Central European Summer Time (CEST)

Describe your activity on the server:
I've been part of SchoolRP for more than two years now, I've joined late 2023. I first joined when I started college and it became part of my everyday life. I officially go to school, but I have an "internship" which is just my full-time job at an event planning company. In total I have 22 weeks of playtime

Currently my schedule is looking like this:
Weekdays, I am free from 5 PM till 1 AM.
Weekends, I am free from 7 AM till 3 AM.
(CEST Timezone)

I would describe myself as an active and maybe a well rounded player. I've explored SRP through multiple perspectives. Each role has given me the chance to learn and tell stories with my characters. I just genuinely enjoy connecting with others. I've experienced a few aspects of the server and I always aim to keep improving.

CLUBS

I was part of the Gardening Club. The main issue I faced was my time zone, it made it difficult to attend meetings or meet members. I still tried to stay as involved as I can, contributing by still doing solo tasks. Still following water logs and doing stuff independently. I've made an effort to stay engaged, even if my interactions were very limited. I decided to step away from Gardening club to focus on my time on another club that fit my schedule better.

I was part of the Photography Club too. I joined after building a rooftop event, without an application. Though it was short lived, as it wasn't fully official. While I attended some meetings, that were very enjoyable! I left after some time, as I wasn't able to get my quota fully up.

The Occult Club. I've been involved with it for quite some time, before I recently got accepted as an official member/supervisor after the applicant role was removed. I attend and even hosted a few meetings. I try to engage with the Occult Club as much as I can, with the members, inside and outside of meetings. . I often help with events and collaborative storytelling. What I enjoy the most is the detailRP I get to explore, our characters differ a lot in personality, yet mesh well together. The creativity and lore make this club one of my favourite parts of SRP and I hope it remains that way.

CRIMERP
I used to be part of lots of gangs on SchoolRP, though my approach is more narrative driven. I'm not particularly active in combat or rolling situations, as I prefer P2l roleplay, where it emphasizes on realism. My focus has always been on storytelling of my character, exploring delinquent gangs, yakuza and so on. I've used criminalRP as character growth. I was very shortly part of fight club, but they caught me in the busiest time of the year, 4 months after I applied, so I had to leave. Currently I'm mostly doing Bōsōzoku/DelinquentRP, which is fully detailRP, unless it's a rivalry with another gang where rolling comes into play too.

EMS
This has been my favourite faction so far. It was the first faction I joined. It offered me a complete new perspective on the server, not just roleplay, but also how I work and communicate with others. When I applied, I didn't think I'd be accepted, but here we are, it's the most rewarding experience I've had on SRP. It has taught me how to work under pressure where I couldn't before. I was part of it for almost a year, before quitting. I'm not very good at running two accounts and when I moved it to my alt, it fell behind. I trusted other people would be more active in the meantime as I find a job for myself. I'm planning to join this back in the future at some point, if they accept me back with open arms. I grew a lot there and have done everything.

COUNCILLOR
Councillors requires a different kind of engagement than I've not done before. I've pretty much befriended all of them and pretty much interacted with all of them. I really enjoy contributing in my own way, which is mostly a creative aspect, as I'm asked a lot for building their/our events. It's the current faction I'm in and I hope it stays like that for a while.

BUILD TEAM
Joining the build team has been such an honour. I've been helping with mostly events, but I've done a few permanent builds. This is something that keeps me hooked. The team is full of talented people. I really enjoy working with them and even became good friends with one of them. I've learned new techniques and expressed my creativity. It's a completely different side of SRP that allows me to express my creativity. I've gotten so good since I joined, I truly love this team.

OUTSIDE
On more OOCly parts. I spent a lot of time on creative hobbies. I do tailoring and I used to give out free skins for newer players, but that has stopped since I don't have the time for it anymore. I also have done digital art for a lot of people, mostly for their applications. I'm also known for the unique Minecraft GUI's. I've made plenty of those for the community.

