Sometimes, she will wear clothes akin to the 1950s-70s, which is also one of her favorite periods.
Date of Birth: 15 August, 2002
Place of Birth: Caen, Calvados, Lower Normandy, France
Nationality:
Race:
Sexual Orientation:
Bisexual (Female Preference)
Valencia is bisexual, but is strongly gynoromantic, mistaking her as a lesbian, even though she does call males "handsome", and does like more effeminate men.
Religious Beliefs:
Valencia is a devout Catholic, and sees God as a guiding force in her every day life. However, since there is no church in town, she would simply go to the park, and pray to God with her thanks and all. This bothers her, but not that much. She understands that Japan doesn't have that many Catholics, and respects this fact.
Her tolerance toward religion is a mix. While she does accept most other peoples beliefs, and leaves them be, she does not seem to be very fond of Protestantism, nor Orthodoxy that much, due to them being heretical religions of the church. She has a strong dislike with the Protestant practices, namely with Baptists, Puritans and Lutherans. She also sourly dislike anyone calling themselves just "Christian", and automatically assumes they are Protestant, as she thinks they could just say "Other Christian".
Her view on Paganism isn't as cold as one would really believe, and she is actually quite friendly toward them, even Jewish and even Islam, even though her mother is quite a staunch Islamophobe. Infact, other religions do make her curious, and she will usually compare them in a theological discussion or debate. She is quite respectful about other peoples religions, and doesn't try to openly persecute them, thinking the days of that is over, and that Catholicism is in it's Enlightenment stage, wanting to bring peace to the world. To some degree, she will not agree with the Pope, but Valencia will agree with him on most issues, and will openly go against anyone who says anything offensive about the Pope. This means, she is more accepting of Gays and Lesbians, and to some degree, abortion, but she does have serious doubts about abortion.
Valencia was baptised in the Church of Saint-Pierre.
Political Beliefs:
Classifying herself as a Liberal Conservative, Valencia has a strange view about political beliefs. She is a strong Bonapartist, believing the ideals of Napoleon Bonaparte. At the same time, she is not an opponent of homosexuality. She is a strong anti-abortionist, believing it is morally wrong to kill a child inside of a woman's stomach, even if she chooses to, although, she does have some sort of opening in her anti-abortion politics, if the two parties was non-consensual.
She is strongly against Communism and Fascism, believing they are one of the same, and promotes violence and instability. Her views on Monarchism is very mixed as well, as she approves of the Bonapartes ruling France once more, but any other monarch she loathes, especially the Bourbons. She has mixed views on the current Republic, and supports only a few aspects of it, but is still a staunch supporter of the French Revolution. She is a supporter of the death penalty, and thinks every country should have the guillotine for the most serious offenders and traitors.
General Appearance
Appearance:
A 5’1 girl, Valencia is short for her age, but seems to have make up for it with her slightly wider hip size and thigh size. As a result, she weighs a bit more than her average age at around 121lb. Valencia’s hair is cut down to her sides of her shoulders, and seems to follow the short haired bob style hair. She has violet eyes, and a face with atleast one small scar on her jaw, which she got from a hard scratch from a cat, but that since healed. Her breasts are a 36B, and has a type A+ blood type.
Personality:
Valencia is kind of an introvert when it comes to interaction, and is usually shy when it comes to meeting new people. However, she is overall friendly, and never usually shows hostile intent towards anyone unless provoked, which can be pretty hard to do. Given her kindness, she is a person who would make a fast friend with anyone that would approach her. She always has a positive outlook on life, and enjoys the company of other people. She usually prefers to speak her native language of French with people, and rarely, if someone is from Corsica, will be more interactive, especially if the person actually speaks the Corsican language, which is she one of the few who actually speak it as a first language.
Valencia defends her political beliefs, but doesn’t outright lash at people about it, usually keeping it to herself, and simply just respectfully disagreeing with them. She isn’t a huge fan of discussing politics, and would rather talk about the history that is behind her beliefs. She is someone who enjoys historical discussion, and will happily discuss it with people, and will try to the best of her ability try and provide facts and details, but admits that she may not get all of the answers right, and learn from others. She doesn’t seem to only enjoy the 19th and 18th century, but also seems to enjoy the history of the Antiquity, Bronze Age and the Neolithic cultures of humanity.
Other than history and social studies, she is a fan of literature, and enjoys poetry, and drama. Although she is an introvert, she doesn’t have stage fright, and is a completely different person when on stage, really getting into her character sometimes. Valencia is a lover of board games, and seems to enjoy playing them a bunch. She also seems to enjoy playing video games, but doesn’t seem interested in the interactive social games, nor visual novels, but more or less, a strategy gamer, a city builder gamer, and seems to prefer those types of things.
