Out-Of-Character Information

What is your Minecraft username?:
VAR_MINT
Do you have Discord (If so, what is your discord username?):
My discord user is var_mint
What is your time zone?:
My time zone is EST (Eastern).
Describe your activity on the server:
I have been playing SRP since July 28, 2025, meaning I have been playing for a year and three months now! In that year and three months, I have logged on almost every day, engaging in roleplay with many members of the community. Outside of roleplay within the school, I have partook in CrimeRP and GangRP, and have even been a part of large gangs such as Kagetsu, even taking part in the Powerplant Tower collapse which earned the group the Street Gang title. I have also had some of my characters join families, even some which have had people working as School Employees, meaning I am able to understand the duties of these employees. Speaking of the school employees, funny enough, one of my first ever interactions on the server was with one of these employees, specifically a librarian, as I was going to buy a library card!
Do you acknowledge that if you are inactive you will be demoted?:
Yes, I fully acknowledge this!
School Employee Role you are applying for?:
I am applying for the Librarian role!
In as much detail as possible, describe the employee role you are applying for:
The job of a librarian is to maintain the library and assist any students or employees within the library. Librarians spend their time organizing books and making sure they're in the right shelves and areas. For example: If a teacher finds a history book about the Roman Empire, they would put it on a shelf under the History area. With this in mind, librarians assist students and fellow employees by helping them find these books if they are unable to find them, or by giving them more insight on specific topics they may find when reading new books. Librarians also have the duty of selling library cards for 2000 yen.
What experience, in general, do you have in roleplay?:
Overall, I have a large amount of experience in roleplay, starting in 2022 in a public SMP server, where I managed to partake in a dramatic, medieval-themed story. Outside of Minecraft, I have also been part of two Dungeons & Dragons campaigns with two other friends. Upon deciding I wished to go back to roleplaying in Minecraft, I discovered SchoolRP in 2025 when randomly searching for servers. Ever since 2022, I have immensely grown as a roleplayer; I have been able to better my skills in DetailRP, and have been able to build and create deep, compelling stories for not just my SRP characters, but also the story of the roleplay universes I have built outside the server.
Why do you want to join the School Employee faction?:
I wish to join the School Employee faction mostly because although I have spent much of my time roleplaying on SchoolRP as a KHS Student or a Criminal, I have never been able to roleplay within the core School part of the server. I feel as if becoming a librarian to me serves as a warm, helpful, and fun introduction into this environment, and to the School Employee faction itself. As a librarian, I hope to be able to witness what an average school day looks like from the side of the employees in the school! As of writing this, I actually have a few friends who are part of the School Employee faction, with roles like the Receptionist and the Tutor. With them mentioning all their experiences in the faction, from helping students or dealing with chaotic ones, this has also further sparked my interest in experiencing a school day from the eyes of an employee.

Situations

During a work-shift a student starts cursing at you for being pathetic, how does your character react?:
Grace would remain calm, not allowing the student's words to harm her emotionally. In addition to staying calm, Grace would aim to make sure the situation is handled quickly, professionally, and without issue or further escalation. She would stand up from her chair and stand with a formal posture. In a calm, controlled tone of voice, she would say "I am truly sorry if this is how you feel, however I must ask you to please lower your voice and refrain from saying these things. We are in a library, and it is crucial to remain respectful and quiet in the library so others can study or read." Should the student not listen to her, she would again warn them, stating "Again, I must ask you to refrain from this rude behavior. I do not want it to come to this, but there will be further consequences if you continue. Please respect the rules of the library and the school."
You notice two students are physically fighting in the hallway, – multiple punches have been thrown – how does your character react?:
She would immediately get up from her chair and bolt to the scene. Upon arriving at the scene, she would quickly radio her colleagues informing them of the fight and where it was happening. Instead of trying to physically break the fight by forcing the students away from each other, she would shout "That's enough! Both of you, stop!" In a loud, sharp voice to stop the fight. Once the fight has stopped, she would arrange for the two students to go to the Nurse's office for medical care, escorting both of them and radioing a nurse on duty. Before handing the two students off to the nurse, she would then tell them "I really hope I don't see you both doing this again. Hopefully you both have learned that being civil and communicating with calm words rather than physical attacks is more efficient." After saying this she would write up two detention slips, handing each of them to the two students.
Another school employee is clearly acting inappropriately, doing something very dangerous on the job, how does your character react?:
Grace would immediately take point and intervene not with physical action, but by calling out the school employee, asking them what their intentions are and why they are doing this. She then would inform the employee that what they're doing is strictly against school policy or is extremely dangerous. If the employee refuses to stop or ignores her, she would quickly report the inappropriate behavior or dangerous act to higher-ups before radioing the other employees to inform them of what the employee is doing so they can remain vigilant or cautious.
When in the employee break room, how does your character act?
Grace would continue to remain professional even in the employee break room. If any other employees talk to her, she would offer a friendly greeting, or participate in conversations with other faculty members, asking them about how their days were going. If no one else was there in the break room or if no one else was talking to her, she would spend her time quietly sipping coffee whilst looking outside the window.
Provide us with at least three detailed /me's of your character whilst on your chosen role:
/me would sit calmly at the front desk of the library looking at the monitor until she saw the student walk up to the desk. She turned her chair away from the computer and toward the student. She then offered the student a warm smile before answering their question. "Hello, welcome to library! Yes, I can tell you where to find that book, one moment." She said before turning her chair back to the monitor and typing the name of the book into the computer, giving her information about the book. She leaned in, reading all the details from the book name, description, and most importantly, the genre. The screen read that the genre of the book was history, so Grace said "Hmm, it seems like your book is in the history section." She turned her chair to face the student again. "The history section is just a bit of walk straight down the middle hall. You should see a sign on top of the shelves that say 'history' when you're there." She leaned back in her chair and interlocked her fingers before looking up at the student and smiling. "Do you need help with anything else?"
/me raised her eyebrow upon hearing the student's request for a library card, turning the chair toward them and smiling. "Of course I can get you a library card! Give me one moment." She would then shift her chair to the right, and search under the desk for a brand new library card. She found a small storage bin with blank library cards. She would drag out the bin and grab a card before pushing it back into the desk. She then moved her chair back to the left, placing the library card on the desk next to the computer before turning to face the student again. "I'll need two-thousand yen and your name, and you should be well on your way with your new library card."
/me would be driving a cart full of returned books when she was passing the non-fiction section. As she began to put books back on the shelves in that section, she noticed a 'Star Wars' comic book in the middle of one of the shelves. "Blimey, that's not supposed to be there.." she whispered to herself before grabbing the book. She left the cart in the non-fiction section, walking over to the fiction section to put the comic book back. She brushed her fingers row-by-row, looking for where specifically the comic books were. Once she found it, she placed the comic book alongside the other 'Star Wars' themed comic books, ensuring that the shelf and row remained organized. "There we go. Nice and dandy." She said cheerfully to herself before returning the cart and continuing to place the returned books where they belonged.

