Describe your activity:
My activity started when I joined SRP around 2021. I think? I'm not sure. But since then, I have been consistently active with a few breaks lasting an average of a maximum of 2 years. But as of late, I have been getting back into it and don’t plan on quitting or taking more breaks anytime soon. If that were to happen, it’d be at most one week of inactivity. In general, I am online at least once every single day, lasting from one hour to several, depending on factors involved. I like to manage my time, given I just got accepted into KA-autos, I can divide an equal amount of time into a second faction. My activity doesn’t just range from how many hours I spend on the server; it covers the factions and teams I have participated in and put activity and dedication into.

Link any significant applications (e.g., Roles/Teams, exclude languages):
- College female football

- College cheerleader 2x

- High-school cheerleader 3x

- Event-team - Application was lost

- School-nurse -https://schoolrp.net/threads/school-nurse-application-qtly.43074

What is your motivation to apply for reporter?:
Honestly? I want to put my foot in the door by branching out of the school faction entirely. I've been a school nurse, a female football player, and a cheerleader, which is all within the school faction. I've been dying for a change, and this is my chance. Besides, this faction is all about writing, which is my strong suit and something I am very, very passionate about. My experience with writing runs deep. During my time as a cheerleader, we had to make chants and write routines, so there's that. I love making chants even now. It's just something fun to do, which I could incorporate into my writing now, to make those catchy slogans that people find cringeworthy at first, but then it gets stuck in their head. It will make them remember any report I write. Also, add that sense of flair. Of course, after being in those factions for so long, they can only fulfill me for so long till I eventually wish to try something new. This is something new, it's something I want to try and do, to write reports, to be able to put my foot in the door with expanding my writing style. Maybe learn a new trick or two when it comes to making reports or writing out interviews. I want the ability to make new connections, to make new friends. It's only natural I'd want to join a faction that's all about writing and creating different stories. Sure, I have friends already in the faction, but that's just a bonus to wanting to join it. I hope you'll allow me this opportunity to hone my skills as a writer and branch out.

Do you have any experience with writing? What is your relationship with writing?:
Writing, for me, is not just a skill but a craft, something I’m always working on and constantly trying to improve. Even from a young age, I would rush at breaktime to write at least a hundred different stories containing different characters. Funnily enough, through the years, I have always roleplayed consistently; it was simple messaging apps such as Kick. That was until I found myself on SRP. This is where I truly bloomed and grew, I developed my writing style, grammar, and learnt way too hard words. My experience with writing easy to say long-standing and deeply rooted in who I am, what I've gathered and learnt from cheer and event team is something I will always truly cherish. It's the reason I came so far with my writing. Now I'm searching for diverse roleplay that challenges what I know and I think that report has just what I need. During my time on SRP so far, recently I just got into the KA Autos; which I am very excited to join. However, you do not need to worry as I am very much so good with my time management, I won't ever put myself into a hole where I have no time for either faction. It kind of helps having everything on the same account so I can easily switch between characters when needed. I've always participated in a lot of jockrp so I know what it's like to participate in a faction that takes up most of the server due to the vast majority. I also was a school nurse for a time, which I got to experience the insider of the schools. This is to say, I am fully prepared for this new era for roleplay for me, of being a reporter, of expanding my craft and sharing it with others.

Are you aware of - and will follow - the set of rules provided to you?:
I have read and accepted these rules completely.

Why should we accept you over others?:
There are probably a million reasons why you would pick someone else over me for their grandeur answers. But I'm me, I'm just me, and that's all I'll ever be. I don't need to be this extravagant person to be picked, or feel the need to stand out. This question always gets to me cause, realistically, I don't know what I can and can't bring to the table aside from myself. I know myself as a hard worker and someone deserving of being given the opportunity to expand my writing style and learn how to write reports for a faction. I love being able to write, and I love being able to dive into things that interest me. Sure, it's a silly school, but that's the thing. It brings me comfort, it brings me joy to be able to put time into a game like this and learn things. To expand on the thing I love the most, which is writing. I can bring you authenticity cause I will always be my person and not a carbon copy of anyone else and what they can bring to the table.

Do you understand you have to stay completely neutral with all reports? (Your report can't have any OOC or IC bias towards a specific group.)
I understand and agree with these terms.

Do you trust that you will be able to stay active and complete the monthly quota?:
I will make sure to keep up the work that is expected of me.

