Update Logs and Improved Service

hi guys, wanted to give my input as some of other staff have as well. hopefully by being communicative, it’d shed light on how we staff members also feel about some of these issues.

currently, a major bug is happening with housing as stated in these posts. we as staff are just as frustrated with it as you are, and i’d like to remind you guys that our dev team is not very big at the moment which in turn slows development and bug fixing. these devs also have lives outside of SchoolRP, which while they have certain responsibilities they need to fulfill, life is life and sometimes things take time. i do agree that this bug is very major, and i hope to see it fixed soon! it is in fact being worked on and hopefully soon this will be put to rest.

i believe Lycheeru put it best as not all of us are developers and can fix these things, but I assure you with what the non-developer staff are doing are constantly looking out for potential solutions and helping in investigating the causes of these bugs so we can get things back to how they should be.

for the housing bug itself, we have been trying to answer the housing tickets we can (not all of us can do these requests as we do not have permission to), so we do our best to get it to who can. they are also trying their best to return properties and get things sorted, so i ask for your patience please while we do our best to assist everyone.

hopefully this post brings a bit of calm to the chaos that has been going on lately.

As FakeStuffOkay said, there doesn't seem to be much transparency.. there might be some but not much at all, and when you do try to say something about some of the issues (like the change to the Moriel Maeng wax statue) it gets ignored or not handled well at all, like last night when it was being spoke about in the chat, people were just ignored and shut down for speaking up about a change they didn't like. And i've not heard one good thing about most changes, i feel like some of the situations are not handled professionally sometimes, with most games when something is changed and then not liked by anyone, they make it better or change it back, but that doesn't seem to be the case at all from what i've seen. in my opinion i think if a change isn't liked.. It should be changed back.

And as for the house/apartment glitch. I get there is a low team of dev's trying to fix this problem, and it must not be easy, but it really would be nice if someone could announce that there is a possibility that they could lose their items/house, i feel like there would be way less angry players if something like this was announced.

The post office glitch, i didn't even know this was bugged to until i saw it said in here, so that is a example of why i feel like it should have been announced, i don't think many people that play the game will look in here to often, so i think they would appreciate it more if it was said on the server.

These points had already been made in the past few responses coordinated by the other Staff members. I had taken the time to respond to all of them and have tried to respond with as much leniency as I could. I was willing to admit to my own faults due to my knowledge being limited to an ordinary player, aswell as the fact I made the initial post in an emotional fit due to my friends constantly being upset, or outright saying they plan to quit. However, I had seen NO responses have any indication of owning up and taking responsibility for any lack of care towards the players' personal feelings. If you are solely going to defend yourselves, then at least have reason for us to BELIEVE IT. Proof that work IS getting done that can be seen and accessed by players is necessary. Your defenses are baseless, which is why I suggested UPDATE LOGS! We don't want to just hear that you're fixing it, we want to SEE that it is actively happening, and for there to be consistent communication so that players can know that there is a glitch, rather than experience it for themselves by the time it's too late.

AND!

As I said in my initial post, I don't merely want reasoning, nor excuses. I wrote that because I wanted a simple change– MORE transparency on WHAT you are fixing, changing, etc. Aswell as have more COMPASSION for the feelings of the players, as you had DIRECTLY dodged answering anything related to people's feelings regarding their custom items THEY COMISSIONED for. You have only mainly spoken about Housing, but no mention of your lack of Professionalism, nor any of my suggestions to expand your staff! This is poor service, deciding things on your own without asking the players who are affected themselves! YOU have the power to fix things, albeit at a limited pace due to low staff, devs, etc. It's REASONABLE to take more time on things because of that, which is why that is not the issue at hand here! That's not what I was saying at all! I was simply asking for REASSURANCE that you will be more CLEAR about things, or, as I SUGGESTED– which had NOTHING said about it in these responses– create an UPDATE LOG and provide service more COORDINATINGLY.

Could you please? I don't simply want REASONING for WHY it is like this, we've heard it again and again, after ALL.. we, as players, merely want you as our STAFF to show PROOF, EVIDENCE, ETC. to give us REASON to trust you after numerous events of unfairness that has brought some players to the decision that you are untrustworthy. It doesn't matter HOW small it is, you could simply start with DISCUSSING how to improve the service you are providing to us. PLEASE, don't just simply defend yourselves! And I apologize again if my tone came off as hostile, I'm simply trying to emphasize what we TRULY WANT... transparency and PROFESSIONALISM! Your responses had not acknowledged your past unprofessionalism and, in my opinion, respectfully, uncaring to your playerbase's needs!

That is ALL ..... I THINK!

Thank you for your suggestion!

- Some compensation in the form of Yen will be given to those that were affected by the housing bug.
- Unfortunately, not every bug is as easily fixed as another. Occasionally, we'll encounter bugs that we simply can't reproduce in a local environment, some of which have been sadly known to cause downtime; we simply can't test for scale on some of the plugins we make and some bugs aren't caused by players, they just simply happen due to a crash/bad shutdown/etc. It would be impossible and we'd be lying if we came up with some sort of way we're "fixing" a bug each time it occurs, as typically it takes a lot of trial and error to find what causes it in the first place.
- This being said, we do read bug reports and fix those that we can in order of importance. A patch for the housing issue was recently rolled out, and we're continuing to investigate the issue as its reported to us.
- An updates channel will be made for smaller updates that we typically don't announce. We're also working on more social media content, so you may see more sneak peeks and other information there too.
- As for the statue model, the model (as like many) was re-modelled to fit the style of the rest of the resource pack; as you may notice, other statues already in the resource pack match the new style of said model. We typically only re-model items for this reason, or if the file size is considered too large. As @6Pancake mentioned in their response, they're happy to be contacted about changing the model to be more accurate
