The Dark Web
The dark web is the World Wide Web content that exists on dark networks, overlay networks that use the Internet but require specific software, configurations or authorization to access. The dark web forms a small part of the deep web, the part of the Web not indexed by web search engines, although sometimes the term deep web is mistakenly used to refer specifically to the dark web.
The dark networks which constitute the dark web include small, friend-to-friend peer-to-peer networks, as well as large, popular networks like A.N.N., operated by public organizations and individuals. Users of the dark web refer to the regular web as Clearnet due to its unencrypted nature. A.N.N. is currently the only accessible area of the Dark Web to users of Karakura. According to reports, there is a rigorous "background check" which has the users weeded out, and only known gang members or allies of the managers of A.N.N. accepted. It is also very well encrypted, so local police have had no success thus far in infiltrating it's firewalls and sourcecodes. There are many scam dark web sites also present which end up giving tools for download that are infected with trojan horse or backdoor.