Summarise what you imagine work as a reporter is:
I would argue that a reporter's work is fueled by curiosity for finding new things to talk about. I mean, honestly, we're all just trying to find a new way to talk someone's ear off, even if they don't find it the most interesting. Crazy to think about it, but it holds a lot of truth to it as well. Working as a reporter sounds fun in the aspect of being able to explore more around the city and dive deeper into the history of this place. Every person has a story, and I intend to be the messenger for them when they can not be their messenger. No matter how big a problem it is, or how little of it. Everyone's voice deserves to be heard. When you think of the news or being a reporter, they are the people most likely to go to find out firsthand information, such as things coming to the town, rumors that are supposedly being spread around, and other such things. As a reporter, I can imagine it can be a bit of a hassle to find the right connections, but I'm up for that challenge, to find out the things that I shouldn't be poking my nose into. I'm just as nosy as the next person.

How would you describe yourself in under 150 words?:
Solaire folded one palm into the other, cheeks puffed up with air, deflating like a balloon as the question was pondered. She shaped her heart-drawn lips into a gentle smile, eyes disappearing into it, as she shone with maternal warmth.

“Oh gosh- How WOULD I describe myself?”

Aeris tapped her chin.

“I’m level-headed, and pretty open to things, new stuff! I’d like to consider myself kind, optimistic, too! I’m curious and love the process of discovering.”

⋆⋅☆⋅⋆

What are you interested in writing about? How will you achieve this, and would you consider going out of your comfort zone?:
A slight shift adjusted the woman in her chair; she crossed her thigh over the other. Treasured jade hues flickered, her tone tuned lower, heavier, as she parted her lips to speak.
“I am interested in sharing awareness of knowledge that usually passes by unnoticed. Quirky beliefs, such as astronomy, occult happenings, and subjects others are too scared to confront. Such as gang affiliations. There are important topics that aren't spoken about or mentioned, leaving the city unaware and possibly at risk of untold secrets. “

She leaned forward, angling her torso. Moving her head left to right as if someone was watching. As if fragile secrets were about to be shared.

“I used to be a little socially anxious, but my partner has brought me far out of my comfort zone. Which is pretty helpful now that I think about it. . . Anyways, I'm comfortable with anything.”

Then the tension released, relaxation took its place. Aeris basked in its comfort, leaning back with hands held in her lap.

“And being kind, generous, it takes you a far mile when you need to fish information out. I will go where the cameras don’t point and converse with people harboring the knowledge I seek. Nothing can stop me from putting my nose where it doesn't belong, to discover the undiscovered.”

⋆⋅☆⋅⋆
What are your expectations for the job?:

Honestly, thinking it over, there are a lot of expectations that could come to mind. Such as wanting to grow in the career, this is one of mine as well; who wouldn't want a chance to grow in their field? I know I do at the very least. I want to feel that sense of achievement when I finish a report and let it be seen by the public, to get those remarks that people enjoyed it as much as I did while working on it, it's not the act of typing it all, it's the act of what happened.

Getting the information from individuals, doing the research into it, getting the connections for it, and learning about a whole new horizon that I didn't know about before. With this job, I know I will be given the right tools to succeed that I didn't have before.

Communication is key to everything. And me personally? I believe in that fully, with communication comes connection, and with connections comes knowledge that you didn't know about before.

The dangerous thrill of street racing involves racing motor vehicles recklessly on public roads. Wheels made for their designated tracks mark Karakura's roads as a sinister reminder of the precarious sport; thrill-seekers risk their livelihood for a rush of addictive adrenaline given by this death-dealing activity. It's threatening and at times, even fatal; these are the consequences of why this sport is illegal in Karakura. The danger is not only to the participants, but bystanders who merely watch can also be injured or harmed. Despite these circumstances, people still actively partake in these races, and civilians come to watch in revved anticipation. Is it worth the risk to witness trails of smoke from flashing cars? It was for some time a popular activity for those invested. Rakkiyatsu was famously known for its drag-racing activities, though no longer around. Karakura’s major economy faced a massive rise in prices, and inflation rose drastically, due to poor governance at the time. One of the most affected materials was car parts that were manufactured off the island and later imported to Karakura. But given the fee alteration, it became expensive to import the necessities for motor vehicles.
This greatly demotivated the racers and mechanics part and were responsible for setting up and participating in these races. It simply became too much of a cost to host. Slowly, like a venom, the sport was poisoned and began to fizzle into dust, marking the silent death of racing in the year 2024.

