What is your motivation to apply for reporter?:
I really enjoy writing OOCLY and have been writing creatively for around 11-12 years, so joining a faction that is primarily based around that topic is my main motivator because it gives me a chance to lean more into what I find the most fun!!! That and the chance to bring my own take on reports and topics that I personally love, to share it with other players on SRP and also characters ICLY - obviously this ties into the fac that I'd be able to provide for the community and give them something to read (and do, if I can make quizzes one day taha). Not to mention, I've roleplayed with a few people from within the faction and it's always been great fun and it's brought me closer to the idea of dedicating more of my time to writing FOR people in srp instead of in private detailrps.
The smaller motivator is the fact that I have quite a few friends within the faction. Whilst this isn't a major thing, it just makes applying less intimidating and the idea of getting into such an exciting faction all the more exhilarating! ヽ(>∀<☆)ノ
Do you have any experience with writing? What is your relationship with writing?:
My main experience with writing comes forth based on the different types of roleplay I've been doing over the course of my life. Majority of the writing I've done is literate or story-telling based. I started out on online forums which required a decent amount of writing for various different things; this included character descriptions, lists and descriptions for items that were involved in the roleplay, and writing out detailed interpretations of locations. This was all put together, in a sense, for world building. I've roleplayed on various different websites and games, which all included writing in a thorough manner or detailing out of character factors to assist on putting out information and also world building.
Writing holds a near and dear place to my heart and to have the opportunity to give something back to the community that consistently helps shape my writing for the better is something I wouldn't want to miss!
Are you aware of - and will follow - the set of rules provided to you?:
Yes
Why should we accept you over others?:
I think I should be accepted because I'm very passionate about the things I enjoy and put my mind to - which would be directed to the reporter faction, should I get accepted into it! I put a lot of care, time and effort into the things that I do and my enthusiasm would be evident through the reports I will (hopefully) be writing in the future. I also feel I can offer an insight to fun and informational topics that haven't been spoken about as often or at all.
Do you understand you have to stay completely neutral with all reports? (Your report can't have any OOC or IC bias towards a specific group.)
Yes, I understand!
Do you trust that you will be able to stay active and complete the monthly quota?:
Yes! ^^
Summarize what you imagine work as a reporter is:
I imagine work as a reporter involves a lot of communication, both to fellow colleagues and also to the general Karakura public - in regards to interviews and planning outings to get to scenes at the right time. This also goes hand in hand with speaking with individuals should they have a story that they want to get out, so long as it all is within the rules of the faction and the server itself. Also, working as a reporter provides the opportunity to offer things to the community in a creative way, via writing and also in a non-biased setting. So this gives everybody a chance to read about fun topics without the concern of somebody writing it being wired to pawn for one side as opposed the other.
Then, of course, there's the work within the station itself when you aren't in your office writing up the fun reports. Daily broadcasts to inform people on-the-go about the weather and give a random fact and song choice (or game choice). Then there's sitting at the front desk to offer a conversation or answer questions for people who come in there searching for such a thing. And to sell the newspapers! It wouldn't be a news station without the selling of newspapers, after all.

Did you know that most flowers you see in your day-to-day life have other uses that don't include sitting there and looking pretty? And yes this includes the flora that resides in our lovely and totally not crime ridden Karakura! It's hard to give an exact estimate on how often natural medicinal options are used, but it is safe to say that it's growing in popularity thanks to influences from different cultures and curiosity from people alike, and we will get into just a few flowers in our town that could, potentially, save your life one day!
Or not... We have doctors for that, anyway.
To begin, we have a flower that is, unfortunately, toxic to a small portion of Karakura's population - cats! And the flower itself is the Lily of The Valley. Not only is this flower agelessly beautiful, but its roots and white petals are used to make medicine pertaining, primarily, to heart conditions. However, it can be made to treat other illnesses such as: kidney stones, epilepsy, paralysis and conjunctivitis (eye infections). How cool is that! Next time you take a walk, take a moment to recall how this gorgeous result of nature could save a life one day. Maybe even yours!
Please keep in mind when reading, however, that although these are natural medicine options, they are still best practiced with a medical professional! Dosage comes into play often and the world wide web isn't the safest friend to have when searching. Believe me. I know.
From aiding with inflammation, stomach and liver issues, diabetes and anemia - the next plant we are covering is nothing short of the earth's real-life, aaaall natural superhero. The dandelion. Though plagued as a weed and dignified in looks, its use in medicine is valued and nothing short of magical, especially when its petals can quite literally heal your body the same way some paracetamol and a good night's sleep can do. Please don't test that theory... Something safe and fun that you can take away from this is that dandelions are also used to make honey. So this one in particular not only promotes gut health and positive blood sugar levels, but it can also be used to create a substitute for real honey. Pick some on your next time out and get to cooking!
Another humble flower, white in stature, and often immensely overlooked due to how often it's found and perceived, is the common daisy. Also known as the bellis perennis, it's found to be one of the most useful herbs we have. Daisies are a natural remedy for wounds, the common cold, coughs, and they actually contain nearly as much vitamin C as lemons!
