Trivia

What is your motivation for becoming a Professor?:

I'm currently a college student that aspires to get my PHD in the arts or education! My main goal is to be a professor (in real life), teaching Theatre, English, or Political Science. However, theatre is my favorite subject as I have an extensive knowledge of the subject and over 7 years of experience in the field! I also have experience in other aspects of theatre besides acting, such as stage management, directing, audition etiquette, set design, technical equipment and several musical aspects as well. You name it, I can make a lesson out of it. Basically, I genuinely enjoy teaching and want to spread the joy to others on this server! Most of all, students on this server can actually utilize what I teach them in real life! I will teach everything I know.

Do you have any experience in Roleplaying?:
I'm quite new to Roleplaying, but I enjoy acting a lot and I feel as though the two go hand in hand. From what I've seen, I enjoy the community a lot and appreciate the lack of judgement from other players. I also enjoy the feeling of being able to express myself without worry. The sense of community in the roleplaying server is also very rewarding!

What are the classroom logs and why is it important?:
Classroom logs are crucial for professors, as they are needed in order to cash in paychecks. They are also necessary in verifying your activity on the server and ensuring that you are doing your job as you should be! Basically, logging classes proves that you've earned your paycheck!

As a Professor, what are the strict rules when being in a class?:

- Students must be mature and have a respectful attitude towards others.

- Horseplay and/or bullying of any kind will not be tolerated.

- There will be no inappropriate language, immaturity, or distractions in class.

- Be courteous while others are talking. Talking about things that do not pertain to the lesson is unacceptable.

- Attendance is mandatory.

- Class must be taken seriously and everyone must give their full potential. Overall, use basic common sense and be respectful in class. I will report students that do not abide by the rules.

- Snacks and drinks are allowed in class so long as they are not loud and distracting (for example, crunchy bags of chips are not tolerated, but something quiet, such as a sandwich, is acceptable). I understand that college students lead a very busy life, and because of this I would like to make a classroom a safe space for all.

- Written work is very rare in my class because I grade based off of active participation and hands-on activities. Because of this, full participation is required in my class.

In regards to my duties, I must maintain a professional attitude and encourage students to learn in my class. I will provide strict and professional (yet fun) lessons for my students. I will ensure that my classes are interactive and that I grade my students according to the quality of their work/participation! I'll behave like an adult and actually get work done! The best part is that no two lessons will ever be the same! There is so much to learn in the field of theatre and I'm super excited to share the joy of the performing arts!

Summarize your previous RP experience's (both in general and on SchoolRP):
I haven't had much experience in other Roleplaying servers due to my own silly inhibitions, but I've recently decided to embrace the community and join this server! I've had lots of fun, and find it exhilarating to break from my shell and embrace the person I've always wanted to be. In real life, I'm obsessed with silly things like my appearance and what others think of me. When I roleplay in this server, I feel as though I can really be me, and embrace the parts of myself that I try so desperately to hide. I'm also sure to be accepting towards other people and roll with the storylines that are thrown at me! I love to act and this is just another way for me to do that!

College-Professor Knowledge
Please show your knowledge of College-Professors. What are the tasks a College-Professor has to complete, What is a College-Professor's salary?

College professors must meet a quota of at least 15 classes in order to claim their paycheck at the end of each month, though additional classes are also optional beyond that. Classes must be logged for proof that the professor is doing their job. ¥300,000 is the default salary for professors, though this varies depending on the amount of classes the professors hold. For each additional class a professor teaches beyond the first 15, an additional ¥50,000 is added to their paychecks! The classes must not be constantly repeated and should be strict, though fun, interactive, and rewarding!

