The Gym Update

WHAT YOU WANT TO SUGGEST OR MENTION:
Introducing: The Gym Update. This updates adds the gym building (or school subsection!! i doubt EVERY space on the map/school is used), where students and adults alike can visit to work out with the newly available weight items and workout machines (both coming with mi****mes to determine the outcome of the workout). Optionally, the gym can cost money as a membership. Working out increases the new Strength attribute, which gradually allows (gives server permissions?) for higher rolls when in combat, similarly to how the acrobatics and speed attributes increase your jump height and speed, respectively. Another thing to mention is that the higher your strength attribute, the heavier weights and the higher level/weight machines you can use. The aforementioned mi****mes can synergize with this in a way where the higher your level, the easier the mi****mes become (differs per machine/weight level, of course) As an added bonus, the strength attribute can increase skill in sports (in basketball, the distance the ball can be thrown at, in football, the distance the ball can be kicked, etc.)

HOW WILL THIS BENEFIT THE SERVER/COMMUNITY?:
This can add a further element of surprise to fights where it would usually be equivalent chances of landing a hit. This can also add to each character's personality, as I'd assume more ripped characters will earn more respect from the general public. In addition to this, it will certainly add another element to sports, making them more grind-based and less click based. As a bonus, this adds another element to choosing sports teams, as well as a new hangout spot, increasing connectivity and friendship between students and adults alike.

edit: it appears a certain word is being censored. if you see a censored word, replace it in your head with "miniature games", shortened to "mini"

There's a Gym being built on the side of Club Luxe, but besides that I really don't think a strength attribute is needed

An attribute to increase rolling power would create too much of an imbalance in combat roleplay, to the point where it would be impossible to compete unless you spent weeks grinding it up first. Just imagine someone with the base 100 rolling power going up against a few people with 200: they'd have literally zero chance.

Not to mention, rolling power isn't necessarily meant to emulate raw strength, but combat ability; police officers receive professional combat training, which is why they are able to roll higher. It doesn't make much sense that lifting weights and exercising would directly correlate to your ability as a fighter.

If you want to roleplay out exercise, the school already has public gym for you to use, and as Hira said one will be made public (?) by the Luxe building soon.

An imbalance isn't what's going to happen. Realism is. When you enter combat, you should have some sort of strength or ability. Grinding it out is almost perfectly realistic, comparable to real-life almost perfectly, ALMOST, as skills and training also play a huge factor in deciding the outcome of a fight.

There could be more to it, you're right, skills and training don't directly translate to strength, but you should be able to see where I'm trying to go with this. It would make CombatRP more based on what you do on the server and less based on luck.

i cant find the goddamn words im looking for but please say you get me

-1, I do not see a point, they have a lot of attributes already.
Is there some sort of attribute limit? Besides, fishing and cooking are some of the most useless attributes on this earth, yet they're still there. It would add more to the server in my opinion, I see lots of points

It could get overpowered very quickly. If something like this existed, it should only increase your base roll slightly. I don’t really see the point but it is a cool idea. People who go to the gym tend to be better at fighting (especially when their workouts include punching a bag, boxing, etc) so I think the logic of rolls=skill level is still there as long as the buff you get for training isn’t too extreme. It shouldn’t give you the ability/means to K.O a police officer lmao. I do think the rolling system as it is works well, and I’d prefer if the staff focused their energy and scripts on something more impactful than another attribute. So, imma have to say -1

Thank you for your suggestion!

- An older part of the previous 'Luxe Club' is being converted into a public gym which may in future affect how quickly you gain attributes!
