Why are Teachers so important to SchoolRP?:
First and Foremost, without teachers on the server, the school simply wouldn't be able to run. They are one of the more crucial roles on SchoolRP which is why I think it is so important we have more of them!
Teachers host classes for all the highschool students to attend and learn. They provide the necesarry preperation for the highschool students to attend the exams and move up into college.
They also provide a multitude of interactions, giving newer players a good chance to learn how interacting and roleplaying works in an envioriment where it is still okay to make mistakes. They are surrounded by more experienced roleplayers who can guide them.
Teachers also provide guidance for students who seek other interactions. they can help students find their way to councilors, the nurses, etc.
Teachers are also there to come between any conflict between students, punishing when necessary and helping students understand why certain actions are bad.
In short: teachers give students an oppurtunity to grow both as a person and in knowledge.
Do you acknowledge that if you are inactive you may lose your role?: Yes
Do you agree to undergo teacher training if your application is successful?: Yes

What's your character's full name?: Peter Thompson
What is your character's nationality?: American. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY
What is your preferred subject to teach?: Physical Education
Describe your character:
Peter is a 39-year old white male with a height of 6'5 (or 195cm) and weighs 102 kilos. Despite his size and build, he's more muscular than one might think. He has dark brown eyes with faint eyebags permanently visible underneath. Peter has thick eyebrows, a long, wide nose and thin lips surrounded by a faint 5 o'clock shadow from forgetting to shave...at least that's what he'd tell you. In reality he couldn't be bothered to shave every single day and sometimes just lets it peak through until he deems it too messy. His chestnut brown hair is combed to the side to keep it out of his face. It's nothing fancy, but he likes it enough to have worn it that way for the past twenty years.
Clothing wise, Peter is a very casually dressed type of guy. He usually wears his grey sweatpants, paired with a graphic tee that usually sports a design from one of his favourite shows or games.. he's quite the nerd. Overtop of his tee, he'll always wear a drawstring hoodie. You'd never catch him without one on. He claims it is the easiest and most comfortable piece of clothing known to man. For shoes, Peter will usually wear some off-brand sneakers for no other reason than.. they were the cheapest. He'll pair that with a pair of white or black socks. Never grey!
As for his personality, Peter is a very laid back type of guy. He gets along with everyone and is always the type to enjoy some smalltalk. He actively tries to avoid drama as he feels it 'ruins his flow' and he tends to get very stressed out when the people around him aren't all on good terms with each other. When asked, anyone would tell you he's the most fatherly type of guy you've ever met for a guy who doesn't have kids. He's got a very parental type of vibe towards anyone younger than himself, and of course he's got the typical dad jokes that many love, and even more despise.
When asked about his future, Peter is always very vague to hide the fact that he doesn't actually have any big plans laid out for himself. He's not the type of guy to set big goals or put himself under a lot of pressure when he doesn't need to. He'd reply with "I'll simply see what the universe has in store for me. For now I'll think about today and tomorrow"

A bit of backstory:
Peter is and always was an only child to a very poor couple, who quite frankly hadn't planned to have him. So as soon as he was born, his aunt adopted him by their request. Peter grew up comfortably and came to view his aunt as the closest thing he had to a mother, which he never saw any issues with. Being an only child, Peter spent a lot of time in front of the TV and playing video games which molded him into the nerd he is today. His favourite genre has always been super heroes and sci-fi, that's what most of his shirts are decorated with.
In his adolesence, Peter became more interested in going outside and being physically active. He tried a bunch of different sports including but not limited to: Running, Boxing, Parkour and tightrope-walking.. which is how he discovered his fear of heigts. It's safe to say he never tried that one again after his first encounter. Growing into the sport enthousiast he is today, he looked into the possibility of teaching sports in the highschool he himself attended. He worked there for a total of 7 years as a PE teacher before moving to Karakura on a whim for a change of scenery.
What is your character's outlook on students and co-workers?:
With students Peter is a very parental type of figure while also trying to come across as a professional educator. Tho he's always thought of PE as that one class with the 'chill' teacher, so he also tries to embody that. He'll always stand in front of his class with a smile and treat every student equally, as all teachers should. Even with troubled students, Peter tries his best to be that comfort person. If needed, he'll take them aside to offer them a listening ear or just to tell them they're doing a good job. His priority will always be the well-being of his students over their performance, and he feels that that's what makes him fit for the job. He doesn't mind offering up his own free time for students who might need some extra help with schoolwork, even if it's not for his subject.
Peter views his coworkers almost as a second family when he gets to know them well enough. He'll definetely call them by their first name if they allow him to and won't shy away from giving a shoulderpat or even a hug if he's in a good mood. He's a very helpful kind of person to the ones he really gets along with and will offer to help with almost anything, ranging from making some copies to helping them move. He'll ask his coworkers how their weekend was, how that family event went, how the kids are.. you get the point.
What is your character's motivation for teaching?:
Being glued to a screen his own entire childhood has left the adult Peter with a lot of regret. He often wishes he had gone out more, done more, explored more etc. So he made it his goal to inspire other young minds to find that passion earlier in life than he did in hopes they could find their spark early in life. And for those who don't want to persue sports, he wants to offer fun ways to spend their time anywhere but glued to a screen.. as a mentioned, a very dad-like type of guy.
Oocly, being a teacher also seems like such a great oppurtunity to get a lot of new interactions in and help newer players to find their place in SchoolRP while also providing something fun for the experienced players.

