I joined SRP in the summer of 2022. Landing myself in my first faction, Gang/Crime RP, I joined a small gang, leaving it shortly after. It was never really for me as I found less and less things to do within it at that time. I left Gang/Crime RP around late 2024, looking for new ways to enjoy SRP and what it has to offer me. This landed me in the HS Swim team an the Volleyball team, I loved being in those teams and always look forward to what's next in store. JockRP has by far been my favourite roleplay so far but I am always looking for new things to do on this server, which has landed me here, applying for Nurse.
I’m on for 3-12 hours a day, taking breaks on Wednesdays to avoid burnouts. When I am on, I try to involve myself in roleplays as much as I can.

In my many years of playing SRP, I've visited the school nurse countless times. The nurse plays a vital role in school by taking care of students with minor injuries. Although, major injuries require a phone call to EMS and greater care. [Major injuries are not allowed to happen on school ground]
I also have experience with things like first aid kits and administering injections, as I studied at an Animal care college where this knowledge was essential. (I practised injections mainly on dogs as part as assignments but its fine)

Duties:
Drunk students: | If a drunk student is found or taken to the nurses office, Nurses are required to set them down on a bed and hand them water. Nurses will check in with them every now and then until the drunk student is sober, SLT will be contacted. A detention will be issued if it hasn't been handed out yet |
Handling minor injuries | From things like bruises, bloodied nose or even something like a papercut. Nurses will be required to treat it when brought to them. |
Desk duty | While nurses aren't patrolling or tending to students, they remain at their desk, ready to help anyone who comes in needing care. |
Monitoring halls | School nurses aren’t confined to their office all day, they often patrol the halls to watch for fights or other incidents. |
Cleaning the office | Nurses need to have a clean station at all times. They’ll wipe down surfaces or clean equipment. This is to avoid the spread of bacteria. |

First aid kit:
I don't see a first aid kit get used very often but I know it's something they need to have on hand in real life. I see the first aid kit used mainly with KPD or EMS on this server but I feel like it would be a need to have in the nurses office. A first aid kit’s role is to provide immediate care or minor injuries or sudden illnesses, reducing the severity of injuries and possibly saving lives.
What goes in a first aid kit:
Gloves [Non latex]: For hygiene and infection control
Scissors: For cutting clothes or bandages
Band-aids: For small cuts
Bandages: For protecting wounds and prevent infection
Antiseptic wipes: For cleaning wounds
Burn cream or gel: For minor burns
Medication Nurses can hand out [Without prescriptions]
Paracetamol | ¥1,500 | Handed out 1 per school day per student (due to the 4 hour wait time.) Used to temporarily relieve pain such as headaches and migraines. |

What experience, in general, do you have in roleplay?:
My first experience in roleplays was in 2018; where I was constantly playing roleplaying MMOs, such as pony town, royale high and roblox high school. A few years later. I caught myself joining a MCRP studio where I'd write scripts and improv in videos. Though more recently. I’ve been roleplaying on SRP for 3 years now. I am always looking to improve my detail no matter what i do, sometimes practising detail by myself in my free time.
Why do you want to join the School Employee faction?:
My first reason for joining is from early 2024, I would assist newer players with things they need: buying them phones, helping them find places they need to go (money making is a big one… i take them to the fishing pond), helping them find a group to stick to or anything else they need to get started. I have always had that knack for helping new players and would like to extend that out in the best way I can. School factions are usually the first place new players land themselves in, the first people they interact with from experience is school faculty. This means I have experience and patience to handle newer players and their questions, whatever they may need.
My second reason for applying is for reaching into new communities that I have not interacted with before, school faculty being a main one. I’d like to expand my horizons and meet new people.

