TRIVIA QUESTIONS What is the student council and what do they do?: The student council is in responsibility of speaking to the school administration on behalf of all students and expressing their concerns. (e.g. Interests, friends, etc.): My primary source of motivation is my pure boredom with high school. I wish to take on a role in the school faction that does not include working with employees. Since I didn't want to join a team, I'm applying to student council now. My experience in my time as student council member gives me more confidence in my application(OOCly). In addition to my feelings, I simply wish to be somewhere else in the school. Since I've worked as an employee and in most of the Adult Factions. but never within any factions at school. (Except employee) Are you aware that you’ll be having to use your creativity and teamwork ethic within the student council? (e.g. Coming up and helping with events): As a daydreamer, this is no problem for me. But yes, I do and excited to make some stuff with others. Can you list the roles in the council along with other roles that might be important to the council?: COUNCIL: Student Body President - The President's job is to mentor and oversee the other members of the Student Council Team. They are responsible for gathering student ideas and attempting to incorporate them into the curriculum. They must be capable of leading the group, inspiring others to take on new tasks, and having good time management and creative skills. They are also top of Students Body Vice President - Being the president's right hand man is the vice president's job, and their roles are complementary to one another. When the president is not present, they assume the role. In addition, the vice president is responsible for overseeing committees and assisting with the creation of meeting agendas. Summary of the Vice President's Duties Student body Secretary - The secretary's role is to record meetings andsignificant occasions so that they are remembered by the council while sitting behind the presidents. They save all data and typically make sure to take notes for instructors and other school personnel. Communication Officer - The communications officer's responsibility includes overseeing the student council's social media accounts. They are in charge of using flyers and films to spread the word about the student council's events and ideals. They run around communicating with Clubs and Sport Activities for the Student council, and is the main person who makes sure all communication is in order. Student body Treasurer - The treasurer's job is to monitor the council's budgets and financial activities. This entails seeking out appropriate funding sources and getting their advice on how best to allocate the funds. Other College Student Council SLT (Student Leadership Team) - In essence, SLT consists of the Principle, Vice-Principle, Dean, and Vice Dean. School Staff - Both SLT and Staff are important, as The student council speaks to them as the representation of the students opinions, concerns, and voices School Clubs & Sports - They are important because the Student Council helps them plan for Fundraising Events, Event planning for the Festival and Sports Festival. IC SECTION SCENARIOS While students gather for a school assembly, one student behaves disruptively, causing a disturbance. How would you manage the situation to restore order effectively while minimizing any additional disruptions to the assembly? Sumi would have looked for the disruption and examined the students' actions. She would politely ask the student to give her a moment before entering the assembly or escorting them away if another member hadn't already intervened. She would alert them and gently request that they correct their behavior in the assembly; if they do not comply, they will be kicked out from the event. Sumi would radio another council member to tell a teacher or any other staff member to get to her and the student if the student became aggressive/escalated the situation. A student refuses to take their mask off after you’ve brought up detention and they’ve run away! What do you do? She would offer detention or SLT if it was refused. As soon as the student decided to leave, she would immediately call other council students via the radio and involve an employee. running after the pupil until she was unable to do so or ran into theml. If she could not, she’d just ask an faculty member to slip the masked student an detention slip. A teacher observes concerning behavior from a student, including the creation of disturbing artwork and verbal threats toward peers. How would you collaborate with the teacher to evaluate the situation and intervene appropriately to address potential safety concerns? Together with the teacher, Sumi would assess the artwork. Sumi would suggest that the teacher have a conversation with the student initially, as there may be a more serious issue between the two that may be resolved more effectively than by creating art. If that doesn’t work. In an effort to communicate with the student on a student-to-student level and avoid reprimanding them, Sumi would try to find them alone or call for them. She would also try to explain that there are more appropriate methods to manage difficulties than via art. Informing them that if their behavior persists, they risk being sent to the SLT office. After the talk, if the student doesn't stop, Sumi will ask the teacher to put the artwork in a secure location and keep an eye on the behavior of the students while attempting to include SLT. She would only see this as evidence that potentially dangerous events can occur outside of schools or even within them. Her best course of action would be to attempt to halt the cause before it could worsen. A teacher/receptionist has told you that you are doing something that goes against what you were trained by your higher-ups. How would you react to this? Sumi would take notice of their remarks and inquire as to exactly what went wrong. Not that I'm angry or anything. She would discuss it with her superiors or with the guidelines and reconsider after receiving training. When she would finally figure it out if the teacher was incorrect. Sumi would correct them and commend them for trying to keep an eye on things. As the teacher was Just really doing their job If the instructor had been accurate, she would have thanked them, promised to do better the next time, and let it rest. (Must be 300 words or more for one event): The Student Council is organizing a sleepover After-School for School Employees and Students to have a good time. assembling the sleep over to be in the field outside the gym, because on that specific night. When the city is dark, the aurora lights happens! to assist in making the event much more enjoyable for everyone at the school, we may incorporate club activities like the photography club, food club, Open volleyball and pool, basically a big hangover but just at the school, open karaoke/talents, and possibly host an teacher appreciation. Everyone is having a great time .. However, the electricity abruptly cuts off. Staff members and the council become alert to the unexpected change. wondering what goes on in the school- a power outage? The school didn’t pay the electricity bill? Who knows. The paranormal began to occur in some parts of the schools. Abruptly, students and teachers vanished from sight. Things started to get a little... spooky. The Council would work with teachers to figure out what was going on as soon as possible, then take the students and eachother in small groups to look for a way out. They discovered they weren't the only ones there that night, while they were searching. Spirits or something, someone. began to wreak havoc while peers fled for their safety. As one party manages to get to the shrine, the council and others make every effort to find a way out. Locating the priests and devising a plan to get back to the school quickly as possible. Without any spirits or possibly.. yokai blocking their path. But Who knows what the Shrine priests would be up against.. nor the students and staff. Maybe multiple yokai, spirits or possibly an entity who hides in the darkest corners of Karakura? That’s just an idea though! What separates you from other applicants seeking your position?: “How do I stand out from the other applicants? Alright! I'm not entirely sure. Anyone who is passionate and committed enough, in my opinion, can join. But me? I have more! Greater creativity, greater passion, and—well, I'm kidding—I believe that what sets me apart from other student council applications is that, if approved, I become more than just a ‘student.’ ‘Council’ I'm just a student too, and can connect with other students just with that thought! I like to speak up a lot and am passionate about advocating for others. I draw people in with my warmth and humor, and I have a lot of ideas about how to improve not just the school but also the perception that students have of student council. “ Why do you want this position? & What interests you the most about student council?: “I made the decision to ask two queries at once. I want to help the school and be a part of the advancement, so I would like to join the student council! assembling with fellow students who share my mindset. I've noticed lately that not much happens on campus anymore—well, except from the whole lice problem, anyhow. I want students to be more enthusiastic about attending classes, creating their own school activities, coming up with club ideas, and being involved in the school community! Lastly, with a little persistence, to improve the interaction between students and SLT as well as other school staff. If the staff at the school assisted the student council more, it could work!” “Students will come to understand that school is not only a chore but rather a place where they must attend in order to succeed but, also being a teenager and introducing fun events during school hours, with our help!. However, the aspect of student council that most fascinates me is all of that. We are the ones that organize activities to assist students and instructors build positive student-teacher connections while creating a nice atmosphere on school property. We also keep the school running handle everything together. That gets me to this application. My biggest interest is to one day see the school in better shape than it is now or ever before.
