[ General Appearance ]
[ Appearance ]
Torisu is a tall guy, standing at around 5,10ft tall. He has a slim, but somewhat athletic build, with a weight of around 145lbs. He has a smooth, youthful face, with a minimal amount of freckles dotting his cheeks, and rounded, hazel coloured eyes. Around his left eye, is a gnarly crimson scar, that contrasts deeply with his otherwise friendly and inviting appearance. He has honey blonde coloured hair, that is incredibly unkempt and wavy, as if he's in a permanent state of just getting out of bed.
[ Personality ]
Torisu is an extroverted, enthusiastic man who always enjoys being around people. He is friendly, and easy going, being tolerant of most people around him. Despite this though, Torisu is rather awkward, as he frequently stumbles or stutters when talking to others. This, combined with his extroverted nature, often leads to awkward, albeit amusing moments when he talks to others. Cal is also somewhat scatter brained, prone to easily being distracted by the world around him. Torisu has a very quippy, and somewhat dry sense of humour.
Whilst Torisu appears to be awkward, though endearing, he is not without his faults. Torisu is incredibly loyal and trusting, to the point of gullibility. He always sees the benefit of the doubt within people, and this often leads to him being manipulated by enemies. Torisu also suffers from an unbearable hero complex, always putting others before himself, even to the point where it is a detriment to his own health. He has almost gotten himself killed on multiple occasions due to this. This is due to many deep seated insecurities that he isn't good enough. So he does this as a way of attempting to gain validation from people. This has changed in recent times though, as due to all the trauma and pain he has gone through, he has become a lot more jaded and nihilistic about the world. He is less willing to put himself in harm's way to help someone out, and doesn't particularly care about validation from people, as, the way he sees it, he doesn't need validation from people who half the time will turn on him.
[ Character Voice ]
Torisu's voice can be described as fairly mellow and quiet. It sounds calm, but inviting, as if to say, "It's okay, I'm here." This often leads to him being ignored in group settings though, as his voice isn't all that commanding.
[ Equipment ]
He has a small, blue backpack with a raven symbol on it. In it, you'll find a bunch of sketchbooks, a collection of pencils, both coloured and gray, as well as a variety of pens. He also has a diary, where he writes short stories and other creative things.
[ Clothes ]
Torisu's clothes vary, but his main style usually is fairly soft, with basic sweaters, hoodies and sweatpants being a thing he usually wears. One thing you will never see him without though is a crimson scarf, one that his mother gave to him before he died. It is slightly tattered and worn with age, but still fairly visually striking.
[ Hobbies ]
Art, writing and occasionally music (mainly singing and writing song lyrics. He doesn't know how to play an instrument.)
[ Mental Disorders ]
Anxiety
Depression
ADD
PTSD
[ Skills ]
Not so much a skill, rather than a trait. Torisu is incredibly creative and intuitive, able to think outside the box. This has helped him out in a variety of situations.

[ Backstory ]
Torisu was born in a small town in Japan named Kokoshibo in Hokkaido, Japan. His father was a notorious gang lord in said town, and was incredibly feared amongst even his closest of friends, including his dear old wife. Torisu's mother was American, with beautiful blonde hair and green eyes. She, in deep contrast, was a sweet, gentle and kind woman, who was incredible tolerant. Needless to say though, thanks to his ruthless father, Tori's early childhood was hell on earth, filled with abuse, neglect and mismanagement from his dad. His mother though, was a light for him in this dark time, and taught him that even if everything in the world seemed like it was falling down, that he should keep hold of the small joys in life. Everything was to change though. One night, when Torisu was five years old, his father came home in a drunken state. Drunk, and enraged at his family, he grabbed a kitchen knife, and approached both his wife and son, attempting to kill them. Tori's mother locked them in a room, and called the police. She knew all too well that the door was going to collapse soon, and so, hid Torisu in a closet, and gave him her red scarf, telling him that even when she's gone, she'll still be with him through that. Then, the door broke down, and Torisu had to watch as his mother got stabbed to death, all the way from the agonizing screams to the lifeless gurgles as the breath left her body. Before Torisu could be next on the chopping block though, the police came, and arrested his father, who got life in prison without parole.
Torisu after that lived with his grandparents, who raised him normally enough to where he had a somewhat normal childhood. He went to school, and made two friends in the form of Kageniki Todashi and Yoji Yojiyuda. The three were inseparable, and would've all died for each other. However, this wasn't to last, as at age thirteen, Tori and his grandparents began getting strange letters and phone calls. These were usually vague threats, saying things like, "You will die for what you have done." Determining that this was from the gang that Tori's father once led, and that they were angry that their leader was in prison because of Tori and his mother, they decided that they needed to move, and so, Tori was forced to say goodbye to his two best friends since age six, as he and his family moved to Karakura.
When at Karakura, Torisu's trauma didn't end, as despite making new friends, and even gaining love in the form of a girl named Seraphine Arcane, Torisu ended up getting dragged into a lot of traumatic events over the years, events that would slowly break him down to his core. His dad broke out of prison and tried to kill him, leaving him with his scar in the process, he failed to stop someone from committing suicide twice, he was hunted down by several gangs for standing up to them and their evil nature, and his friends were constantly in danger due this. Eventually though, Torisu returned to his hometown of Kokoshibo. The fact that his father's old gang was still running, and was still terrorizing people for their own profits bothered him, and he lost sleep over it. He decided that enough was enough, and that they needed to be stopped, and so, he did. Through a tough chess-like battle with the new gang leader, he and his friends Niki and Yoji managed to defeat the gang that had terrorized his hometown for so long, and get them in police custody, though, not before his childhood best friend, Yoji, was killed. After this, he returned back to Karakura, now jaded and broken down from all the experiences he had up to this point. He stayed there for a little while longer, but the straw that broke the camels back came when his former best friend, Xeno, betrayed him, beat him up and left him to die. When he recovered, he said that enough was enough, and moved out of Karakura, leaving all his friends, and his wife, Seraphine, behind. He moved to the US, where he lived a peaceful life, finally.
However, that peace was disturbed, as one day in the mail he got a letter, a letter claiming to know a secret about his mother that he didn't know about, and that he should come back down to Karakura if he wants to find out what that is. Hesitant at first, Torisu's curiosity eventually takes over, and he books a plane ticket back to the town that had caused him so much hell over the last few years...