Valencia is a very curious person, and loves meeting people from different countries. She usually describes her curiosity as that of an American, and loves all different types of cultures and peoples, even Americans and Canadians. This type of openness opts out any sort of ideals that Valencia may be a racist, since she seems to share a strong distaste for migrants who are in France, and usually rants about them quite often. But otherwise, she's acceptable to all races.
Diseases/Illness:
None.
Character Voice:
Valencia’s accent is kind of confusing to someone at first when they speak to her. The way she speaks Japanese sounds like an Italian accent trying to speak French. Despite her accent sounding strange, she seems to speak Japanese very clearly. Her English however, is slightly off, and sounds strange as a result. But otherwise, she is very comprehensible, thanks to her father.
She would have Chika Fujiwara's voice from Love is War.
Equipment:
Valencia usually carries around a canvas purse that seems to also be a bag of some sort. Inside, there is a few cosmetics as well as a few things such as business cards she collects and cards. She also has some playing cards. In her bag for whatever reason.
Clothes:
Valencia appears to dress variously in her appearances. She usually will dress in her school outfit, which appears to compose of a blue shirt, and a skirt. Though, in her casual appearance, she appears to dress rather conservatively, not a big fan of showing her stomach, but will wear skirts. She also tends to wear fancy dresses on her, some of them being older than she is.
Sometimes, she is seen in a very old 19th century uniform that she got as a gift from her grandfather, of some kind of French officer uniform, and a few other old 19th century styled uniforms, but seems to only wear them sometimes, but never all the time. This is usually seen when she’s at home.
Recently, she seems to be wearing her Student Council outfit when on school grounds, and still seems to have the band even if she's off campus.
Hobbies:
Valencia seems to be an avid board game player, and collector, as well as collecting figurines, banners, and flags. She enjoys playing card games as well, and usually plays by herself as well when not playing with others to figure out what strategies and logistics she can use to beat her opponents. Even the most basic games such as Uno, Sorry! and Snake and Ladders, she will break down and even record moves, studying them more. She also seems to be interested in games like Dungeons and Dragons.
Valencia also seems to be interested in writing stories. Even though she doesn’t personally believe they are good, she still tries anyways. She is a person who also seems interested in poetry, though writing it, she doesn’t seem so good at, though tries to get better.
She also seems to be in to disco, and believes that disco is not dead, and usually does not like it when people sham her for such. She enjoys the culture and wonders of the 1950s-1980s when she studied the period of the culture, and tries her best at some sort of revival of disco somehow, even having disco records.
Serious Problems/Flaws/Addictions/Disorders/Disabilities:
The biggest problem with Valencia is that she has a minor case of schizophrenia, and can sometimes hear voices in her head, though, they do not really seem to be negative, but rather, uses her schizophrenia as a coping method to her social anxiety, and is sometimes seen talking to herself, as if she is communicating with the voices in her head with imaginary friends she makes up, often from her stories that she writes. This can at times make her stressed out whenever people hear what she has to say when she talks to herself. These voices usually dissipate when she’s actually interacting with people, but come back when she is alone and desperate for interacting. She usually gets louder when she’s at home, and often talk to herself, and think out loud a bunch, or if she’s in her room.
When a person usually see her room, she believes that she has some kind of addiction to Napoleon Boneparte, and his First French Empire, even taking her jokes about her being a descendant of his seriously, even if she repeats that she is in no way related to him, and she just so happens to be born on his birthday, with parents from the same neighbourhood he was from in Ajaccio. This usually leads to questions if Valencia is actually, secretly insane, or infact, has Asperger's Syndrome, due to how she reacts to when questioned about this behaviour with a rather unusually defensive manner, and the fact she is pretty sharp at certain things that people her age usually don’t know, not even her own parents. The fact she also breaks down at random times in private that she was “Born in the wrong generation” can probably lead that she has some other disability. Sometimes, this can leak into when she’s making a video, ranting or otherwise, but rarely.
However, outside of her house and on video, Valencia is seemingly sane, and is pretty adept of hiding her disabilities, despite her parents concerns, and even shows her respect towards her family and her friends, without lashing out into one of her tantrums. At times, she can have a strange habit of fidgeting her hands, and covering her ears if things get too loud for her, sometimes tearing from stress.
