What's your Minecraft Username?: celexaprozac
What's the title of your suggestion?: Return the /friend reply, or /f r, command back to its initial function
What's your suggestion?:
Prior to the tear-down and rebuild of the friends plugin and messaging system, /f r would send a message to the last person you sent a message to.
So if I did /f m kiminouso hey stinky nerd
and then I followed it up with /f r you need a bath
my chat would look like:
[F][celexaprozac -> KimiNoUso] hey stinky nerd
[F][celexaprozac -> KimiNoUso] you need a bath
Now, when I do this it would appear as this:
[F][celexaprozac -> KimiNoUso] hey stinky nerd
[FRIENDS] You have no one to reply to.
Or worse off, if someone messaged me two hours ago
[12:00][F][ilovemyashbeex2-> celexaprozac] *insert worlds shittiest ragebait here*
and then I do:
/f m KimiNoUso hey stinky nerd
/f r you need a bath
It comes out as:
[14:32][F][celexaprozac -> KimiNoUso] hey stinky nerd
[14:32][F][celexaprozac -> ilovemyashbeex2] you need a bath
Embarrassing, isn't it?
Many of us remember this system, but many users are new and don't have this context.
The reason it does this as explained to me is as follows; its a 'reply' function, it should only be used to reply.
Logically, yeah that makes sense, but even now, six months after the fact people still cannot kick this habit of trying to /f r to follow up with their friends, it's such a convenient quality of life change for those of us who wish to communicate on the server to implement.
I would like to see this functionality to /f r restored as it is more cumbersome and burdensome to use the f msg system with the current reply functionality.
How will this benefit the server and community?:
This would streamline private communications, many individuals I know chat in VCs together, but are mic-shy, and use /f msg to reply to people in their VCs, or even without that more niche consideration, it just makes keeping track of conversation flow easier and reduces the risk for mis-messaging. It's a quality of life change I know 90% of users would appreciate as many were upset, few even angry, at this change.