Character Knowledge

Tell us everything you know about the character you will be playing in a few paragraphs. How does he/she look like? What makes him/her unique and different? What is his/her outlook on Students? What about the other teachers? What is his/her personality like? What is his/her plan for the future?
My character, Olivia Aspen, is quite young amongst the other professors, and quite beautiful. She has long brown hair and glowing hazel-green eyes. Her skin is fair and her cheeks are brushed with a red glow. Olivia has an average build, and stands 5'5" tall. She stands out from others because, while she is serious when she needs to be, she also finds the fun side to life and can easily make friends with her students. She also cares deeply for their education and overall future. Olivia focuses on the quality of her lessons and ensuring that her students are truly learning the subject instead of just getting an "easy A". In summary, she loves her students and views them as people instead of simple kids. Olivia hates teachers that give their students a hard time or deliberately make their students unhappy just for the sake of it. In contrast, she respects the educators who have a genuine passion for their field and truly inspire students! She also admires students who have a genuine connection with their students and wish to see them grow in their field!

Olivia is an energetic and passionate educator with a desire to see her students grow! She's always happy to help her students and welcomes them with open arms in and outside of school. She loves anything and everything pertaining to the performing arts (and she may not shut up about it!) Her plan for the future is to teach until her very last breath! Being a professor is all she's ever dreamed of since leaving the acting industry, and she has fulfilled her destiny in becoming one.

Scenarios

You find a group of sport-team members screaming and shouting in the halls, What do you do?
In a professional, yet stern tone, I'd remind them of the rules and advise that they respect them and quiet down. If the screaming persists, I will resort to reporting them to ensure that the rules are enforced and no one is exempt from facing the consequences that come with breaking them.

A College-Student is disturbing the class and won’t listen to a word you’re saying, What do you do?
I would take the student to the side and talk to them, person to person, to see what is going on with them. I would want to help ensure that their needs are being met, but that they are also respecting the other students and being mature. If this fails, I would have to resort to reporting them.

Provide at least 5 detailed /me's of your character inside a classroom:

/me welcomes students and encourages them to participate in various warm-up exercises.

/me watches her student's presentation, smiling wistfully, clearly impressed.

/me takes a moment to allow for students to contribute their ideas towards the lesson.

/me takes [student] to the side, offering her extra help due to her struggle in the class.

/me turns off the lights and leads a meditation circle to clear the mind from stage fright.

Backstory
Born in California on May 1st, 1991, Olivia Aspen had stardom and a passion for the arts in her genes. At a young age, she knew she was destined for something great, and her actress mother and musician father agreed. Olivia was never pretentious about her goals, and never stepped on anyone's toes to progress in her career.

It's no secret that Olivia Aspen dreamed of being a movie star ever since she was a little girl. By some string of fate, she actually achieved her goal - but it wasn't everything she had hoped and dreamed of. Despite training with the best professionals in the country since she was old enough to walk, there was something missing. Acting was something she loved to do, but finally achieving her goal at the ripe age of 20 left a bitter taste in her mouth.

It wasn't the art of acting that she fell out of love with - it was the industry. The harsh beauty standards and demanding nature of being a movie star was simply too toxic to handle. But all the years of experience that she had gained prior to achieving her childhood goal wasn't about to go to waste. There was still joy in acting, in theatre. Olivia knew that while the industry wasn't for her, she could help someone else achieve their dreams. Olivia wanted to take all her experiences, all the things she's learned, and spread the gift of knowledge with future generations. Besides having a love for what she does, she also loved seeing the joy that theatre brought out in others.

5 months after Olivia got her starring role in the blockbuster hit, she decided to pursue higher education, and set out to complete her bachelors and masters degree in Theatre. At the age of 28, she had already had 15 years of acting experience with industry professionals, one year of active work within the film industry, and a bachelors and masters degree in Theatre under her belt. With this, she hoped to leave the pressure of stardom behind her and indulge in the truth behind the art of theatre. In teaching at a community college, with a diverse group of passionate students, she hoped that she would keep the joy of theatre alive within her, and that that spark would never go out.

Olivia never married or had kids; theatre was practically her baby. Because of this, she treats her students like family, and seeks comfort in teaching. The hole that was left vacant by the harsh reality of the film industry was filled in her love for teaching and theatre's ability to make others happy.