Some time in 2025, it resurrected. Brought to life by new participants with a new drive to keep the activity alive. Ka-Autos were the official group to ignite a fire in the racing community, resulting in the rise of this wild and reckless motorsport. Now races are hosted often, and bystanders gather like moths to a flame. Risking to get burned by flames and choked by clouds of smoke, figuratively speaking.
I leave you with a newfound knowledge, maybe a new interest, or the newest thrill to watch when life is wearing you thin. Remember to look both sides of the road, you never know if you’ll be collateral damage.

#2 - Interview. It's important to have well-rounded questions. Create your own interview with ten questions or more. And answer them yourself.

Din_stycketext_400_x_300_mm_2.gif

I came to the choice of interviewing long-inhabited residents of Karakura, why the youth are so drawn towards crime, and they offered insight with personal experience. Given their long duration on the island, they have awareness that gives us an overview of the consistent increase in crime in Karakura; all this gives a clear image of the troubled youth in Karakura. I didn't want to settle on interviewing just one person for this subject. To avoid any personal biases, I decided to go around, finding adults with the experience to give accurate and factual answers. The three I chose were asked questions about the youth and their magnetic pull to crime.
This is what they had to say.

The questions are bolded for clarity*

Aeris clasped both hands together, offering a brief wave before clearing her throat.
[Aeris] -“Hellooooo, my name is Aeris! Would you mind if I asked you a question or two?”

Alice Otori- Daily just stared towards Ezio for a moment; she honestly couldn't even tell if he was real. As Aeris spoke up, her head turned and with a small bow of her head.
[Alice] - “Hello Aeris. . Sure yeah, I dont mind-"

She dipped her chin to her chest, returning the gesture of a flimsy bow. She cleared her voice, eyeing Ezio to make sure he wasn't going to add anything. Why would he? Cause he got a BIG mouth. Then a sudden breath was drawn.
[Aeris] - "Have you noticed an increase in crime and behavioral troubles among younger people in recent years?"

Alice's eye twitched ever so slightly. One could hardly notice it unless they were truly looking for it.
[Alice] - "An increase..? I suppose. Though admittedly for the last.." fer, voiced trailed off, she was thinking, "20, or so years I've been here, it's been quite consistent."

Aeris hoisted her brows in the company of a warm smile, yet short-lived. Almost compassionate.
[Aeris] -"Right- so would you say that youths have been drawn consistently to crime for over 20 years?"

The older woman clasped her hands together in front of her. The Ofori started to gently twist her wedding ring.
[Alice] - "Unfortunately, yes. On top of living here for 20 years. I spent some time as an officer. There was never a day when we didn't have to respond to a call that seemed to consist of mostly children."

She hummed, dropping her gaze for a moment. She furrowed her brows at the thought of children in masks..
[Aeris] - "How unfortunate.. And why do you think the cause of that is?"

[Alice] - "Truthfully, most kids who end up here do so because they have nowhere else to go. Nobody to help guide them. One thing will always lead to another, and a percentage ends up down the wrong road."

Aeris dragged her head into nods, multiple ones. A small bow was given to the Saiky woman with a tired smile.
[Aeris] - "Thank you for your time, Mrs Otori. I appreciate all of your answers. Do you mind if I include them in my report?"

Alice’s head bowed in return[
Alice] -
"I don't mind, dear."

Micah Sardou

Aeris Solaire lit up like a light, quickly offered a short wave, tilting her head.

[Aeris] - "Hello! I'm Aeris. So first, would you mind if I included your answers and your picture in a report I am working on?"

Micah Sardou looked at Aieris, squinting a bit - A blink.. Then another. Going STRAIGHT into it! Oh wow..
[Micah] - "I'm Micah! Nice to meet ya. I don't mind that at all! Go wild."

Aeris Solaire vigorously bobbed her head, nearly her entire body. A warm light shone with her smile, all doughy and soft. How could someone be so tender and intense at the same damn time?
[Aeris] - "Do you currently see an issue with this generation and criminal tendencies?"

Micah Sardou kinda wished he was sitting.. Then he could kick his feet up and let his hands be expressive while yapping. Oh well, he can improvise here. His arms lifted, his hands meeting under his head to hold it up.

[Micah] - "I've seen an issue with this town and criminal tendencies. Since I moved here, I've seen a constant stream of crime. New groups rising and falling.. It's not something to do with the generation, but the environment of this city."

