maybe for the server a rp request area?? I'm new to the server so i personally know how hard it is to approach others and ask to rp especially if you have social anxiety so it'd be easier to rp if we can post it and others opt to join

How will this benefit the server and community?:
It'll help people who are shy and new or just awkward to actually rp instead of awkwardly sitting there

I know its a struggle when it comes to making new friends and roleplay situations. Usually the school setting is a good place to make friends while its school time! attend classes, interact with people, and it will slowly grow!
 
Theres the buddy bench in school for this which is basically just wanting a friend.

I do think that sometimes it’s hard for newer players to get into roleplay especially when they join on IC weekends or after school. A designated area similarly to plaza that new players are made aware of when they join to meet new people would be a neat thing to have!
 
i think it was suggested a while ago, but a little toggleable sidequest `!` marker above people's head as kind of a "hey, i would like to roleplay! talk to me!" could be a nice alternative to a fully dedicated area.

think of it like an afk or building tag that goes above the players' name
something like this but for "new" players could be quite nice as well, maybe those with < 3 days of playtime, though newer players are typically very recognisable

Something like what 25 said would be a cool idea, but a whole area dedicated to it maybe not. Plaza and school grounds are kinda already these areas.

i see a lot of smaller and more private servers with a system like this in their discords (alongside SRP itself having moreso a in-game event system for the big server-wide announcements). im not wholeheartedly sure how something like this would be added considering simply how the SRP discord works but i think something along the lines of a mechanic of sorts would be actually really nice. i find myself one of those people, despite being a long-time player, having a lot of trouble coming up with RP scenarios anywhere outside a select group. something smaller, quainter calls for roleplay without the punishment of it being something like metagaming i can imagine would help a lot. i think also having something like an in-game mechanic (like the aforementioned exclamation point) would be more suitable for an environment like SRP, but i definitely dont think its fair to socially anxious players who have trouble speaking up to constantly be telling them to just go to classes where it is infinitely harder to truly engage with others (unless the specific lesson calls for it). Often, this isn't a reliable way of making friends, unfortunately, and while it is a good thing to do AND i do encourage too; I think promoting real person-to-person roleplay beyond a specified environment is a lot more beneficial to growth and connecting with others on the server, especially somewhere where its wholeheartedly on their own terms!!!!!!