Situations
During a work-shift a student starts cursing at you for being pathetic, how does your character react?:
Ryou does not tolerate this from the get-go, he already deals with this from his wife. He gives a firm verbal warning first, giving the student a chance to correct their behaviour. He won't raise his voice the first time, his tone carries the weight of someone who has seen enough drama for two lifetimes and has no patience for childish antics. If the student chooses to continue, Ryou will remind the student that if they were to persist then he would issue a detention. This is their second warning. Around the third time that the student tries to do this then he would hand them a detention slip.
You notice two students are physically fighting in the hallway, – multiple punches have been thrown – how does your character react?:
Ryou has children of his own, they tend to playfight on the daily, ones that turn sour very fast. Between his experience at the previous high school he worked at and raising his own kids, this is nothing new to him. Upon spotting the fight or being led there by another student, the first priority for Ryou is breaking up the fight. Separating the two by threats of detention or getting in between if they chose to continue. After separation, he asks what happened. When Ryou has heard both sides of the story, his next concern is injuries. The male starts by asking them to show their knuckles. Why knuckles you may ask? Well bruises on the knuckles are a form of physical impact trauma, often caused by a form of striking or punching, it implies involvement in a fight and that fists have been swung. Bruises or blood anywhere else on the participants will also be checked.
Ryou hands the students with bruised knuckles a detention slip. “We were only play fighting!” Absolutely not. He shuts that down quickly before taking the injured to the nurses office. He tends to any wounds that he can, calling EMS in emergencies, he then sends them on their way. Depending on the situation, Ryou will have a talk with them, telling the students to stay far from each other to avoid conflict.
Another school employee is clearly acting inappropriately, doing something very dangerous on the job, how does your character react?:
He checks for security cameras first, any that could have recorded the incident. If Ryou finds no cameras then he takes out his phone, recording a bit of evidence before confronting his colleague. He would radio in for SLT, depending on what dangerous act his co-worker is attempting then he will try preventing it until a higher up arrives.
When in the employee break room, how does your character act?
Upon entering the break room, Ryou finds a quiet spot to sit at, avoiding his scum wife as best as he could. He’d bring out his meal deal from the family store, wrapped in a brown paper bag, savouring his food. He enjoys his break in silence or “peace and quiet” as he calls it before going back to tending to the student's injuries which is his main priority. If a co-worker were to approach him, he’d give in to small talk, he always was a sucker for socialising and meeting new people. If the topic would turn to his marriage, Ryou will attempt to redirect the conversation or cut it short, it's a sore subject for the recent divorcee.

Dino bandaids
/me let a low sigh escape his lips. He reached out for the student's arm and pulled it toward him. His eyes rested on the cut, it wasn't that serious. He then grabbed the backrest of the chair, dragging it towards the bed. The legs scraping the floor with a sharp screech. With a few annoying tugs, the man opens up the cabinet almost as if it owed him money. His hands scavenged around for something. "Where is... ah." Ryou pulled out a compact first aid kit and popped it open with his thumb. Hanare scanned the contents, scissors , bandages and a few different kinds of dinosaur bandaids. Just what he was looking for. The brown haired man plucked one of the dinosaur bandaids from the kit, a bright green triceratops staring up at him with a big goofy smile. The man peeled the backing off the bandaid, grabbed the students arm once more and smoothed it over the cut with more care and precision than he needed to. The triceratops stared at them both now, triumphant. "There" he grumbles, releasing their arm. "Battle Scar covered." It didn't sound like Hanare was joking, was he? It was hard to tell when his face remained expressionless. "Go have fun or whatever you crazy kids get up to these days." Ryou closed the lid of the kit, plopping it back into the cabinet.
Printing and organizing
/me tapped his fingers at the keyboard in front of him, gliding across the keys as if he was Mozart.. Rolling his chair over to the other side of the desk, Hanare powered on the printer beside the trash can. The hum of the machine fills the room as it warms up. Ryou navigates a series of folders on his computer with practiced ease, opening the student health database. With a few clicks, he pulls up the medical forms personalized for this year’s batch of new students, names, birthdates, and assigned ID numbers neatly pre-filled. He selects the first 5 profiles he sees, pressing print. The humming from the printer grew louder as it whirs to life, feeding out sheet after sheet. Ryou begins to organize the papers as they exit, placing them in a neat pile. He then reaches for a paperclip on the desk, fastens the pages together and places them into the folded stack beside him. His eyes flick briefly to the wall clock, 8AM. Gosh this was gonna be a long day.
Dealing with drunk students.
/me approached the fridge in the corner of the room, scavenging through its contents, looking for some hydration for the drunk student. His eyes scanned the shelves, all different brands of water, would it matter? He was just looking for something to sober the student up. The man shook his head and grabbed the far left bottle. Gripping the cap, he unscrews the lid. Hanare approaches the drunk student, offering the cold drink. “Let me know when you feel better, yeah?” He crouched next to the bed, making sure they drank the water. The man huffed, questioning where the student could have gotten ahold of alcohol, especially to be drinking it on school grounds. His nose wrinkled at the faint scent of alcohol lingering in the air. Yuck. Ryou stood, arms crossed as he glanced toward the door. Hanare then reaches into his pocket, bringing out a detention slip and a pen. He began scribbling down a date and time. The man’s gaze locks with the student’s. “I hope you sober up in time for this.” He said flatly, placing the slip beside them. “I’ll check on you in a few minutes. If you need anything, shout.” With that, the man pivoted, walking towards the front desk.

