School Staff's Own Hotline Suggestion

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUGGEST OR MENTION:

I'd like to make the suggestion of adding something like what they have for KPD, but with school staff as well. So you know how there is one number you call to get in touch with any KPD to get like their help well why can't there be a specific hotline for school staff, that only school staff knows and uses to get in touch.

Spoiler: What The KPD Hotline Looks Like

REASONS WHY THIS WOULD BE USEFULL:

1. Most school employees and other school staff can't see specific intercoms making it hard to communicate, and get help if needed. So usually you would have to try and find one of the employees if you needed them for something.

The school staff hotline would make it easier to get in touch with any school staff with just a simple call, and the person that is needed can just come if available. This is also a great way to know if they are busy or not as they could just respond right back to you, saying they are unavailable at the moment. The hotline could be used instead of a global intercom.

2. When using intercoms if you need help with something and call for an SLT, school employee, or co-worker students will sometimes pop up to where you called for help creating a crowd and big scenes when there shouldn't be.

The school staff hotline would make it so that there would be no crowds made by students as they wouldn't know what big thing is going on if needed. This also creates for some privacy if needed, and any school staff doesn't want to make a big announcement about it using the intercoms.

3. The school staff hotline would give a more realistic feel to the school roleplay.

In schools you don't see school staff using intercoms to call for backup, co-workers, or SLT. They have a phone in their classrooms that they use to call fellow co-workers if needed for an escort of a student, needed for SLT to come to the room and fix behavior issues, anything really. So making it so that the school staff have a designated hotline to themselves to use for issues like that would give it a more realistic feel.

No, but that's not realistic at all. Teachers IRL do not have a hotline they use to interact with each other. Maybe some schools, but not usually. It's true they don't use intercom to call another teacher, yet your suggestion won't fix realism.

Teachers in SRP can really make any problem shorter and basically kick said player out of the class rather than wasting everyone's RP and time on someone disturbing the class. Maybe with calling him to detention later on.

I asked for something like this a couple months back, however it would require a large plugin edit. It'd be useful for Receptionists & SLT for incoming calls from KPD, EMS, Parents, etc. However, I don't think the use of it as a radio is necessary due to /intercom already existing.
(Having a phone number setup for this would be much easier than constantly updating phone numbers with the ever-changing receptionist roster)

A current solution which I'll be pushing with an update this weekend after a Senior Leadership meeting: Receptionist numbers will be made public to all major city factions for emergency use or if a member of the public wishes to contact the school and possibly meet with a member of SLT or teacher. This will be a big step towards allowing limited-time access to school grounds with the addition of 'Visitor passes' which will be obtained ICly and permit the visitor to be on school property for their specific reason. More information will be available soon

That's lit... I think that's better than a private hotline like a radio between teachers

This feedback suggestion has been accepted!

This has now been added to our updated Update & Expansion timeline, meaning that the suggestion will hopefully be implemented sometime in the future once we have the appropriate development in place. The temporary solution mentioned above has been implemented for emergency staff only, due to the privacy concerns with Receptionist's phone numbers. However, should the plugin get updated this should be solved.
