Describe your activity and roleplay experience on the server:

Im online practically every day, if I dont have plans that day I hop online at around 4:00 (PST) and go to the basketball practices or attend classes, pretty much attend whatever event or stuff that's happening throughout the day, I believe I joined during the summer of 2025, June 24th, I've stayed active consistently during my time on SRP, making tons of friends and joining things like the MAENG family and College Basketball! I have enjoyed my time on SchoolRP and plan to continue staying active and join more factions that could help my roleplay experience.

In your own words, why do you think professors are important to SchoolRP?
Professors play a role in teaching and extending the College program, helping students move from their Bachelor's degree to their Master's and finally to their PhD. Professors are the main source of knowledge for college students, and they are the only way college students can progress through degrees and eventually graduate to become adults!

In my personal opinion, the professor plays one of the most important and fun roles in SchoolRp, from getting access to fun and expressive classes to being able to host extremely fun field trips to wherever it may be relevant to the topic. SchoolRp could not function without them, I think both Teacher and Professor are the most relevant and important roles as a whole.

Do you acknowledge that if you are inactive, you may face demotion or removal from the faction?
I acknowledge that if I do not meet the activity requirement, I will face demotion or removal

Do you understand if your application is accepted, you may have to undergo professor training?:
I understand and acknowledge that if my application is accepted, I will go through the professor training

In-Character Information

What's your character's full name?
Age (Minimum is 27):
39 years old

Nationality: Korean

Preferred Subject: Social Science | Psychology

Describe the character: How do they look and act? What makes them unique and different? What are their plans for the future? Optionally, what is their past?
Daeshim Maeng is a SUPER energetic and well-kept looking man, he has the iconic blue eyes with dark broody brown hair. What makes him unique is his uplifting mood when he is around.
He attempts to make
Everyone's day is just a bit better, which adds another factor in his personality, how he speaks; he speaks so fast sometimes that even he doesn't know what he is saying! Always yapping and yapping to anyone around, his kids, his students, even his boss! I mean, can ya blame him, who doesn't like talking!

Daeshim has a heartwarming past, living most of his life in Seoul, South Korea, working as a college professor at the local junior college. He worked there for around 11 years, ever since he was 27. At around 18, Daeshim met his wife, they adapted to each other very quickly, both visiting and meeting each other's families in Japan and other cities in Korea. Then at 21 him and his wife had triplets, and another daughter a year later. After this huge memento, he spent most of his time teaching and raising his kids with his wife. They lived there for years. However, later in life when he was 38, his wife passed away from a sudden heart attack. After this horrid tragedy that left Daeshim alone with his four kids, the Maengs packed their things and moved to Karakura to reconnect with their family. They had already lived there years prior so he asked them to show him and his family around so they could get accustomed to the area. Daeshim was shattered and lost; he lost what he loved and needed something else to look forward to, so he decided he wanted to set himself a new goal. A goal to help others in need and to spread joy across Karakura to uplift the people around him.

Moving to Karakura was a big change for Daeshim and his kids, with a new language, new people, and even a new school; they had a lot to learn, thankfully, they all had the help of their family! Daeshim had a lot to think about, with the new setting and the new situation he was in, he had to make a plan for the future, so he decided to settle down at Karakura High, starting up the classes and continuing the lectures he had once taught before, but at a bigger, better audience!

What is their outlook on students and their co-workers?
Daeshim focuses on making sure he gives everyone respect, whether they are a grade 7 or college student getting their PHD; he tries to give everyone the respect they deserve. The Maeng pushes himself to help anyone with anything they ask him to, as long as its not harming someone else, he wants to help! Daeshim views all of his students as the future of society and the people who would be next up in life, so he tries his best to share the wisdom he has gained over the years to hopefully help someone who may need to hear it.

Daeshim also treats his co-workers with respect, often asking them how they are and if they need any help with certain things. Other than that, Daeshim doesn't pay that much attention to his fellow colleagues; he trusts that if they do their job he will succeed in his as well.

What is their motivation for becoming a professor?:
Daeshim wanted a fresh start and a new, consistent, well-paying job that would help him succeed in Karakura and spread kindness to the people in this town. After seeing how his kids are almost in college, he figured he would give teaching another shot! He taught back in Seoul, South Korea from when he was 27 to 38, he had the skills and the intellect to apply, so he wanted to try his best. He enjoys making his classes fun yet still teaching students a lesson in the process. One goal of his as a professor is to watch a student progress during the year, from completely not understanding a subject to being able to answer any question you asked them!