Shop Information

‧₊ ♪˚ What shop are you applying for?:

Rotasu Music

‧₊ ♪˚ Why do you want to become a Shopkeeper?:

I want to become a Shopkeeper to look for an opportunity to create something that is truly mine. Something that can reflect my ideas and effort. Most of my experiences inside the server were shaped by already existing environments that required a different kind of effort. I have enjoyed most of the spaces I participated in and applied to, I have not yet made something from the ground up. While Rotasu Music is already an existing shop, it still requires creating something unique. This gives me an opportunity to be a creator in a different way than I already am.

Responsibility is a big reason shopkeeper role appeals to me. A shop is not a place that just exists there, it needs to be taken care of and work needs to be put in. That effort and attention is something I'm willing to give to the shop. It needs these things to remain relevant in the community. I am drawn to responsibility, because I’m studying Logistics Supervisor and the most important thing there is responsibility. It gives me a way to learn a real life trait from a game. I want to always give myself the chance to grow in any way possible. This gives me more purpose on the server, instead of logging on without a clear direction. I want to have that sense of accountability to motivate me to hop online and stay organized. This is a way for me to learn how I can approach things in a different way, more thoughtfully. It will encourage me to take myself on the server more seriously.

For me it is something more than just filling in a role. I can enjoy the process of building (I LOVE BUILDING) and maintaining something different. There is something very satisfying about watching something grow (including myself) over time, when that’s a result of your own effort. It's the improving of the layout in the shop, seeing how things operates or seeing how more players visit and come back, those small signs of progress are what will make this role very rewarding to me. I am not just interested t in the end result, but in the journey of getting there. I want to teach myself what works and what doesn’t, I want to learn from mistakes.

I also really enjoy interacting with people in a way. In a lot of situations on the server, interactions are brief or situational. While working at a shop is often like that too, I want to create a setting where it can happen more regularly by standing out. I want to build familiarity with others, think of returning visitors and the employees. I want to create that sense of continuity. Over time those small conversations will turn into something more.

I want to be part of the reason that shops have the potential to shape the atmosphere of the server, I think people don’t realize that shops can create that. A well run shop can contribute so much more than people currently do, Henki-Do and Pinkumo are on such a good path. I wish to join that too. I want it to feel alive and welcoming. It adds to the overall experience, not just for one person, but for everyone that visits or wants to have another RP-based environment. I want to be part of that, I want to contribute to the environment, I want to create a place where people feel comfortable spending their time, more than just buying stuff. This is a way I can create something that is a hang out spot where it feels like there is something happening, even in small ways. I want to bring a more IC and personal approach to the role. I don’t want the shop to be just selling and buying. I think players should feel like they are interacting with a person, that they can create a connection with. That means it can take time to respond, to engage and to create that friendly atmosphere. Even small things, can make a big difference. It’s a way I can create a place where it can feel genuine.

Some other reasons I want to explore this role is by taking a creative approach, something that goes beyond the obvious. Think of small traditions within the shop, where players can begin to expect or look forward to. This could be a weekly “highlight”, recurring theme or make the shop more recognizable than it already is. While these are more ideas, I want to create it myself. It’s a way I can create a sense of progression and change. Instead of another static idea. Let it evolve, either through visual updates or expanding the items offered. I think it’s important for something like this to feel like a bigger part than just a shop, it will be just the beginning. I want to challenge myself in terms of discipline. It’s easy to be motivated at the start of something, but genuinely maintaining that motivation over time can be difficult. It’s always been a challenge to me. This is another way to learn from a game where I can push myself to stay consistent even when it requires effort. This is something I want to improve on, not just starting up things, but really maintaining them. The shopkeeper provides a way to work on that.

Another opportunity is to improve one more ability, the ability to handle different types of situations. Not every interaction will be the same and not everything will be straightforward. There is gonna be these moments where I will need to solve problems, maybe handle misunderstands, adapt to sudden changes and so on. These situations will require patience and the ability to think calmly. As I said before, I value the chance to develop these skills. I am not approaching this with doing the bare minimum, I want to go over and beyond. If the opportunity is given, I will commit to it. Keep it rolling and always think of new ways to improve and stay engaging. I understand it comes with certain expectations and I'm more than enough prepared to meet them. I do take this seriously, but I also want it to remain enjoyable for myself. It shouldn't feel forced, I want it to be natural. Find that balance.

