Character Voice:
(Shirayuki's voice)

Equipment: Riko usually carries visage glasses and clutch wallet and/or purse. She'd also have a clipboard in work situations, and brings business cards with a small stapled gift bag holding a tiny moai trinket. She really likes those.

Hobbies: Riko enjoys basketball most of all, but she also practices Taekwondo sports-wise. Besides this, she is the head of the art department for the Cartier company, as she enjoys working with art, drawing and painting and was raised around such from her childhood.

Serious Problems/Flaws/Addictions/Disorders/Disabilities: Her main flaw is being hyper-critical of herself. This is most prevalent in her work, getting very frustrated if she had been confident in her arguments at court but ending up with a verdict not in the best interest of her client.

Skills: Determined, independent, hardworking

Backstory:

Riko Derevo is a descendant of the Derevo family, a Korean-Russian family who moved to Karakura in the year 2014. Because of her family history, she is able to speak both Korean and Russian on top of Japanese. At first she had her natural hair and eye color, but found it to be boring and decided to change her appearance to match her confident and bright personality.

0-5yrs

Riko Derevo was born to her parents Minji Derevo and Sang-hoon Derevo in Seoul, South Korea. The family was well-off, owning many art galleries around the world that would often hold exhibitions displaying iconic artists. The family was very into visual arts, specifically the fine arts such as painting. Riko would have been born into a family that encouraged her explore her creative talents and guide her to success, no matter what the path may be. She would have one sibling, Suji Derevo, who was born a year before her. The family would be tightly knit, so even with her lack of siblings, she was raised around numerous family members such as cousins and uncles. In her early school years Riko would excel in all subjects, especially art where she could let her mind roam free and draw to her heart's content. Though she was extremely involved in the creative subjects, Riko displayed a level of maturity from an early age. She would actively seek out opinions on different matters in order to have a better understanding of the perspectives of others, as well as work on many logically challenging activities like puzzles and mystery games.

6-12yrs

From the ages of 6 to 12, Riko's parents would have registered her to after-school supplemental classes in art. Riko also would have reached the peak of her studies in the Russian language, as her uncle had died and she wanted to pay a tribute to him by finally attaining fluency. While still living, her uncle had been the one to really help Riko in her Russian studies when she was struggling, since he himself was a native. It was important for Riko to become fluent in Russian since carrying the Derevo name meant that she had to carry the family's legacy and languages as well. The family would be mixed Korean and Russian because of decade old arrangements from art business. In this period of her life, Riko would still have excelled in her studies, still being involved in challenging clubs and events and engaging in deep, meaningful conversations to better her understanding of others. Riko's interest in philosophy and debate sparked an interest in law fairly early in her life.

13-18yrs
In her Junior High and High School years, Riko continued to attend classes relating to her main interests: art, philosophy and japanese. She had recently moved to Japan, or more specifically the city of Karakura, at this time. She enjoyed writing and debate, as well as reading news articles on international current events. She found it extremely helpful to be able to understand different perspectives, as it helped avoid argument and settle debates. It was also at this time that Riko truly dedicated herself to pursuing a career in the law field, taking her interests in art aside and leaving them purely as a side hobby. She would still support the family's business, however, by using her critical thinking and empathy to resolve business problems.

19-PRESENT
After leaving Karakura following her graduation, Riko continued her studies in Tokyo, where she majored Criminal Justice/ Criminology as well as minored in Japanese and Philosophy to pursue a career in the law field. After gaining her degree she decided to begin her career in 2014 by becoming a Legal Assistant Intern in a small new office, she would continue to work here for the next two years, learning the procedures of being a lawyer and gaining an overall better understanding of the job. Completing tasks and helping ****yze cases as an intern allowed her to hone her skills learned in school by actually putting them into practice. In 2016, she joined a newly started law firm, working as an attorney and gaining plenty of experience dealing with clients and working in a courtroom. Her pro-bono work propelled her reputation and steadily boost the reputation of the small firm she was working for, as well. As a result, the firm Hamada & Asahi is now a well known and reputable firm that gains many new clients every day.
