Takanori Torii’s Biography

Short Backstory:
Born in Hokkaido, Torii lived with his family. His father; a working man handling cars. His mother; a businesswoman who earned good money. Lastly, his siblings; His sister, the second-born. She was born 2 years after Takanori, and the youngest sister followed suit. Being the eldest meant having more responsibilities, which translated to him learning to fix things, cook delicious meals, and more. Takanori had a lot of free time. He studied a lot, and had great academic performance. Takanori had shown interest in a few dead languages, one of them being Latin. Having the free time meant he could do whatever. A few years passed. At the ripe age of 13, Takanori knew Japanese, Latin and English perfectly. An academic powerhouse.

Takanori’s Relationships:
Takanori’s relationships are few. He doesn’t have many, and those that he befriended - He keeps at arm’s length. Thanks to that, he never developed something close with someone aside from a small few.
‘Anko Uguisu’ [Kyouko Mejiro] - Associate, Kyouko’s “Protégé”. Takanori is now minorly involved in ‘crime’. Kyouko takes him around, gathering intel with him. He’s changed since he met her, for the better.
Céline Solaire - Friend! A shy and timid girl that Takanori met after nearly falling on her, coughing blood on her.. Awkward. Takanori wants to do everything he can to make her feel comfortable, as she struggles with speaking due to stutters.
Evalise von Moltke - Motherly figure. Ever since Takanori appeared in Karakura, Evalise has been a motherly figure and has helped him with many things, including his condition.

Disease, Conditions, and Sicknesses:
Idiopathic Pulmonary Hemosiderosis -
Diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary hemosiderosis, a rare and poorly understood lung disease, he’s lived much of his life with quiet bleeding in his lungs. Every so often, the fragile vessels burst, filling his coughs with blood and leaving him weak for days. The condition can’t be cured, only managed, but he’s learned to live with it - the pain, the breathlessness, and the ever-present taste of iron that reminds him he’s still alive.
Anemia -
The constant bleeding in his lungs has left him chronically anemic. His body struggles to keep up with the blood he loses, leaving him pale, faint, and easily exhausted. Even on good days, there’s a dull heaviness to his movements - like his strength is always half a step behind his will.
Iron Deficiency -
Years of internal bleeding have stripped his body of iron, the very metal his blood depends on. It’s trapped within his lungs, locked away where it can’t be used. The result is a constant craving for breath and warmth, a body starved of color and energy, haunted by the quiet ache of deficiency.