Aeris Solaire pursed her lips, 'mhm'ing to his answers, straying her eyes away to process the information. She hummed, finalizing her gaze on Micah. Pink locks bounced as her head angled, curious eyes were spread wide.

[Aeris] - "Right, right. Do you think current laws and penalties are fair and effective at deterring crime?"

Micah let the question linger in the air. As someone who was on both sides of the law, the answer came to him quickly.. BUT he had to act all cool and mysterious. Thinking about dinner options to make it look like he was deep in thought. His expression was a bit dismissive, yet held something more in his eyes. Pain of the truth of this world, perhaps?
Who knows
[Micah] - "I do believe the laws and penalties are fair. You do the crime, you do the time. Though they are not effective at deterring crime. They are simply an obstacle. In this town, short of murder, if you're rich, you get away with anything. You get a short sentence, then can post bail. If you had rich parents or friends, you can go on a crime spree and be freed after a few days. Crazy, right?"

She got the answers she was looking for and MORE! Those attentive irises were put on a wide display. She murmured, almost jealous. As if he just scored higher. than her on a test. Dutifully, the information was dotted down into the folds of her memory.
[Aeris] - "Now, that is a good answer. That is crazy, thank you for that... And how do you think crime can be properly deterred, or if it even can?”

Micah Sardou simply shook his head. A way to deter it? Was there a solution? Not even an optimist can falsely come up with one. His expression grew a bit more hopeless.
[Micah] - "If I could think of that, I'd have found the solution for world peace, little lady. Sadly, the only solution is one nobody would want. Not even a government ruled with an iron fist can stop a rebellion… Best thing that can be done is being done by the police force and the government. Putting criminals behind bars as best as they can."

Aeris Solaire chuckled at the title bestowed upon her, little lady. Not too much, though, she had to lock in on the task at hand. His question brought out another furrow of her brows, a small tut. A couple of nods finalized her question; she offered him a heart-warming smile

[Aeris] - "Aha. I see, well, thank you for taking the time to answer my questions. It is greatly appreciated."

⋆⋅☆⋅⋆
Daiki Saiky

The captain.

4.png

⋆⋅☆⋅⋆
Aeris Solaire says with a polite smile.
[Aeris]- "Thank you for agreeing to an interview. My name is Aeris Solaire."
Daiki Saiky smiled brightly

[Daiki]- "Of course, Interviews are quite normal for college students and people preparing for their PHD presentations."
She parted her lips to brace a deep breath, pressing her lips into a thin line, then a smile.
[Aeris]-
"Oh so you're sort of prepared, that's good, I wiiiilll ask you four questions, are you ready?"

The Saiky nodded his head along
[Daiki]- "Go ahead."

Aeris swept her head up and down, clicking her tongue against the roof of her mouth. She fiddled with her notebook, somewhat nervous.
[Aeris]-
"Ahem, Okay. So as a Captain. How does the Karakura environment influence whether youths lean further towards crime?"

The captains lips thinned, well, that was always the proper question, wasn't it? He gave her the opportunity to really think about it herself, her opinion first, rather than laying the facts out right.
[Daiki]- "Well, Karakura already holds the title for 'highest crime rates' in town. When we think of crime, what is it that comes to your mind, Ms Solaire?"

She lifted her pen to write, but paused. That got her thinking, the question ricocheting wasn't something she expected.
[Aeris]- "Well criminal or illegal activies and choices, .?"

Daiki cleared his throat as he continued
[Daiki]- "Sorta, There are facts of what brings crime to Karakura. there currently is no top dog in this town, there is no top gang only well known gangs, there is none that 'leads them all' sort to speak. Even what could be considered the black market has its own slip-ups, we are a town full of people who arent exactly sure what they are doing, they just know they want to do something. But then we arrive at the youth of this town. Most Youth who commit crime in this town are either 17-23, and that 23 age is pushing it."

[Daiki]- These groups of people are easily influenced; no one is in Karakura because they want to be. Most kids these ages are forced here by family trying to make a name for themselves in this town or by the fact its cheaper to go to school here in Karakura rather then mainland Japan and less stressful, Or maybe even their parents forcing them here. But like we just brought up commiting a crime is normally a choice. This fact isnt exactly true 100% of the time, There all a handful of kids who felt forced to make that choice, no human wakes up one morning and thinks 'oh well im going to stab someone today', no of course not. Mental trauma and physical trauma is what leads to people believing they need to take actions into their own hands to defend themselves. I'll be completely honest with you, the government in karakura isnt the best and a lot of the time KPD's hands are tied because of it or we'll be arrested or fired."

