Describe your activity on the server:
I'd like to say my activity is pretty consistent. Writing is definitely a hobby that I enjoy, so a lot of my free time goes toward this server when it comes to roleplaying, interacting, n' such.
I've been involved with the sports faction for a very long time, but I find a lot of my enjoyment comes from engaging with all sorts of people in this server.
I'm online everyday for a couple of hours just wandering about, hanging out with people, or I'm at my desk occupied with something else. Regardless, I'm always online.
My schedule is very flexible right now but it may vary when I start school again. That honestly has never really impacted my activity in the past unless I had exams coming.
What is your motivation for applying?:
While I have experienced many communities and have roleplayed countless characters, I have yet to
understand what it would be like to be a block officer!! Every announcement I am encouraged to apply, and I think that's what brought me
to this point. I'd like to see what roleplay is like on this side of the emergency faction.
What knowledge do you have of Police Work?
Honestly, my knowledge is minimal.

PATROLS | REPORTS | DESK DUTY | RAIDS |
|---|---|---|---|
| A group of officers follow a route around town to make sure there are no dangers within the area. | Anyone who has watched a crime take place or experienced one themselves can make a report. These reports help keep track of incidents and may be useful for future investigations. | An officer working at the front desk is usually the first person people interact with when entering the station. They assist you with anything needed to be sorted at hand. | Officers may participate in property raids as part of criminal investigations, assisting in the recovery of illegal weapons and the apprehension of suspects who are actively evading law enforcement. |
. . . but wait, there's more.
| RADIO | A communication device used by officers to talk with each other and receive updates or requests for assistance. | STUNBLASTERS | A non lethal weapon used to temporarily incapacitate a person through an electrical charge. | RIOT SHIELD | A shield used to defend against physical attacks or dangerous situations. | BODY CAMS | Cameras worn by officers to record interactions and incidents while on duty. | BATON | A tool used for protection or crowd control. |
| PEPPER SPRAY | A chemical spray used to temporarily blind and irritate an attacker. | GAS MASK | Protective equipment worn to filter harmful gases and/or chemicals, but also used to hide the identity of an officer. | CROWBAR | A handy thing to force open doors n' remove obstacles, only used when absolutely necessary. | CCTV | These are the security cameras around town. They're used to monitor activity in specific areas. | HANDCUFFS | What kind of officer doesn't have handcuffs? These are used to safely detain and transport individuals who are under arrest. |
Why is Police important to SchoolRP?
You can't have the good without the bad, and you can't have the bad without the good. I think KPD is important to have because CrimeRP needs something to balance it out. Without police, there wouldn't really be consequences or a response to criminal activity, which I think would be unrealistic in a big town like Karakura.
Do you acknowledge that if training is held whilst you are online, you are needed to attend or you will be punished?
Yes, I acknowledge this.
What's your character's full name?:
“My name is Nilou Funayūrei, it’s nice to meet you.”
How old is your character (if accepted)?:
“I am 25 years old.”
What are your character's gender and pronouns?:
Female | She/Her
Please select your highest academic role at the time of writing this application:
(Grade-12/Bachelors/Masters/PhD):
“I have my Bachelors in medicine. I was a doctor for some time.”
What languages does your character know besides Japanese?:
“The only language I’m fluent in is Japanese. But .. these days I am learning a bit of JSL, you could say I know enough to engage in a conversation with it.”
Describe your character; how they look, what makes them unique?
A waterfall of glacial blonde flowed behind her like a silvery veil, white skin as pale as winter mist seemed almost translucent beneath the light. Her brown eyes and their soft doe shape betrayed the illusion of an apparition, sweetening her spectral appearance with an earthy serenity that anchored her among the living. Was this a ghost or a vampire? Funayūrei obviously doesn't spend that much time out in the sun. If there's a chance for nightly errands, she'll take it. Plus, for a woman with a boat spirit as a last name, you would think she'd spend a lot of time by the sea. Wrooooong .. it's quite the opposite, actually.
