What are your current roles on the server? (If you're a college, specify your degree level):

Grade 12: Stellan Vandelay
College B: Bryan Emi

Describe your activity and roleplay experience on the server:

Let me start by saying I've been playing on this server for 5 years. I've taken some breaks, but I’ve been around long enough to know the rules, the players, and how the server has changed over time. I did gangrp, I did Jockrp. I’ve done a lot within the server and when it comes to be being active I do work outside of the game to be honest but when I’m off I do always find time for me to get on my pc because it is something I look forward to which is playing games so in that note if I were to be it in number Activity’s probably 8/10 and roleplay experience on the server I would say the same 8/10

In your own words, why do you think professors are important to SchoolRP?
The reason I honestly think professors are important to SchoolRP?

Professors, of course, are there for college students when they come from high school, but not only that. In the name, the whole server is about the school, and depending on the teachers/professors, they can be the reason people play, why someone would want to roleplay, or even why someone would show up to school. I feel like they play a big role because I started as a high school student, just going to classes, and, honestly, a teacher at the time helped me learn how to really play the game and understand it better. You know how bad high school classes get sometimes. It means a lot to me because maybe I could help someone learn more about roleplaying, the game, the rules, or even the subject I would want to teach. I think they play a big role on the server in keeping the flow going. It is also there because college students can't be in the same class as high schoolers, since it is a community college and high school, and since the Bobcats and Spartans have a rivalry going, that wouldn't work out.

Do you acknowledge that if you are inactive, you may face demotion or removal from the faction?

I acknowledge that, and it’s completely understandable.

Do you understand that if your application is accepted, you may have to undergo professor training?:

I very much do understand, and hopefully, if it does, I will be looking forward to that!

In-Character Information

What's your character's full name?

Kuro made his way to the door, knocking 2 times before gently opening it. He bowed to the interviewer, maintaining a warm smile. He would then gently pull out the chair, taking his seat. “Hello,” Kuro said, still maintaining a warm smile, yet he seemed prepared, confident, he was ready for this like he was made for this; he would take a deep breath. “My name is Kuro Watanabe, and it is very nice to meet you,” letting out a long sigh, shifting his weight in the seat. He seemed more comfortable after letting that out.

Age (Minimum is 27):

Keeping his smile up as before, he would shift his torso forward about two inches toward the desk. Keeping his spine straight and shoulders dropped, he seemed relaxed and comfortable by now. Looking into the interviewer's eyes, he would calmly say, “I’m 39, not old enough to grow gray hair, but sure feels like it.” Kuro lets out a chuckle before shortly ending it with a warm, genuine smile. “On a serious note. I hope that’s no problem. My age reflects my experience and how long I've been doing this. He would take a pause, his smile slowly fading into a more serious look. “I can assure you that I’m well fit for this position”

Nationality:

Kuro lifts his right hand just above the table line to chest level. He makes a gentle open-palm gesture toward the right side of his body. “I was born here in Japan,” he brought his right hand back down, and lifted his left hand to chest level, making the same open-palm gesture toward the left side of his body. “But I was raised in America,” He would pause, losing eye contact before meeting his gaze once more. “So, I’m Japanese and American, I would say”

Preferred Subject:

Kuro's smile seemed to brighten at the question, “Economics is my preferred subject, and I've been studying it all my life, basically.” He would let out a light chuckle, maintaining the smile he had before.

Describe the character: How do they look and act? What makes them unique and different? What are their plans for the future? Optionally, what is their past?
What is their outlook on students and their co-workers?

Description

Description

Koru is 6 feet tall and weighs 165 pounds; he is average, like if you would always see him on the street but never pay him mind. His attire would always be something black or cool, or chill. He will never overdo it; he keeps it simple as if he gets his clothes from the local counter store. He has skin the color of deep basalt. His eyes are piercing, almond-shaped, and deep amber. Giving him a gaze that feels intensely observant. Kuro would always maintain great posture, with his black hair neatly parted to the side. Kuro doesn’t waste words. He only speaks when teaching or being spoken to unless he has a question, of course. When he does talk, his voice is low and steady. He doesn’t fidget or seem to use nervous gestures. He would usually be the person leaning against the wall, reading a book or observing the room. He is constantly ****yzing people, not to be rude, but to understand someone before even speaking to them. He is very emotionally intelligent. When others panic, Kuro seems to stay calm. He becomes more ready when things go wrong. He is private and selective. He is not the type to have large friend groups. He is polite but distant. In short, he acts like a man living to build his future; he is patient and unbothered by others' opinions.

Unique and Different

Kuro has this ‘static stillness,’ basically, no matter how chaotic someone or something is, he remains perfectly composed. His quiet is what draws people towards him. He says only what he needs to say because he doesn't like to talk much.

Plans for the future

Kuro isn’t chasing much. He wants to help kids think about the future and know how to be ready for it, as he did. He is just a man trying to build up some money. He honestly doesn’t think about much else other than his future. He wants to build everything as soon as he can, so when he is set and done, he wants to have kids, move to the penthouses, and live a happy life.