Backstory
After being granted citizenship and finally settling into the new country, Grace attended public middle-school and high-school, but unfortunately had to learn how to handle toxic environments in these schools because of the large amount of bullies and harsh teachers. Usually, she would go to the one place where bullies rarely ever went to in the school: the library. There, she spend much time reading, and started becoming intrigued on books about the U.S. Navy and aviation. The book that originally caught her eye about this was “TOPGUN: An American Story” by Dan Pedersen, the founder of the Navy Fighter Weapons School. Ever since she started reading into these topics, it became her dream to go to the Navy, and she would completely set her sights on this goal.
By the time she was 18, Grace had graduated from school with fantastic grades and she had earned her high school diploma. She then applied for the U.S. Naval Academy, which she attended for four years, earning a bachelor’s degree and receiving a naval commission. By 2019 when she was 22, she had taken the Oath of Office and had become a Navy Officer. She spent the next two years in flight school, where she was eventually certified to be a Weapon Systems Officer (WSO or ‘Wizzo’, as crew members call them) for the F/A-18F Super Hornet, managing complicated electrical systems and stressful radio communications. When she was transferred to a carrier to begin her active duty in 2021, she met the pilot she would be serving with: William Robins. Both served in the VFA-103 “Jolly Rogers” fighter squadron, being deployed across the world for the next few years. After 4 years, in 2024 the two got married, with Grace adopting the Robins last name.
Unfortunately, by 2025 during an emergency sortie, a tragic accident occurred that resulted in the passing of William, leaving Grace devastated. During the time that she was grieving, she explored her love for literature again, even discovering an interesting book about an island near Japan, named “Karakura.” Remembering how much she loved Japan when being stationed with William at an airbase near Tokyo, Grace decided on a new goal for herself once she was finished with her time in the Navy; She would fully retire from military service, and instead would take up a calmer job as a librarian at Karakura High School. She decided it would’ve been the best thing, since she knew her husband would not want her to live in constant grief if she continued her service.
So, by 2026, when she was 29, Grace had completed her military service and moved to Karakura, starting a more peaceful life for herself and settling in with the city and community. Eventually, she would apply to become a librarian at the High School, trading the stressful seat of a fighter jet for the calmer, quieter seat of a librarian’s desk. After a few days, on one morning, she grabbed her phone which was on her nightstand next to her and William's dog tags. She began to browse through notifications and emails, most of which were uninteresting to her or simply spam, until she saw an email from Karakura High School regarding the final decision of her application!
Motivation for Joining KHS (Character perspective):
"Well, ever since I left the Navy, I've wanted to work somewhere where I could still put the skills I learned from my service, like critical thinking, and the ability to handle situations with ease and proper effort, to good use. I feel like the school is just the right place for that, because although the students may appear to make the environment chaotic, I've seen how well the faculty is able to keep the school under control, and how passionate they are about their jobs and helping students stay on the right path. I hope to join the team of employees to further assist them in steering the students on the right path as much as I can.
Why should you be accepted over the other applicants?:
"I feel like the only real reason I should be accepted over others is because of how much commitment and effort I am willing to bring to the table for this job. In the Navy, we were taught about the importance of putting full dedication into something, no matter what that something is. Whilst this is my personal reasoning for being accepted, I still do believe everyone has a fair chance of being either accepted or denied, and a fair chance for everyone is something I've always believed in."
