants, or even in rivers. You’re never really alone, as people from the past are
Small Shinto events you may hear about are:
New Year's, visiting shrines to pray for good luck, ringing bells, wishes or lucky charms
, spring festivals, where they mainly throw roasted soybeans while shouting ‘Oni wa soto! Fuku wa uchi!’
The cherry blossom festival gathers under cherry blossom trees, appreciating nature and celebrating the beauty of life.
Kyoto is one of the biggest festivals they will have, with giant floats being pulled along the streets of Japan, dancing and celebrating the kami spirits.
Offerings:
People will go to shrines and offer stuff, from food, sake, water, branches from sacred trees, or even money. How these offerings work is you will bring your offering, bow twice - clap your hands twice, getting the kami’s attention, and make your wish or prayer, you will bow one last time, saying thank you to the spirits. These offerings are to show appreciation and your thankfulness to these magical spirits.
I am willing to learn more about the religion. I wish to show my full respect for these spirits that protect us and the world around us. By that, I wish to learn as much as I can. I feel like theres so much more i can be taught and learn through this future experience.

Fernella grew up in a cabin in the woods near Mount Kongo in the Osaka Prefecture region. She grew up always enjoying nature and making sure she took care of her mother's garden. Although she lacked a father in her life, and having been in the forest for so long, she always thought everyone was a woman. Her mother grew up telling her stories about guardians of the forest , and how nature always needed to be scarced. After Fernella’s mother's passing, day by day, it grew quieter and lonelier in the cabins, and soon Fernella moved into the big city. She moved to Kyoto, Japan , Where she began her studies on Wildlife Biology. she met this girl, who became her best friend, and her family took her in like she was their own. She finished school on an easy life. She eventually moved to Karakura on her own. As she arrived in Karakura, she wanted to find her place. She got interested in the sacred shrine. She would spend the rest of her studies there, taking it as her safe space. She was really interested in learning the Shintoism religion, she grew up on Christian beliefs, so agjusting to it was hard. She really loved nature as a whole, so the religion interested her. While doing her studies for environmental scienece, she would also spend half of her time learning and doing things around the shrine. Fernella grew up around nature. It was her safe space. It was her home. To her, it seemed like just being back at home, no issues, just quietness and family, which was nature itself. The maidens, seeing them doing their job and hang around the shrine. It brought her comfort in a way, and she wanted people to feel that way too when they come. she then realized what she wanted to persue in life, so she began studying what the religion in the area was, their practices, and what their beliefs was. She picked up on it fast, being like her mother. She knew how to learn things fast and catch up on it, she knew she needed more to learn, but she also knew that she can learn along the way. She started going to outside Shintoism events like festivals or even gatherings. She spent a lot of her time doing that , just until she got her encouragement to try and become a maiden.

How does your character act around shrine grounds? How do they interact with guests and other staff?
Fernella would greet the person by bowing her head, a small welcome or goodmoring/evening/night would be said she would always offer a smile to the person. giving them her full attention. She would make herself stand up properly. Keeping her voice rather sweet and gently, She would hold a conversation , or even ask if they would need any help, or anything she can do for them. She loves to talk, so she would try to attempt her way in dragging a conversation on, making sure she would make the person feel at home or at ease not having to worry about much. With her fellow staff, she would bow at them. Keeping her head down for a long more before greeting them. Lifting her head up, she would have a bright smile on her face. it would be welcoming and comforting to look at. Her eye’s would beam and her voice would be soft and sweet. She would talk ina rather formal tone but yet be shy about talking. She would be passionate in talking and getting to know those who will be around her for many and long times of the day or month. She is very welcomign and is always ougoing to be there for you when you need someone the most you! She wants everyone to feel like the shrine is a safe space as it is for her.
You see a guest jumping around the roofs of the building and overall disrespecting shrine grounds, how would your character handle it?
Seeing a guest/visitor jumping around on buildings or even sacred grounds, she wouldn’t yell. She would politely ask them to please get off the said building/sacred grounds , and politely for them to behave. She wouldn’t warn them the first time, just asking them to behave and respect those around them aswell as the sacred grounds. If they continue, she will giving them a small warning, and then proceed to tell them why they should behave and be respectful in the area, giving them a moment to think about their actions and why their actions should be stopped. If it continues, she will not raise her voice; she will keep a calm and collected tone, trying her best to make the situation easier for both of them. She would politely ask them to leave the grounds at once. If it becomes more of a problem she will ask for her fellow members to help with the situation, as she doesn’t want to accidentally make it worse for them all.
Why does your character want to become a shrine maiden/priest? What do they wish to achieve?
Fernella wants to become a maiden, not just for the name, but for the nature of the shrine itself. She finds the place really welcoming and comforting. As she converted from Christianity to Shintoism, she found it more relaxing and at peace. Becoming a maiden is something she wants to do because of the connection she feels with the spiritual world and her surroundings. The forest and the shrine of Karakura. Stories that her mother would tell her growing up as a kid, about the spirits and about the guardians that protect the sacred areas of Japan and nature. Becoming a Maiden, Fernella hopes to honor her heritage and traditions of her newly founded home. She wants to let go of her old beliefs and find new ways with her new beliefs. Her newfound interest in Shinto makes her seek more harmony than conflict. Her goal is to protect the natural spaces she loves and holds dear but also keep up what her mother believed in nature. She wants to protect and serve for her community as well. Showing passion and belonging to the area. She wants everyone else to feel the sense of comfort and wonder around the shrine and any area of the forest. She wants others to experience this and show them how it feels. Fernella wants people to connect with the spiritual side of nature. Showing comfort, guidance, and a sense of connection with everything around them daily. Traditions:
Fernella honors the stories her mother told her about the guardians in the forests and how they protect the forest and nature itself. Showing her love and passion for nature. She kept up the tradition of taking care of nature herself, making sure she kept up her mother's love and traditions after her passing.