Outlook on students and co-workers

Kuro's outlook on students is nothing more than that of students, of course; he respects them. Unless they respect him, he doesn’t like students who don’t want to learn. But he was once a student, so he is very understanding when it comes to kids being kids. He will always make it clear that he is older than the students and deserves the respect he gives. Kuro's outlook on his co-workers is simple. He honestly wants to get to know all of them. Yes, he is quiet, but he loves other people who came into the same field as he did. It makes him excited and hyped to find out why they chose it.

What is their motivation for becoming a professor?:

After sitting there for a while, he just answered question after question. His expression seemed to change to a more serious, determined one, as if this question meant more than the other. He would lean back and forth just an inch, hands folded on the table, keeping eye contact with the interviewer, making sure they felt what he was saying. “Well, I loved the thought of being a professor ever since I was in college; my economics professor was always there for me during breakups and financial problems caused by student loans. Times when I had no place to sleep, times when I needed someone to talk to, times when I needed money advice, he was there and made sure I was okay.” He would pause for a second, looking down at his folded hands before meeting the inviewer's gaze. “I want to be able to be there for these kids. I want them to look forward to learning economics. I want to be able to teach them something I love so much.” Unfolding his hands, he would gently slide them to his side, where he sat.

Roleplay Scenarios

A jock is ignoring your lesson and throwing paper balls at another student. What would your character do?

Kuro leaned forward slightly, resting his forearms on the table and interlacing his fingers once again. His face remained calm, and he locked his gaze on the interviewer with a professional look. "I would start by following the procedure and letting them know that throwing paper balls at another student in the middle of the class goes against the rules, which is more than obvious, but as a professor, I'm still required to enforce school rules when need be” Kuro uncrossed his arms and gesture with one hand, reason point “if they continue to ignore my warnings or downright refuse to comply. I'll move their seat to the back of the class or bring them to the front so they can no longer disrupt my class. If their behavior persists and it just gets out of control, I'll need to fully remove them from my class so that they no longer interrupt it."

A student doesn’t seem to understand the material, yet hasn’t requested help. What would your character do?

Kuro shifts in the chair, adjusting his posture to appear more professional. He offered a small nod as he listened to the question, "This truly depends on how fast I can pick up the fact that they don't understand said material. Every situation is different and has different outcomes. If the student was put on the spot and asked directly to answer a question about my class, and they do not understand, I'd be more than happy to go over the subject once more.” Kuro leaned back, crossing his legs and resting a hand on the table, tapping his finger rhythmically. “I’ll explain it in greater detail, or make it much simpler for them to learn. Even though many students are very vocal and honest nowadays, there are still some who don't exactly know their interests or are unaware of them. My job as a professor is to ensure that my educational material is explained correctly and understood by all, as many times as it would take."

When in the faculty lounge, how does your character act?

Kuro let out a light chuckle, relaxed his shoulders, and leaned back into the chair. Glancing towards the window for a moment before turning his attention back to the interviewer with a smile."I don't really see myself standing out much, given the fact that I'd be technically new here. I would say I am quite the social person, so it would be easy for me to get along with my colleagues, especially since we all have something in common to begin with. And that is our job, to ensure student safety and to help educate generations and generations of students of this school. It'd be either that, or just grabbing some snacks."

Provide at least 2 interactive class ideas and one field trip idea related to your subject.

Throughout the conversation, Kuro would give explanations with his hands, as if he could imagine and see them. With a smile, he would share 3 interactive class ideas and 1 field trip.

3 Interactive class ideas

1

“For the first interactive I think something simple like students gets into groups maybe groups of 2 or 3 depending how much people are in class but it will kind of be like shark tank students will work in a small group and invent a product or service and they have to pitch their idea to me and the class and we will all vote on who had the best pitch based off performance, the product or service their selling and also how they speak.”

He would pause for a little while, looking around the room as if he were thinking. After a few seconds, he would meet the interviewer's gaze.

2
“Another one I was thinking of was a role-play market where the students act as buyers and sellers. As the professor, I will provide them with various products and allow them to negotiate prices to simulate supply and demand dynamics. Some students will be buyers; some will be sellers. For example, if they were buying a used car for 6k and then bringing it down to 4k, or even if the seller brings it up to 8k.

3
“One more thing I want to do is assign groups different economic issues to research, such as inflation, unemployment, or trade policies. They will present their Issues to the class, explain what they are, and outline the different ways we can fix them. That one is not much moving around or thinking it’s more research, but I feel as though the kids could learn a lot from that lesson.”

Field Trip
Kuro would swiftly scoot up on the chair, trying to reposition himself so he could be more comfortable. As he heard the question about the field trip, his eyes lit up as if he had been waiting for this. With a monotone voice, he would calmly say, “I would love to do a field trip to the business park/ shopping district. I say this because that’s where all the jobs are, that’s how kids make money, and it’s great to know something, but to learn it from someone who owns a shop means much more.” He would pause for a few seconds with a warm smile appearing on his face. “We could visit some shops in town and learn about them, learn about why they price it that way, how much they have to make to keep the place running. How much do their advertisements actually affect business? It’s simple, but it would be fun to learn these things because maybe one day one of my students wants to own their own shop; they won’t have to do much research since they know everything about it and have seen and heard about it.”