SRP has been a big part of my life, I joined a few factions and a community team, but nothing has ever given me the chance to leave an impression. This may be a way for me to create something people remember me for, even if it’s small. This alone makes everything worthwhile. I see this as a step forward in the community. Creating something to reflect who I am, is something I will take pride in. Leadership has been part of 3 years of my life now, due to my study, let me try it for once and do it right.

‧₊ ♪˚ What do you plan to do with your shop, and what makes it unique?:

DOWN TO EARTH
I’ve talked about it a lot in the past question, but the most important foundation for me for a shop is that it feels approachable. I don’t want people to just walk in, ask to see items, buy and leave. That environment is everywhere, while of course for the people that don’t want more, can just do that. I just want to heavily focus on the experience of the shop emotionally in a RP based environment. The people who are interested can turn this space into something of their own too. Build familiarity within the shop. It is a music shop, but I also want it to have the same vibe as restaurants in SRP.

The shop should feel like a second home where they can come in. I don't want people think it's exclusive and make them scared to come in, sometimes there is stuff and it's actually too much. It's supposed to be a safe space where everyone feels comfortable, whether they are new to the server or have been playing for a while on the server. The people that put in effort, will get it back. It’s going to be an environment that’s more than the shop itself. I want to create an atmosphere where people can come back, even if they don’t want to buy anything, just relying on interactions. Letting people step away from their post when possible to interact with people in a certain way.

GENERATIONS
Something I want to explore is structuring the shop around different musical eras and generations. Instead of having one single identity, it can evolve through phases. It can have a different style, atmosphere and energy. Each generation will bring a difference in visual design, sounds, events and interaction style.

One phase might feel very relaxed while the other can be very energetic. I want this to be experimental, not in the way they would happen randomly. It should feel like transitions, just like going through different chapters. I want players to be interested and are involved in experiencing these shifts. It can become something you follow and listen to. This is also a concept to introduce players to different styles of music. It doesn’t need to always be educational, but it can expose players to ideas. My main thing for the shop is to be RP/interaction based, but this is a way to also add discovery to the list.

ENTERTAINMENT
I was thinking of introducing mascots, but instead of the traditional mascots every shop has that is cantered around a single identity. I want to introduce more characters that can recur at random times and have the personalities become part of the identity. They won’t exist for decoration, but to add even more interactions and a sense of atmosphere. Each character will represent a different aspect of the shop, either a specific era, music style, mood or theme. I want players to recognize them and anticipate their appearance, instead of having them there every opening. The goal of it is to make it feel like it’s less run by one person but inhabited by a cast of distinct people, each adding their own uniqueness to the shop.

These personalities can have multiple roles. Some may act as hosts for events or live shows, taking a more engaging presence when something happens. Others might appear only during themed nights, reinforcing the generation idea of evolving depending on occasions. I don’t want there to be a core character that represents, as I want every player that plays a character to have a chance to be someone familiar. This might change depending on what works best for the shop

Some characters I was thinking of are inspired by different musical eras:

Retro
A more nostalgic and composed personality.

Chaotic Punk
Someone a bit louder for events and festivals, bringing something unpredictable.

Modern
Have something more chill, let them have that modern slang.

These characters could maybe take inspiration from band dynamics or something more stereotypical that’s associated with the music. Some will be used as background presence to keep players around longer and others will be there as wildcards to be used for occasional ‘events’. I want these characters to feel alive, I will make sure the players who play them are allowed to develop them as they see fit. They don’t need deep lore, but maybe a few small consistencies, so if anybody else plays them they are still that characters. This concept can stand out to make it less static and really make the mascot thing that is going around shops feel even more layered.

STORY TELLING AND ROLEPLAY
I want the entire place to function as an active storytelling space. I want players to be able to step into roleplay easier. This is by making the shop as a stage for interconnected storylines. It won’t be random one off things, but actual arcs and progressions. I want it to be a meeting point for bands or performance groups who are interested. Each player that is interested I want to be in a community. I’d love to plan a story that people can follow and let roleplay also develop naturally. I want scenarios that pull visiting players into small roles, maybe assistance, that their actions actually influence how the space plays out, occasional situations where people are required to react for changes and some detail heavy encounters for the detail roleplayers out there.