Phobias:
Slight Technophobia
- Fear or dislike of advanced technologies, namely computers and mobile phones. Valencia only has a slight technophobia and will use advanced technology no problem, but will feel some unease when using it.
Skills:
Valencia, for someone so timid, has amazing charismatic skills. This is mostly seen in her ways of trying to get people to see her points of view, usually letting people speak their pieces, and tries her best not to interrupt, and try her best at coming up with a counterargument. If it is something she can’t make an argument against, she will usually allow the other person to go on their way and try to end something on a good note, and leave on good terms. If that is not possible, she will still try anyways.
Quirks:
Valencia can sometimes slip up her words in English and Japanese, often slipping in French or even Corsican words in it, or rarely, all three in one word, making new strange words that is incomprehensible with all four languages. This strange mix, is at random, and it isn’t a result of her knowing how to do it, but just happens. She has an addiction to move her thumb in a rhythmic fashion when she hears something turn on as a result of a press of a button, such as a pen, and will usually think of a random tune in her head, and try to make it with her pen. Often times, she will try to write down what she is trying to think with the said beat she made, and sing to herself.
Valencia also often gets sick from things that are displayed such as fake love towards someone or people fighting and suddenly making up, which in that case, she calls it unrequited love. She will often try to heave and throw up from such acts, as it does not deem acceptable to her brain on what a friend or a lover should be like.
Family:
Valencia is an only child in her family, compared to her Father and Mother’s siblings that seem to have an average of 3-6 children in their families. Her father is Adam, and her mother is Vanessa. She has two uncles named Emmanuel and Fabien, and an aunt named Ève.
Her family is much larger on her father's side, as he has a couple more cousins than her mother does. Their family tree is said to be of royalty, but she has not yet taken a test.
Backstory
Valencia Henrietta Pasquier was born on 15 August 2005 in the small yet old city of Caen in Normandy in France.
Her mother, Josephine Bocuse, was born in Caen, and worked in a office firm. When Valencia was born, she would leave her job to raise Valencia, and become more of a housewife. Josephine would be the great great great granddaughter of a Napoleonic general by the name of André Masséna, who was famous for being known as "The Dear Child of Victory". Her grandfather would serve in World War II in the Free France movement.
Her father, Adam Pasquier would be a businessman who lived in the United States for over 15 years before retiring and returning to France, settling in Caen. He is originally from the island of Corsica from the city of Ajaccio in the neighbourhood of Rue Saint-Charles on the street of Rue Letiza, next to a hair salon. He too has blood that fought in the French Resistance that was in Corsica, and her grandfather fought under Charles De Gaulle himself.
Valencia grew up around children who often made fun of her accent due to her mixed heritage, and even her looks as well as her weirdness from the other children as she talked to herself often, and her strange quirks and interests. Unlike other girls, Valencia was not interested in makeup and beauty pageants and that sort of things as a normal girl would. She enjoyed playing with her dolls, but enjoyed reading more, and writing things, as well as coloring. During the earlier part of her life, she was a technophobe, and usually would avoid technology as much as she can (by simply not using it, not trying to stay away from it personally. Radio or recording devices that are older than a portable MP3 device seemed to be an exception.), and did not know how to use a computer until the age of nine, where she would eventually get over her phobia of technology, and start to use it more. She would eventually grow out of the silly phobia fully by that time as well, and started to marvel at it, and love it more.
Valencia’s parents would eventually move to Karakura, as her father found a better business opportunity in Japan, and figured it’d be best if he took it there, as well as his family. Dreaming of going to Japan, Valencia was excited.
For about two years, Valencia has lived in Karakura, and the constant worries she has, was of her nationality decision. She would have to renounce her French Citizenship should she even remain in Japan as soon as she hits the age of twenty, as per the laws, but she, at the same time, does not want to renounce it. Additionally, she still struggles in writing in Japanese, but has begun to learn how to speak it, for about a couple of years prior to her arrival.
Regardless, her times in the High School was much different than she had expected. First, she noticed the huge number of foreigners in the school, in a stark comparison to Caen, which hardley had that many cultures and background. Even Rouen's College and lycée did not had that many foreigners in it. Although she continues to have high doubts and bad experiences in the school, she would eventually become apart of it's Student Council, which was seen as a prestigious and high honor in the school, atleast to her, and continues to make sure that Karakura shall be a safe place. She once resigned from the council in 2019, but she had since returned in recent years, but again resigned in 2020. She would become President of the History Club, and Vice President of the Debate Club, both which she also resigned later in the year, where she would head back to France to be with her family due to important matters. She'd come back in November of 2021.
