Describe your activity on the server:
My activity on the server is something hard to describe so I'll split it into parts.

Student Council
-
The first faction I ever joined on the SchoolRP, I got accepted with still NameMC skin which gave me really nice opportunity to get introduced on the server. I applied on January 31 in 2023 as Hitomi McMullen. I've been fairly active on the server before but I was still new. Joining council allowed me to actually fully grasp the server; I became super active on the server, probably I was the most active councilor. I did overwork a lil bit, I always offered my help everywhere I could. I worked along the presidents on global events and council events. I'd say my roleplay skills weren't that good back then, my character was also really basic as she was my first character; despite of it, she was very known in the school. Unfortunately due to some incident, I was removed from faction. However, I re-applied to council, I got denied twice. I fully gave up on the faction until the current vice-president messaged me, saying I was really useful for council and he loved my character and the way I worked with council. So I gave one last chance to apply and I got in. I applied with Neon Hayasaka character. I believe I did a lot for the faction.

Shrine
- I had joined shrine and I really liked it. Although not many people were there to actually roleplay. I’m applying with the same character that was in Shrine. After I lost motivation to play on server, I stepped down from my position, as I didn’t want to occupy it while inactive. I focused on my mental health and now I’m ready to be in faction and actually be active.

Clubs
- After my second student council departure I have applied for Journalism club, which I quickly got promoted to junior journalist and then senior journalist. I'd say I did my job very well and managed the club and I've been a huge contribute to the journalism club.

JockRP
- I never really joined any sport faction but I did try out twice; one for volleyball team, one for swim team. I didn't get in unfortunately. Despite of it, I interacted a lot with sport teams with my councillor characters, Hitomi and Neon.

RomanceRP
-
This is where I actually spent most of my time on the server. Neon got in a very toxic relationship which made a great arc for my character, it changed her forever; the effect of relationship is still visible. It might seem dumb to spend so much time on RomanceRP but I think that story I made with my friend, was something that could be written about as some kind of story. It was psychological, emotional and incredibly fun to roleplay.

CrimeRP / GangRP
-
I did never engage in GangRP activities. I disliked how much it was like a pvp for other players. At first I had to deal with lots of the gangrpers since they did target new councilors. CrimeRP on the other hand, is a different story. I liked engaging in with something that actually had a lore and purpose and nice DetailRP. Breaking someone's limb in RP just because they called your character an asshole was incredibly boring and blank. I focused on crime incidents actually having a lore behind. It was still something I haven't done too much, but it did happen at some point.

As for the main question; I'm fairly active. I log on regularly. I'd rate it 7.5/10 at the moment. My total playtime is 28w 6d 3h (4851 hours).

What is your timezone?: GMT+1

List your current roles on the server:
Adult, College Bachelor, Grade-12, Dog whitelist
I do not occupy any faction slot at the moment.

What experiences do you have with roleplay?:
I'd say I have really big experience with roleplay. I've been on the server for a good while, and I really love DetailRP which is crucial for EMS. I like to create interesting and intriguing characters that aren't boring and actually have personality. I never make my characters perfect in every aspect, I'm not a must-win.

Here are some examples of my DetailRP;

1776441380275.png

(This screenshot with using hydrogen peroxide was when I was unaware it could damage tissues. As a child, I always used it for my own injuries. And it was also when I had smaller knowledge about medicine.)

What is your motivation for applying?:
This part of the application will be a bit personal, and probably a lot different than others. But I want to say it regardless.
I have studied computer science, unfortunately I couldn't really finish the school as I dropped it. In the middle of it, I found out that actually it's not my main interest. Something else had gotten this position; and it was medicine. It started by watching Dr. House and some YT videos medicine related. And honestly, as much as I'd want, I'm unable to study medicine. Not with my health. Despite of it, I keep studying on my own, without any pressure. So the motivation for applying is... I want to learn more about medicine. And I want to feel like practicing it, even if it's just a roleplay, even if it's not real. People play on SRP to detach from real life in many cases. I also used to do that. And because I'm unable to become a doctor IRL, I'd still want to experience it.

My second motivation is; to find a reason to play on the server again actively. Unfortunately due to some incidents, I lost my activity, which I want to rebuild. And joining faction that's around medicine which I am fascinated by, would have given me more than one reason to log on the server. I am not inactive though, I log on regularly and sometimes roleplay. But it's not the same activity I used to have when I was in factions or when I was developing my main character, Neon Hayasaka - I used to spend whole days playing her.