Another thing that motivated Daeshim was the ability to teach the future of society, whether they become the mayor or a professor like himself, Daeshim loves playing a part in hundreds of students he meets! He also enjoys meeting the unique personalities he gets to see on the daily, from the quiet book nerds, big loud, troublesome jocks, or smart kids trying to have fun! Daeshim gets motivated to host more and more classes every day because of those feelings

Roleplay Scenarios

A jock is ignoring your lesson and throwing paper balls at another student, what would your character do?

Daeshim immediately stops what he is doing and intervenes in the situation
"Hey HEY, stop that!!"
The jock immediately dropped his head, as if he was acting like that didn't happen
Daeshim would come up close and pick up the paper balls
"Don't do that! Bullying is against the rules, now sit at the front and pay attention!!"
Daeshim guides the jock to an open seat in the front and continues back to his lesson, after class he calls the jock to speak to him
"If I see you bullying another student again, its detention, alright! Now remember that."
Daeshim guides the jock out of the classroom and reminds the councillors to keep a closer eye on him, bringing up the bullying situation that happened in class.

A student doesn’t seem to understand the material, yet hasn’t requested help, what would your character do?
Daeshim would step aside after giving a certain task or question and whisper to the student if he needed any help with the assignment.
"Do you understand the subject, do ya need any help on some problems?"
The student shook his head and asked some questions for guidance. Daeshim whispers some answers and tells him to not to be afraid to ask questions
"Questions are proof that you are attempting to understand the subject; it only says that you are engaged in the lesson, do not be embarrassed to ask!"
Daeshim, after continuing the lecture, would look out for the specific student and anyone else who may not be engaged, asking the class questions and calling on students who may need a helping hand, guiding them through the lesson.

When in the faculty lounge, how does your character act?
Daeshim would pretty much be the opposite of social anxiety; he would always be talking to his fellow colleagues, whether it's about a class he hosted or the weather! Daeshim would always be talking; he would even cut people off while they are talking, causing some issues with other faculty members as he rambles on. Daeshim loves to meet new people and spread joy and energy across the town, from the faculty lounge to the class, he would always be in a good mood!

Daeshim tries his best to be thoughtful and forgiving to others, even if they insult him or someone he cares about; he tries to focus on what is right rather than what he may want to do. Daeshim wants to be the professor, father, and adult people admire, so in the future, students may grow up to be like him, helpful and charming.

Provide at least 2 interactive class ideas and one field trip idea related to your subject

Interactive Class idea #1

Daeshim would ask the students to group up into pairs of two or three. Once groups are selected and prepared, he would assign each group an emotion, which they had to act out and present why humans feel this emotion, and what the pros and cons are of this emotion. From greed to anger, each student will be given time to prepare their act and speech that they give to the rest of the class. In the end each group will rate every presentation, and the winner gets stickers!
This assignment helps teach all students the true effects of an emotion and why the human body presents them at times. This is also a fun way to prepare their presentation skills for future projects they may have to work on!

Interactive Class idea #2

Each student will gather around a table and will all be given a turn for this game. The idea of this topic would be decision-making; every student will be given a choice of three cups to pick from. Every cup has a specific prize under the cup; each cup has a specific design on it. One looked super fancy with artwork and grip handles on the sides, another one had a small design on the side with a lid to put on top of it, and finally, the last cup was plain and white. The prizes were put under the cups randomly, but the type of cup each student picked would be counted and written down. In the end, we will count which cups were picked and why they selected that specific cup. This cup assignment teaches the students about being on the spot while making a decision. It also teaches them a specific life lesson, its not about what's on the outside that counts, its what is in the inside that really matters!

Field Trip

Daeshim gathers all of his students and heads to the Karakura stadium & convention center, visiting the basketball arena, after a quick tour of the place, Daeshim provides some examples on how sports, like basketball, can be very emotional and affect some mental factors like confidence, anxiety, and even mental health. Which all of the above can greatly affect an athlete's performance. Once the quick lecture is complete, Daeshim instructs the students to play quick competitive games of basketball to gain firsthand experience of these feelings. This field trip is a fun way to show students the emotional effect that can alter how they perform or act while doing a physical sport!

Final Notes

This was the most I've written for an application so far, I'm actually kind of happy on how it turned out, thank you for the opportunity to apply!