Oh boy, he had gone into a bit of a ramble. Saiky waved his hand idly as he tried to wrap around back to the question.

[Daiki]-
"As you can tell, there are tons of things that go into the fact. I believe the town's government has failed the youth in this way, but Kids end up committing crimes because they don't feel safe, or because they are being ignored by their caretakers in this town, which leads to a bad mental state and them doing something stupid. Karakura is something that will chew you up and spit you out, I know that from painful experience."

Aeris Solaire's eyes burst wide as she attentively kept them glued upon him, dancing her pen across the paper without casting it a second glance.
[Aeris]- "That's a fleshed-out answer, Mr Saiky.. Thank you, that was perfect and ties into my next question quite well.. Do you think most people commit crimes out of necessity, opportunity, or personal choice?"

Daiki let out a small hum as he thought about it
[Daiki]- "Everything is a choice, If i chose to pepper spray you right now Ms Solaire, that would be my choice, despite it being a law not to use unlawful force against you. Even if i felt forced to do so it's still my choice to act on that feeling. So technically It can be for all three. These kids want to take justice into their own hands. They choose to take revenge for their own personal Justice, but in their head, its something they NEED to do. For other people in this town who wish to grow their power, they will harm others for opportunity. Does that answer your question properly?".

She pursed her lips, eyes squinting as she processed what he just said. Her expression returns to normal, addition of a small smile. The silence stretched longer as more writing ensued..
[Aeris]- "It's perfect, thank you. Right, and to respond to your answer with a question.. Why do you think they feel the need to take justice into their own hands? As a captain, I can imagine you have your thoughts about it."

Daiki’s gaze softened
[Daiki]-"Because the youth in this town don't trust their government or the adults to seek proper help. I don't blame them either. I've dealt with plenty of police corruption cases over my time as Captain. I've watched people I trained fall into Madness, Ms Solaire, because of this town, all because the people who live here can't show sympathy. Because people in this town never care to ask how a neighbor is doing, instead people are made fun of when they get injured, their called weak or made to think they're weak for getting hurt."

Daiki removed his right glove before rolling up that sleeve to show one of the many scars, a scar across his palm that went out the back of that hand, along with a scar on his wrist, a larger scar that was obviously from some kind of katana.

[Daiki]-The last corruption case I dealt with was Amaya Omori. She turned to hurting others because people laughed about her getting stabbed; she wanted people to understand her pain. The town saw SGT Omori as just another corrupt officer who hurt other emergency workers, but in the end, she was a young adult who was hurting,g and her higher-ups failed to see it. I fought with SGT Omori, and she eventually died due to her injuries in that battle. She passed away in the cell block. But before all else, she apologized for ending up the way she did, there was a sense of clarity after it all. Despite any choices a human makes Ms Solarie in a strong believer of the fact that everyone can change and heal from the Mistakes they made. No person is a monster, we are all just people who are hurting while trying to figure out how to live our lives; this is all our first time doing it after all."

The Captain let out a sigh
[Daiki]-"This could be avoided if we pay more attention to the people around us and actually help them when they need it. Even to be a shoulder to cry on, simply asking someone who they are doing goes an extremely long way."

Aeris softened now, eyes hung heavier with a compassionate understanding.
[Aeris]- "Mhm, mhm. You seem very passionate, Mr Saiky. It's nice to see a Captain that's more honest with the situation of the town. It makes for more candid answers! Anyways.. last question! How much does peer influence contribute to first-time offenders?"

Daiki Saiky tilted his head to the side
[Daiki]- "Well, Its more so these kids grow attachments to their friends who they care about. Then they feel the need to get revenge on whoever hurt their friend. Taking action into their own hands because they feel as tho KPD or the government isnt doing their job properly or fast enough. Or perhaps they dont have enough evidence to make a report to KPD, which is sadly the case most of the times."
Solaire hummed along with the bob of her head; each flick of her wrist was a sentence written. She murmured, finally, the notebook closed and tucked beneath her arm. A short-lived bow as she dipped her head down.
[Aeris]- "Mhm, it is interesting to see how far this will go on before a change is made. Thank you for answering my questions, Mr Saiky. You have a very involved view of these things, so this was very informative. Oh right! Would you be okay with your picture and answers be used in a report I am doing?"

Daiki Saiky gave Aeris a soft warm smile
[Daiki]- "Of course use it for whatever you need, I'd rather this information be public to all anyways."