It seems these flowers are also perfect to eat, as daisies can be brewed into a tea! Yummy!
There are many medicinal herbs all around the world and these are some of the very few we have been blessed with here in Karakura. If there's a flower or plant you would like covered in a follow up, then give the hot-line a call, don't be shy. You could save a life.

#2 - Interview. It's important to have well-rounded questions. Create your own interview with ten questions or more. And answer them yourself. flowers
A click could be heard as the tape recorder started recording.
[Kala Ose]
"We're on! Okay. . First, hiiii, it's lovely to meet you. My name's Kala Ose."
There was a little thunk as the recorder was set down.
"I'm going to be asking you questions about Karakura's flora and the tie to natural medicines! What's your name, honey?"
[Emiko Tachiki]
"I'm Emiko Tachiki! You can call me Emi, though. I adoooore flowers, oh em gee!!"
[Kala Ose]
"I'm lucky to have found somebody so passionate! Okay. . Okay."
A small disturbance to the silence, as the sound of paper unfolding was heard.
"Let's start easy! What is your favorite flower, Emiko?"
[Emiko Tachiki]
"I really like lilacs, but I think my favorite would have to be orange tulips!"
[Kala Ose]
"Orange tulips, yeah! Yeaaaah. . Those are gorgeous. They match your hair too, doll."
A pause.
"Why're those your favorite flower? If there's any reason, of course."
[Emiko Tachiki]
"Well, they match my hair, obvi! Plus, I'm totally into flower symbolism, and my book said that they symbolize enthusiasm and energy! It's what I try It's what I try to sort of.. Or How I live my life!"
[Kala Ose]
""Flower symbolism? Do you think flower symbolism plays a part when people pick and choose what their favorite flower is?"
[Emiko Tachiki]
"Sometimes, yes. I think some people pick their favourites because of how pretty the flower is, or if they like the name. I mean, I have a friend who is super into space, who likes moon daisies just 'cause it has 'moon' in it!"
[Kala Ose]
"Okay, okay. That makes senseee. Thank you, honey. Your favorite flower, though. . The orange tulips? Are they located here in Karakura?"
[Emiko Tachiki]
"Yup! There's a big patch of them not far from here."
[Kala Ose]
"Oh, really? Aaaah, I need to take a better look around here, huh?. . Anyways! Back tooo.. Flowers... And Karakura! What is the most common flower you see around here? Can be anythin', really!"
[Emiko Tachiki]
"There's a lottt of white tulips at plaza. Fied ones, too! But in the forest, I see a lot of daisies and.. dandelions."
[Kala Ose]
"Would you say that it's on par, then? Or that different parts of Karakura hold home to different types and amounts of flowers?"
[Emiko Tachiki]
"Different parts hold home to different types and amounts. Like, plaza has a lot of tulips, but the forest has a lot of daisies! And and, some parts of, just general Karakura, have a lot of blue orchids! Like, near the beach?"
[Kala Ose]
"Just wanted the confirmation. Gotcha. That makes perrfect sense!. . Uhhhm. I don't know how to transition this, buuut.. Are you aware of flowers having medicinal usages? If so, what do you know?"
[Emiko Tachiki]
"I didn't! I didn't know at all."
[Kala Ose]
"Oh, my goosshhh. Well, doll. Here. . "There are some flowers, even ones that you love and adore, that can help you in the same way that factory medicine can. Isn't that a treat?"
There was a pause.
"This next question might be a bit harder, then. But how do you think medicinal flowers would benefit you personally?"
[Emiko Tachiki]
"Well, I get sore throats a lot. Maybe there's a flower that can make some sort of tea to help soothe it?"
Another pause.
"Oo! Or, maybe there's one that alleviates anxiety?"
[Kala Ose]
"There are many herbs like that! Honey is also a natural remedy for sore throats. Tea may be better for anxiety, but I forgot the name of the herb. . It's everywhere, though!. . Staying on topic - do you think society would benefit more from knowing about flora-based medicine, or natural medicines in general?"
[Emiko Tachiki]
"Yeah, I do, especially in places where medicine is difficult to get for some people. Like, too expensive or just.. that there isn't any! Y'know? Plus, here.. people get hurt a lot, so I think just natural soothers for smaller things could help with there being less stress on the hospital, maybe?"
[Kala Ose]
"I suppose that answers my why question, then! Let's see. . If you see a specific flower that your former loved ones enjoy, how would you react? And would you tie any of the symbolisms you know, to that person?"
[Emiko Tachiki]
"I'd probably pick it and I know that's killing them! But, I'd.. press it, like, in a book? Dry it out, make a cute thing out of it. As a reminder, of them. Something I can carry around with me."
[Kala Ose]
"That's a really beautiful way to create memorabilia."
The sound of paper crunching was heard, as well as some shuffling as the tape recorder was lifted.
"Thank you so much for taking the time to talk to me today."
[Emiko Tachiki]
"Of course!"
The recording ended here.