How does your character act in a professional/casual situation?
“Creating a comfortable environment is always in my best interest. I try to remain polite and .. somewhat approachable? Though I understand the importance of professionalism when the situation calls for it. I am generally calm and cooperative, and beyond anything, I prefer to resolve conflicts through communication before resorting to more serious measures. Uhhm.. I hope others will agree.”
Despite what she says, Funayūrei presents herself bashfully. Social situations are where her composure is tested the most, but she never allows discouragement to prevail, pushing past her nervousness rather than letting it shape the person others see. Of course, there will be times where that isn’t always the case. This woman is as faint as fog weaving through a forest, just barely getting by with her sights obscured by the uncertainty of her own emotions. Nearly everything is like a rollercoaster to her - jumpscare!
Remarkably, her posture is elegant. She moves around delicately, careful with the things she says or does. However, even the most harmless accidents make her feel like her entire world is crumbling. Dramatic, right?
What is their outlook on the idea of co-workers & teamwork?
An uncomfortable silence came from the ghostly woman. She pondered the question before finally responding, "I don't mind teamwork." Swallowing her words. Her gaze danced around the place, refusing to stick to one area. "Well.. I appreciate it more than I dislike it. The last thing I want to do, however, is trouble anyone with my company. I think I'll only ask for help when I /really/ need it." Another pause. "But-- if it's okay with other people, then I'd like to participate and be as much help as I can. I think you can do a lot of good things with minds alike. That's what matters to me the most."
What's your character's backstory?
" ... What tale?"
"The tale of the Funayūrei. Legend says they approach livin' sailors while wearin' creepy white robes n' try to capsize their ships. It's creepy stuff, dude .."
PAGE I | FANCY A FOLKTALE?
A surname meant to represent a family became a vessel for superstition, leaving them stranded on the shores of their own hometown. Can you imagine? Whispers followed them almost hauntingly. Rumors spreading like wildfire, plaguing the thoughts of others while being passed on like chainmail. To many, they were not a family, but a reminder of misfortune they wanted no part in. Within the walls of their home and away from the judgment of others, Nilou found peace living alongside her mother and her younger brother. Their little family became a harbor amidst the isolation, a place untouched by the cruelty of the outside world. Her father, however, belonged to the sea for work. A sailor by trade, his presence came and went with the waves. Life seemed quite small for the Funayūrei family, but all they really needed was eachother, and with each passing day, she became more content with their quiet home. Maybe, just /maybe/, things would be okay.
PAGE II | YOUR SPIRIT
The moonlily spent much of her childhood at her mother's side, often doing favors for her praise. Dusting shelves and ornaments no one would ever care to look over twice, going into the garden to pick vegetables for dinner, hanging laundry beneath the night sky even though they were supposed to be outside earlier in the day. Procrastination at its finest, but it only caught up to her once and a while. Wherever her mother went, Nilou wasn't far behind.
Her mother possessed a kind of strength that never faltered beneath the judgement of others, regardless of how much the burden of peoples words weighed on Nilou and her brother. She had to stay strong and support her children at all times since.. well, she was the only one who could be there. One random day, late at night, she walked with her daughter to find the quiet her restless dove couldn't get during the day, a breath of fresh air for the both of them, you could say. "Nini." Her mother called out to her, taking her hand. "People will always decide who they think you are before they ever know you." Her words came out as a soft reminder. "Don't let anyone /ever/ damage the good in your soul, your mind, and your spirit. You know who you are." She slipped her hands around her neck, removing the silver toned locket she wore, now clipping it around Nilou's neck. It was her daughter's to keep for the rest of her life.

PAGE III | LOST AT SEA
Weeks had passed, and it had been awhile since Nilou's father had come home.
