I am applying for Heartbooks.
Why do you want to own a shop?:
I would like to own Heartbooks because of the wisdom it will bring to me.I've only done MedicalRP, so I would like to try something new. I feel as though I’d like to work in a book shop because I love to help others, as well as providing others new interests in reading.Whenever I walk into a bookstore I'm always excited because of the enthusiasm that strikes me. Every book is a different adventure, someone's story to tell. Books are a gate to the imagination. I would like to own a shop that promotes knowledge, good habits, and self-assurance.
I know that running a bookshop would be less stressful than managing any other type of shop.
When you own a bookstore, what you're really doing is owning a retail environment that can do something that is quite rare; provide knowledge and happiness.
When you get to run an environment that is so peaceful and serene, you're able to improve players' roleplay experiences. Heartbooks's potential to be one of the greatest shops in SRP is very high, and I think that I could fulfill it.Considering many other unique shops in SchoolRP do not open very often, I would like to change this if I get accepted. Not to mention, I will be hiring people in different time zones to help run the shop when I am offline. I am a very active and dedicated player and I will be available to open very often. Since I have experience working at the hospital, I know how to take leadership into the things I do and take charge of my actions. These skills are highly important for owning a shop because of it being such a big responsibility. I think that if I got the shop it would be a great learning experience for me and anyone who chooses to work with me.
What do you plan to do with the shop?: Since Heartbooks is the only bookstore in SchoolRP, it's already unique the way it is. It has always been just a bookshop and it should stay that way. I am hoping that when I open, I will have everything organized and prepared when players come in to buy their books. I plan to continue running Heartbooks like it was while enhancing small features within the shop. I will have just the right amount of employees to ensure that my staff team is not overcrowded. If I were to have an overabundance of employees, that would cause me and my workers to lose money. While on the subject of employees, I would also like to mention that I will create a fun and active environment for my workers. Having good employee morale will boost productivity and set a mood where everyone in my shop is happy. By working together, employees learn that wins and
losses affect everyone working at the establishment. I plan to have only the essential job roles
if I was to get the shop. I will be having Co-owners, cashiers, and lastly Authors. The Co-owners will be the second in charge. They will be supervising employees, while also managing the shop. The cashiers will be greeting the customers as well as checking them out. The authors will play a main role in the shop by writing books for us to sell and enjoy.
How will your shop be unique?:
As mentioned previously, I would like to keep the shop the same, with the exception of adding a few events that will attract more business. This will build the shops reputation while keeping its legacy the same. Everyone knows that Heartbooks is the place to get a great book after you're finished having a coffee at Heartbucks cafe, and it should continue to stay like that.
-Book Club
The book club is an activity that can be reoccurring at the shop. Anyone interested in books will have a chance to sign up for the book club. It will give customers the chance to try new genres, gain new friends, and get involved with the community. I feel that the book club could bring more customers and exposure to the shop. The club will also boost sales because the members of the club will be purchasing the book that is chosen.
-Tutoring
I’m still not sure if I would like to include this in the shop, but I thought I would still mention it. I think this event would bring realism to the roleplay as I know that many libraries/bookstores have tutors at them tutoring kids. During this event, I will bring in extra staff to help as many people as needed. People can put in a request that states what they need help with and a staff member will quickly come to their service to help them.
-Discounts
About once or twice a month I will have some type of sale for my store. As of now, I have the idea of offering coupons to customers. If a customer purchases something from Heartbucks, they will receive a coupon to use at Heartbooks. I am not sure how much the discount will be yet, but I believe that if this was to happen, it will drive customers to both stores.
How many employees are you planning to have?:
I plan to only have 3 roles considering that the store is very small and a book store doesn’t need as many employees as any other store would.

-Co-owner (2) 17+
The Co-owner is the second in command. They will have to enforce the owner’s rules and serve as an intermediary for any kind of issues that may come up.
-Cashiers (4) 16+
The cashiers will be in charge of checking out customers at the registers. The cashiers will be required to have customer service skills and knowledge about books. If a customer is unsure of what book they would like, a cashier could assist them and recommend a book.
-Authors (2) 17+
The author role is one of the most important jobs in the shop. They will be writing new novels which will be sold to the public. They must be exceptionally good at writing, along with the ability to write a good plot.
