On August 17th, 2025, during the late hours of the night, many students reported seeing multiple faculty members carrying a bleeding person from outside the school grounds into the hospital. The traumatizing scene, for many, sparked a series of rumors and questions that soon began to reach the ears of more students. From an attack by criminals to a conspiracy theory of a backstabber within the faculty members, the rumors spread like wildfire. Still, one question remained the same: What happened during that infamous night?
On that night, Vice-Chancellor Byeol Akihito organized a social event for the professors of Karakura College, a pajama party, that aimed at improving morale within the faction, especially during these times of burnout amongst members, and to create an environment where everyone could formally meet one another. This event, happening inside Akihito’s office, was characterized by games and fun activities.

We were going to have a fun sleepover. We played Duck, Duck, Goose for a bit and then did some Murder Mystery.” —A professor recalls from that experience.

However, the fun night took a dark turn as one of the professors moved the event to room 312, a well-known haunted room inside the school, and brought an Ouija board with him, wanting to communicate with the spirits of the room. Unfortunately for Cole Jung-Mayumi, a history professor, that night would mark his life, as many professors recall him being targeted by the ghost upon playing the game.

It started with Cole. He started antagonizing the ghost, and well... As a result? The spirit ended up stabbing him.” —Professor Kurai Nikos said.

Do you know if he is doing okay after the attack?

We rushed him to the hospital as soon as we could. Thankfully, he’s doing okay. — We had to keep his wound closed as the spirit left the wound open.

We were able to reach out to Cole Jung-Mayumi after he left the hospital and interview him about the recent incident at the pajama party. Here is what he said:

First of all, thank you for your time, professor. Now, can you tell us what happened that night?

Long story short, it was a professor’s sleepover in Byeol’s office. And after some games, we went to (classroom) 312 and began to mess around until things got real.

What happened inside that room?

We began having these random chills, weight being placed upon our shoulders, things moving dramatically. Things turned uncivil as I started saying some ‘questionable’ words to the ghost. I placed a Bible and demanded that they be gone.

What about the attacks?

I tried to get some salt, knowing that in movies salt works well against spirits, and then I got ‘teleported’ into a closet with the spirit. I instinctively began kicking the ghost as I tried to escape, but she twisted my leg. She then teleported me back to the classroom, when I heard the words ‘You are next!’ and then I felt a pair of scissors piercing my shoulder.

Professor Jung-Mayumi declared later on that he had been having more encounters with the ghost after the initial attack. He stated that the second interaction was soon after the incident, inside a bathroom, where she appeared once again, taunting him after he was released from the hospital.

But the story does not end there. A name was mentioned during one of the interviews about this incident. The apparent professor who brought the Ouija board and encouraged the faculty members to participate in this paranormal activity was also mentioned.

This main event, was it planned?

Planned? Probably, I’d say it was since Abe, the Professor who planned it, seemed to be prepared with the Ouija board. However, nobody expected what would’ve happened next.” —A professor remarked.

So, was it Professor Abe Irwin, who many students and faculty members, responsible for this incident? We reached out to him shortly after the incident to interview him and hear his side of the story. Here is what he said.

... I went through my books of activities and read that an Ouija board would be a good way to get the party going. I personally don’t believe in ghosts, so... It wasn’t a thought that this could go wrong.”

Do you recall anything important during that paranormal interaction?

When we were about to leave, the spirit appeared. She spelt out ‘Satomi’ on the board.

Satomi...?

Satomi Katō. She’s the rumored resident spirit. I can confirm, she is very much real.

People said you were in trouble because of this incident. Is that what all that happened?

Oh... Right. Some members of the staff were highly concerned about having the board in room 312. They urged us not to continue, but I assumed nothing would happen.

The opinions on Professor Irwin’s actions seemed to be divided amongst faculty members; some completely understand that his actions meant no harm, and that he should not be blamed for what he did, while others believe that his actions, whether intentional or not, resulted in one of his colleagues being in the hospital.

Vice-Chancellor Akihito, the host of this social event, has not made any statement since the incident happened. Maybe we are seeing the last days of Professor Irwin? Who knows. What we do know now is that we need to keep our distance from room 312, and if we are going to play with an Ouija board, make sure not to upset the ghost... Or at least make sure that you have someone to take you to the Hospital.