Backstory
[1992 - 1998] "A miracle"
Ryou Hanare, a Japanese boy born in Japan, Karakura to Reika Hanare and Yuto Hanare, both hard working surgeons. Ryou arrived a few months before, born prematurely. His parents called him a miracle or rather an angel sent from heaven. From the countless miscarriages his mother had, Reika had lost hope that she would have a child at all. She had fears that Ryou wouldn't survive but a few months later he was thriving. As Ryou grew older, his parents would spoil him rotten. Whatever he wanted, he got it. Toys, sweets ect and don't even get me started on kindergarten. That was a complete disaster. He refused to share, screamed whenever he couldn't get his way, resorting to biting and scratching. An absolute nightmare of a child. "Brat" the other parents whispered at pickup time, clutching their own children tight as Ryou thrashed and screamed on the floor. Mortified, Reika tries correcting his behaviour for the first time. It wasn't easy. Reika and Yuto's best trick? Timeouts. Eventually Ryou mellowed out, the tantrums faded and he became polite. A person that teachers gave a gold star to. This good behaviour sticks to him for years like the glue he used to eat in art class.
[2004 - 2007] "Quick turn of events"
Middle school eventually arrived for Ryou. It wasn't easy for him, especially at home. His father got let go from his job for 'malpractise.' The house filled with screaming and shouting as the young boy slumped down on the sofa. The words ringed in his ear. Almost cursing him. Then a swift slam came from the door, a sound of an engine and his father was gone. Then he blinked and suddenly he was in a new house. Empty alcohol bottles on the floor, shattered windows, dusty floorboards that creaked with every step and the faint smell of cigarettes. His life had completely turned upside down, it was just him and his mother. He tried tuning out the world around him by studying, it was his escape from reality. Ryou hoped to follow in his parents footsteps, doing just that but not in the way that he thought.
[2008 - 2011] "Class of '11"
In highschool, he kept his head down, kept to himself and studied. All he did was study. Although, he did pick up a small job at the convenience store to help his mother with bills and college. Reika was an utter mess, sleeping on the couch most days, mumbling about his father in her sleep. His father? Yuto? Never heard from again. Maybe the occasional birthday cards were sent through but that was all. Ryou was focused and determined for his dream, saving enough to get a decent degree in medicine. He graduated high school in 2011, top of his class.
[2012 - 2016] "Party Animal"
Ryou partied, alot. Juggling his college life with his social life. Somehow surviving his grueling school work, job, and social life whilst taking care of his mother. Reika’s liver was starting to fail after years of drinking, staying in bed most days. This only fueled him more and more. Ryou graduates with a degree in Associate of Science in Nursing.
[2016 - 2023] “Love of my life”
After college, Ryou’s mother began to recover, well enough so she could feed and go out on her own. No longer needing his constant help. The man craved a change, a big one. He decides to move to Osaka, a big city, not much different from Karakura. Ryou landed a job as the school nurse at a local school, where he met Nana, a pretty American teacher. She had long raven locks that flowed down her back, a gaze so blue he felt as if he was swimming. As they locked eyes, he thought she was all he ever needed. Wrong, he was. The two got married quickly, holding a cheap seaside wedding. They didn’t rent the space, so strangers kept photobombing their pictures. That entire wedding was a mess, not as messy as their future divorce though. Afterwards, Ryou and Nana move in together in a cheap flat, one near the school, ready to start their new life together.
[2024-2025+] “8 years or roast chicken?”
Christmas time arrives. Nana serves a roast, one stuffed with potatoes, carrots, chicken… Ryou doesn’t like chicken. Something so small sparked something bigger and they began to bicker, one built from years of frustration. The dinner table turned into a food battlefield, words flying back and forth. After what felt like forever, Ryou brings out the final strike, a divorce. He divorced his wife over Christmas dinner. 8 years down the drain. Nana took the kids, everything. He felt defeated, everything fell apart instantly. His mother fell ill once again, her liver was failing her,Reika was hospitalized for months. It was all going wrong, he feared he would go back to his life before, one of sorrow. They both hired a marriage councillor the next day, not to fix their marriage but so they could both move forward. The councillor suggests that they start with space, moving to different schools, different lives. They both agreed. Ryou moves back to Karakura, back to his childhood home, supporting his sick mother. One morning, he stood at the window, eyes resting on the high school across the street. He wondered if they were looking for a school nurse.

“My counsellor - well no, OUR counsellor. She had advised us to go our separate ways and stay as far as possible from each other. I chose Karakura highschool as i went to school here years before. A sense of familiarity lets say? I also know KHS is a great school for students. It's also close to where my mother lives, she’s terribly sick at the moment and I take care of her after my shifts.”
Why should you be accepted over the other applicants?:
“I have experience here and there in my previous workplace, working with other students who would tumble and fight. If you choose to accept me, I will ensure that the safety of the students is the absolute best.”

A fun fact:
Ryou keeps around gloves outside of shifts as much as he does inside. He has multiple pairs of disposable ones as he’s a bit of a germaphobe. These range from: Latex, polymer, vinyl and nitrile gloves. All of these are kept in his pocket or cabinet.
