◤ Backstory◢
Sano was born in Jeju-si, Korea. She was born into a family of 5, making her the youngest child in her family. For most of her life, she often tried her best to be the best student and daughter as her parents often ignored her. Sano couldn't get their attention much, but she tried her best regardless in hopes of trying to get their attention. At a young age, she was set up to learn French by Language Exchange Partners. Her parents had to have Sano successful and somewhat able to get a job knowing more than one language. Sano only went with it because she enjoyed the attention of her family, which overall taught her French during her childhood. She made friends with the other person trying to learn Korean; it took them around 1 to 2 years to master and use French during her day-to-day life with her new friend; Sano was about 10.
When she turned 16, she had to move to Japan due to her family not liking where they lived, making her move away from her Language Exchange Partner friend. Sano was first saddened but happy that she got to learn a new language, Japanese. Even though she barely knew it at first, she got the hang of it as it was easier for her to see the language overall now. It took her about 6 months to learn it when forcing herself into simple conversations to the market, to make friends, and talking to them about her likes or dislikes of certain things. While living in Japan, she slowly got used to tourists and foreigners coming to Japan. She often talked to them in French or Korean if they knew the language and tried helping them around. From taking their order to her trying to show where certain train stations are if they were lost to find it.
At age 17, she moved again but to Karakura; it wasn't as different as when she moved to Japan. Instead, many other people spoke different languages; this had piqued her interest, but more of her speaking her native language, Korean and French. Overall, Karakura got into studying different languages Karakura had with their citizens and made a friend who knew Russian but also French. They have been friends for a long while now as Sano got used to using the first languages she knew. Even her vocabulary within the languages has increased dramatically. While she stayed longer with her friend, she slowly learned Russian while teaching them Korean. Because both of them agreed to teach each other a language they were interested in. Her friend would teach her Russian as Sano would teach them Korean or, at the very least, the Korean she knew. It took Sano about a year and 6 months to take notes on specific phrases she didn't know, along with using flashcards and trying to exercise in conversations with her friend.
Currently, Sano struggles with a lot of things, mainly keeping her emotions on check as she has grown quickly in her life due to her parents leaving on her own and only making her learn certain things to their desire. Luckily, Sano is with a friend who'll mostly watch over her when she's down, having a small own paradise of her own so she can be who she is.