I’d like stories to be parallel threads happening at the same time, where people can choose to follow which one they find interesting. Things might be unfolding subtly which might become part of a bigger picture if players show interest. Consequences should matter and surely when it happens in an event and conflict. Mistakes will be carried forward, instead of one roleplay session it being a story for all. Relationships between the ‘mascots’ can shift this way and I want to give outside players the chance to take on roles within the shop temporarily.

COLLABORATIONS
I don't want the shop to feel disconnected from the rest of the server. It's important that it's a shared place for groups and organizations that can come together, rather than something just for me and the employees. I don't want just one player to leave a mark, I want entire groups to have the ability to leave their mark. Rotasu Music collaboration is something I really want to work out. I actively plan to work with other factions and organizations to create roleplay experiences. These wouldn’t just be occasional events, they can be ongoing activity, allowing it to constantly be there. I was thinking of working with groups like Hoshino Productions and Mionari Entertainment, some verified business owners. Hoshino Productions works well as an entertainment company and Mionari Entertainment is directly related with music as a record label company. Making Rotasu Music become part of their world too. As this is Karakura, an island based on Japan, I also want a more traditional layer to be incorporated. The collaboration would be with the shrine to allow them to perform as well and use Japanese inspired music to make ceremonies and atmosphere, which creates a more contrast for the modern theme I’m aiming for.

I also want to introduce the idea of ‘temporary takeovers’. It’s where a faction or organization can reshape part of the shop to reflect their identity. For a period of time, the space can change with who is involved bringing their own perspectives and more into the shop. I’d always like traces to remain once the ‘temporary takeover’ has ended. This way they are contributing to the shop in a way that lasts. I want the shop to belong to the community as much as it does to me, become a bigger part of the server.

SOCIAL HUB
The shop will be an extension of the server’s social life. It would operate as a second music club and a gathering place where people can just exist. The music side of the shop will be everywhere. Some nights might lean into shared sessions with a certain genre, other times it will become discussion based. I want people to talk about music in this shop. There doesn’t need to be a clear beginning or ending. I need fun interactions added to the shop. I want players to come up and show off their creativity. The goal here is to be a recognizable fallback point within the server. A place where people go without a reason, where they can just relax, without the need to buy anything.

STUDENT PROGRAM
The server is called SchoolRP, I think it’s very important to also add a setting to it. Rather than treating it as a very strict system, it will be a platform for student expression. Different school clubs, sport teams and groups can step in and showcase their own identity through music, storytelling and performance. Instead of the students just simply helping as employees, they can be seen as contributors. Every group is allowed to use the space in their own way, maybe their own night with a specific theme. These aren’t for openings, but more private gatherings inside the shop. I imagine the place to be a space for celebration nights and team gatherings. This creates a system for players to be forced to express in a different way than they do in school and introduce them to the shopkeeper faction. A lot of players haven’t had a job, this is just a small introduction on how it is to be inside.

The shop will bridge the city part of the server and the school part of the server. A player might just enjoy the club/team/group event and later return to just spend time there. It’s a way to make it a regular environment. If this program has a good start, I would allow students to take it at their own pace. I won’t be too difficult with keys, as long as the items/customs are kept safe. I want to work together with groups to create something others can experience and get more school-based roleplay outside of the school.

NEWS
Can’t ever have too many ideas. I want to introduce a ‘news system’. It shouldn’t be scattered and forgotten, it’s a system I want to keep visible and ongoing. It’s mostly going to be on signs on a physical board in-game, but bigger news can be extended to the forums to make it feel alive. This won’t be just to list information, but to present things. Alongside simple announcements or upcoming events, I want to include edited contents such as short trailers and videos with highlights. The people can relive the moment in events or catch up if they missed it. This can also build anticipation. I’ve been editing videos for some people now, I wish to do something for myself. I also want to experiment with ‘fun facts’ segments in the news, music related stuff, segments for groups and more. These don’t have to be major things, just quick interesting pieces that add extra personality, something extra to engage with. Making it an actual media space and less like a notice board. Beyond content. I want to recognize contributors this way, someone who helped in an event, performed or stood out can be put on the notice board. This is how I can make players acknowledge and reinforce the idea that interactions matter.