During a stormy season, one of his co-workers returned in his place, unfortunately carrying a truth no family ever wishes to hear. Sometime past midnight, the sea had claimed him for good. This news rattled their family immensely. A heart held together by love slowly began to fracture beneath the weight of grief. Her mother's sorrow ran deeper than any wound the eye could see, until eventually, it became too much for her to bear. She passed on from broken heart syndrome, leaving Nilou and her younger brother behind in the remnants of a family that was once whole. With loss came a responsibility she was never meant to inherit. Nilou became the steady hand guiding her brother through the aftermath, carrying the weight of two lives upon her shoulders while hiding the ache of her own heart. The child who once waited by the door for her father's return became the one standing at it, making sure someone else still had a reason to come home.
The Funayūrei name continued to follow them like a ghostly current, pulling them back toward a life already filled with sorrow. Knowing her brother deserved a more promising future, Nilou chose to leave behind the only home she had ever known. Together, they travelled to Karakura.
PAGE IV | OTHERWORLDLY
Naturally, the dove wasted little time dwelling on the past. With her brother depending on her, she threw herself into her studies as soon as she could. While others saw school as little more than a routine, she saw opportunity. Many evenings were spent with her nose buried in books. Determined to build a future through her own efforts, it didn't matter if it costed her sleep. You know what they say: knowledge is your key to freedom.
[ A tearing in the page. ]
Every decision Nilou has made since has been shaped by the love, courage, and faith her parents left behind. A path that has, at last, led her to the Karakura Police Department after long years of hard work.

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE:
Can you legally own a pocket knife in Karakura?
A head shake from the moonlily. "Fortunately not." She continued, "Nobody in Karakura is allowed to carry a pocket knife around."
A very quiet, subtle gulp. "At least .. I sure hope not."
Name 5 medical items that do NOT require a prescription
That number was probably gracious, but she couldn't help but panic a bit. Her finger tapped anxiously against the side of her leg as the answers bounced restlessly in her brain. "Oh, uhm.." The list began to untangle from her mind: "Multivitamins, bandages, melatoninnn.." A focused hum murmured out. ".. Cough syrup? Oh, and a cane."
If you see your co-workers physically abusing an inmate, what should you do?
A frown colored her visage gray, gloom on display. "I pray that's never happened and will never happen, however," She gave the thought some consideration, trying to brush away the cloudy skies within her mind as her nails gently combed through her hair. "I think my first instinct would be to report a situation like that to a higher up. Of course, gather any evidence I possibly could. I'd probably.. intervene." Shocker. A coward like her? Stepping in? Truly, she has a heart of gold. "If an inmate is injured, the honorable thing to do would be to step in between and make sure they're not harmed any further. These inmates are people too, which is why holding our workers accountable is just as important. Plus.. violence is just.." Eeesh. The idea of this scenario had her queasy.
What should you do if you see your co-worker being assaulted?
She replied frantically, "Oh my goodness. I'd- I'd radio for backup if I needed to!"
... Yeah she would. While bawling her eyes out, but you can probably count on her to get you to safety. "Ummmhh.. If the person or .. people .. or whoever's hurting my co-worker doesn't heed to my verbal warnings first, then I'd use my stun blaster to my advantage. For our safety and theirs, depending on the situation."
What do you do if you find out that your co-worker is corrupt and is helping criminal organizations?
"What?" That's a possibility? Funayūrei was too stunned to speak. The thought hadn't even crossed her mind; she had entered this position believing in the good she could do, not the corruption she might have to face. For a moment, she questioned whether this was truly the right path for her. But.. well, it was a little too late to turn back now! "That.. sounds like a situation I hope I never find myself in." Her fingers nervously brushed against one another. "But if it did happen, I couldn't pretend I didn't know. It wouldn't be fair to the people who rely on us. I would document everything I could and bring it to the higher ups."
How would you react to a criminal trying to bribe you?
"I'd .. say no." Her lashes fluttered, letting the quiet flood in after her simple answer. She spoke up after awhile. ".. If they keep persisting, I'd fine them."