A student in class is struggling to understand the content, what would your character do?:
Peter turned his attention to the student after hearing they aren't quite sure how to tackle the game they'll be playing today (I'm going to use voleybal in this example) "Ah so I assume you haven't played before then? Let me show you, it's very easy" Peter would motion for the student to follow him as he walked them over to an empty voleybal field. "Alright so, as you can see, the field is devided into two parts. Each player will stand on their own side of the field, it doesn't really matter which side you pick. But for now, follow me to the right side over here so I can show you how it's done" He spoke in a soft tone and smiled as he steps onto the field and grabbed the ball. "So, here's the ball, obviously. Your goal in this game is to get the ball to hit the floor in your opponent's part of the field. To do so, you're going to hit the ball over the net that you see here in the middle.." He'd point to the net " and avoid hitting the ball outside the lines that border the field" He'd then point out all the lines, checking to make sure the student was still following. "The ball cannot touch the floor of your field. If the ball does hit the ground, your opponent wins a point." He took a moment to think if he missed anything " OH! and you have to get the ball over the net in three moves or less.. tho that rule is.. more for the offical games. this is just PE class so.. have fun with it!" He'd say, followed by a chuckle. "Alright i think that's everything.. how about we do a practive round? You versus me"
A student is continuously being disruptive in class, talking out of turn, and making jokes with classmates. What would your character do?:
First warning:
Peter would turn his attention to the disrupting student and cleared his throat "I'm sure that just like everyone else here, you're aware of the class rules. I suggest you follow them, alright? Alright. Now quiet down and let's continue.." He'd turn back to what he was doing before, but made sure to keep a watchful eye on the troublemaker.
Second warning:
Taking a deep breath, peter spoke again, this time his voice a little more commanding "I've already told you to be quiet. This is your last warning before being kicked out of my class and potentially earning yourself detention. So let's make this easy for both of us and turn our attention to the class, 'kay?"
Action:
Pinching the bridge of his nose, he'd let out a tired sigh "alright that's it. you're out of my class and have earned yourself a detention. Take this as a lesson to not be so disruptive next time.." After handing the detention slip to the student, he'd send them on their way before returning to the class. "where was i?"
(Since I haven't seen detentions being handed out in classes much I do want to state that im not completely sure if it would be justified here, if not, I would simply kick the student from my class and notify other faculty of their behavior over the radio)
Provide at least 2 interactive class ideas related to your preferred subject:
1: Class outing
I would take the class down to the city's gym and let them choose their activities freely, while still encouraging them to stay active. the gym has the parkour for example that the school doesn't have so i think it would be really fun for the students.
2: 123 piano
This is a game I used to play as a kid in PE class. One student is assigned to be the 'pianist' and goes to stand against a wall with their back turned to the rest of the group. The other students all line up next to each other at a distance away from the pianist and said wall. The pianist then yells "123 piano" during which, the other students move towards the wall without sprinting. after the pianist yells "123 piano" they turn around. When they do, no one is allowed to move. If the pianist catches you moving, you are sent back to the start. This goes on until someone reaches the wall. They then become the pianist for the next round, and so on.