Everything will become a larger part of the ‘flow’. Even if someone isn’t present all the time, they can stay connected by seeing what they missed or players can look forward to something. It gives newer or less experienced players also a softer way to engage. This way they can observe instead of being forced to immediately jump in.

FREE REWARD SYSTEM
I want to introduce more systems than just the simple buying and selling. It should be something to experiment with. A big part of it is implementing a free reward system, but in a way that it feels earned. I don’t want people to just simply walk in and receive something for free. Rewards will come from achievements and participation. People who attend events and participate in shows will get points that they can later exchange for a reward, depending on how many points you have, the more the more expensive stuff you can buy, the less the cheaper stuff you can buy, the same system arcanes have. Players can also get points by doing challenges. It’s going to be small activities. This could be like finding hidden things during events, completing a simple riddle or winning a game. I also like the idea of making it night linked, nights that aren’t for the opening of Rotasu Music, but the student program or collaborations, joining or hosting such a night can also give you points. This is a way to reward people for RP and contributing to the shop.

EVENTS AND NIGHTS
Listening NightsTurn the shop into a relaxed hangout space where people gather and experience music together. Let a band play on the stage and keep it chill. Adding small lights and let the vibe do it's job.
Mystery Box NightA high risk and high reward event. Players can buy a certain box and they'll get loot. They'll get their moneys worth of items, depending on which loot box they buy. It's just a fun way to get a surprise item or items that aren't really sold in the shops. Announcing the big wins publicly and building hype around certain items, but keeping it fair.
Chill & Talk SessionsNo structure, nothing. A sit down area for open conversations, keeping it simple and makes the shop in a social anchor and drink some coffee.

Live shows would be hosted often to keep activity. I want to take things further with festivals that aren't meant to happen all the time. To make them special as they are limited, but create it bigger. During festivals the shop will be changed to add onto it. I want people to look back and remember a specific event by just looking at the shop. The levels have to feel significant. It's temporary uniqueness and certain elements is just for the events itself. Whether it's limited interactions or special items I want it to encourage community gathering.

THEMED COLLECTIONS
Limited collections and releases is also a fun concept to add, different reasons to return. Think of custom collections for specific festivals, retro music sets and a late night cafe bundle. I’m currently also working two jobs. I'm ready to buy plenty of customs for this shop.

‧₊ ♪˚ What will you sell in your shop?

The music instruments are the heart of the shop:
- Guitars
- Bongos
- Boombox
- Flute
- Drums
- Piano's/Keyboards/Organs
I can keep on naming these items the shop sells, with the gadgets and all that, but I think you get it. It should feel like a creative space. Coffee and drinks is also sold at the shop making it a music café. I want the instruments, the items that the shop sell have stories.

I'm planning on buying plenty of custom items myself or have seasonal items. Like winter could introduce seasonal drinks and special occasions unique one time items. I want to invest in creating something truly unique.
I want to mostly add furniture items, some back items. The store has plenty of musical items already, I want to explore the other parts more.

The base of the interior will be warm and saturated. I want to mostly use magentas and pinks, to make it bright and hot coloured. Add neon signage and subtle gradients, not make it too overwhelming. While I want to keep the interior moving with the flow of the shop and direction of which it's heading, the current plan is to keep it a more underground vibe. Give it graffiti and raw textures, give it a classic studio feel with a wooden floor and keep it aesthetic. The magentas and pinks are supposed to draw the eye towards certain spots, like behind the stage or cashier area. Hidden sections can be revealed through the pink. The moving/changing interior takes advantage of the collaboration part of the shop that they can add their own details into it.

‧₊ ♪˚ Exterior:

Untitled design (3).jpg

The exterior should be a hangout spot, everyone should be able to hangout whenever even without the ability to go inside. It's less like a shop entrance, but more a beach lounge. I want it to shift away from the bright pinks and magentas and lean into sunset colours and marine blues for it to feel like the pier it's supposed to be. I do want a bold storefront with a bold colour to give it energy, but do make it look old, to make it look like it had love on SRP. The chill aspect should really come in play outside, low seating and cushions, coloured sofas and an uneven layout, give it banners and plants to give it life. The outdoor stage I want to feel more like a garage band and less like a full performance stage. It's for people who want to musicRP and small club performances.

