Vera is naturally curious, tending to switch from special interest to special interest, but tends to freeze up in tense or scary instances. Due to almost being robbed when she first moved to Karakura she tends to avoid going out at night alone, especially to the woods or the fishing pond. She'd rather just stay at her apartment and read a good book, paint, cosplay, or work on her homework. Despite this, she's actually quite outgoing and friendly, trying to overcome her anxieties by having a goal to talk to or compliment someone at least once per day.
She often finds herself obsessing over her mistakes in her artwork and everyday activities. She also finds the need to “even things out”. For example if she slightly brushes one hand against her clothing she would need to slightly brush her other hand in the same opposite spot. She sometimes needs to do this multiple times until it “feels right”.

Despite Vera's mother deciding to up and leave after a particularly tense argument between Vera's mother and her mother Vera grew up surrounded by a loving family. Her Father and Vera's grandmother often showed their love and support for her and her dreams. Her father nurtured her vast imagination, creativity, and hyper self by providing her with the materials to put her ideas on paper with both pencil and paint. Her father also gave her the opportunity to put her vast amount of energy into sports and after school activities such as soccer and tennis. Throughout her childhood her grandmother shared her knowledge of the Italian language and her father taught her Polish. Vera was always wowed by the vibrant arts scene of Chicago and the murals on the sides of buildings and in the Chicago Art Institute.
At 14 years old her life changed due to financial difficulties with her Mother not being in the picture and her Father losing his job. So her father decided to have Vera move in with her grandmother on her Mother’s side. The thing is Vera’s Grandmother moved to Karakura just two years before, just south of Tokyo. That means she had to relocate to a completely different country.
Now Vera has to navigate through life in a whole new country! What will happen? Will she make friends? Advance her artistic abilities? Who knows!