‧₊ ♪˚ Backstory:

CHILDHOOD
Kiyotaka Shima, he was born in Osaka, Japan. Music was woven into his every day life, father a talented pianist and guitarist, often performing at local venues. The mother was a babysitter. She worked from home and the house was often filled with other children. They came and went. Creating a strange contrast in the house he lived in, was it a home or a place for others? Kiyotaka didn't stand out much as a young child. He wasn't very demanding in attention, he just played with the others children who came. He did have a quiet havit of observing people.

His father tried to involve him in music, well, of course. There was moments his father guided his hands to the keyboard and others times a guitar, but Kiyotaka wasn't the smartest, he didn't respond well to being taught. He resisted those moments, especially when it was expected of him. Music was there in the house, but he didn't accept it at all. That was only the start of what was to become of the young Kiyotaka Shima.

TEENAGE YEARS
That is when he really started breaking away from expectations and his parents. He became very distant, harder to manage and went away often. He had a thin patience, more anger came up and responses at home were less and shorter. He stopped listening to what was asked of him. He was quiet, but he did need attention as a kid. He skipped classes, got into fights with fellow students and refused to back down when things started to boil. Teachers and mentors couldn't get through to him at all. He understood everything they said or tried, but he didn't care enough. There was constant tension at home and at school. He was that troubled kid.

At home it was difficult, there as always children there. His parents cared, but they didn't know what to do with him anymore, it was a teen that didn't listen. They tried everything from discipline, structure and directions, but that only pushed Kiyotaka further away. The mother tried softer approaches, but that wasn't enough, he always argued, before the house became quiet. He just needed to be pointed into a direction he refused to go to. He spent time outside, around his kind of people, who didn't expect anything from him. Music was really quiet throughout these years.

COLLEGE YEARS
The change in Kiyotaka came gently, it wasn't a switch that turned on. The environment was way different, there was less structure, no expectations, you either showed up or didn't, if you didn't, it's your problem not the professors. It was more freeing and open. He wasn't being pushed, he was able to decide on his own terms. Music came back in a different way. It wasn't because his father told him to play it, but it was him discovering it. Different cultures and genres. He started feeling with the sound. It wasn't something he resisted as much anymore.

At the start he still got into trouble, but Miyu was a poet he met. They shared love for creativity and Kiyotaka wanted to change and that was something he decided. He pursued Ethnomusicology, because of her and Cultural studies focused on Music. This wasn't an expectation, but that did make his father smile. A son that he always loved, finding what he cared about. Miyu was always there, they didn't try to change him, but didn't ignore the flaws either. Stayed without the excuses and left when it went bad, this is what forced him to do self reflection.

YOUNG ADULT LIFE
Kiyotaka Shima carries both versions. He didn't erase the past fully, the roughness is still there, you can hear it in how he speaks sometimes or handles things, but it's respectful in a way he wasn't before. His relationship with parents improved over time, they wanted to help him where they could. He found his direction and now when he came home, it was home. There is understanding now, still silence, if the kids aren't yelling, but now music filled the room. He did always love his parents, but sometimes he preferred his mother more, she stayed a remaining presence throughout. His story has just started.

‧₊ ♪˚ Looks:
Every small detail is a statement about him. He stood at 5'11, but everything looked casual. He gives the impression of his late twenties/early thirties. He is more lean than bulky and his posture is really relaxed and slightly slouched. He always leans to a side, to give that feeling.

His face has sharp angles that makes it look harsh, but his eyes is what softens it. The eyes are warm brown and half lidded. He looks both interested and tired at the same time, gaze lingering with that smirk that plays naturally on his lips, addition to his personality. The bridge of his nose and cheeks are kissed with strong freckles.

The hair is what's chaotic. It's dark brown with one shaved side while the other side flows past his shoulder. The back strands are caught in a ponytail. One eyebrow was slit, it wasn't a scar, he just thought it was cool.

The hands are dressed in rings, many different shapes, think of butterflies and skulls or weird patterns. His ears are heavily pierced with large gauge plugs and dangling charms. Necklaces layer around his neck, chains, ropes, whatever he could find.