With my characters, I visited hospital really often. Which means I am familiar with procedures and roleplay over there. I do have some basic knowledge about what can be done or what can't be done, what items can be held without prescription or which one you cannot have without it. I am also acknowledged with the recovery system and rules in Hospital itself. I know how shop panel works, as I worked in 7/11 and sold items in Shrine, so I won't need a training in this regard.
With both of my characters, Neon and Ga-yoon, when EMS were offline, I have roleplayed out some medical help when others needed it. I believe it's better to take stuff into your hands rather than unrealistically do SkipRP. Of course in hospital situations, if you're not qualified, you should not do anything and let the SkipRP. But in my own roleplay situations, I offered the medical help. I'm familiar with DetailRP of dealing with broken limbs, injuries, stab wounds, stitching, of course without uncomfortable details that could be triggering.

Which role are you applying for?:
Doctor. Although, I'll accept the psychiatrist role since I am also interested in psychology, but less than medicine. And if it's possible, I'd want to eventually transfer to doctor. Of course Ga-yoon would have a psychiatry specialty and be older if she transfers into a doctor, as you need time to get specialty.

What knowledge do you have of the roles within the Hospital Faction?:
Upon joining the hospital, you either become a psychiatrist trainee or doctor trainee. You're really limited during your trial and you can't go off duty without faction's lead permission. (Or at all, I'm not sure.) Your actions are also supervised to ensure you're doing things correctly, and of course you have to attend trainings, and then complete exam. After it, you become officially doctor or psychiatrist.

Psychiatrist role: doctors in hospital will send player's request for a psychiatrist in the channel, where you can contact the person on discord and plan out the RP; the time of appointment, etc. Psychiatrists also specialize in specific things, so depending on that, you should choose the disorder you believe you can actually help. On sessions, it's your job to listen to the patient, always ensure that everything they say in the therapy room is protected by physician-patient privilege, and unless the patient is in danger or committed crimes, everything will stay in the room, in secret. Goal of the psychiatrist is to diagnose the patient and provide the medication, but on SRP they also provide therapy services.

There are many therapy approaches;
- Invidual Therapy
- Group Therapy
- Couples Therapy
- Family Therapy

And there are more techniques;
- Psychodynamic Therapy helps patients understand more about themself.
- Behavioral Therapy helps patients with self-destructive patterns.
- Cognitive Therapy helps patients changing dysfunctional ways of thinking.
- Humanistic Therapy helps patients find a sense or meaning in life.
- Integrative Therapy involves many therapy techniques.

Psychiatrist has two variants; resident and attending. First one means you're not fully trained and still under supervision. Second one means you're fully trained.

Doctor Role: this role is much more complex. As a doctor, your job is mainly to help patients. You can sell the hospital items or medications. (I think psychiatrists also can do that but I'm not 100% sure.) Doctors also can diagnose or treat injuries.

Upon gaining specialty, this is when you actually can open your wings. There are many directions you can choose and have completely different experience. It's probably also the hardest decision to make in medicine. Me personally, I really love diagnosing. But on SRP there aren't many people who ask for one, which is I want to make my character a surgeon eventually.

Similarly to psychiatrist, the role has two variants of the same meaning, resident and attending.

Paramedic Role: I don't know much about this role. From what I know, they can provide both psychiatric and medical help (this is what my friend told me, that paramedic led the therapy session.) But most importantly they work together with KPD and often go outside on rescue missions. They also treat trauma and emergency cases.

This role has no attending or resident position, just trainee and fully qualified paramedic.

Clinical Leads:
They are your higher ups, basically. They will be likely one who will train you. Psychiatrist department, emergency department and doctor department have separate leads.

Hospital Deputy Director:
It's kinda like vice-director. It's your superior, who does help managing the faction.

And lastly...

The Hospital Director:
The person who right now reads this application and manages the entire faction.

Do you acknowledge that if training is held whilst you are online, you are expected to attend or you will be punished?:
The chance of me not appearing are really small. If anything, I'd inform if I can't be online at that day. But giving the fact I'm available almost all the time, this won't be an issue and I'll easily attend the trainings. I do acknowledge the potential punishment if I'm online and yet refuse to attend training though.

Character Backstory (Optional):
Chapter 0 - Introduction

Ga-yoon Jaibatsume grew up in a small estate in Fukui, she is one of six children in the respected Jaibatsume family. The girl held an unusual calmness, she was reserved and typically unspoken, not drawing much attention from crowds or individuals around her. Because of this, she was not the target of her father Kenzou, who abused Mee-young and Eden. She was simply an obedient child, doing her best to satisfy her parents' expectations. She was helping her family in their business and didn't expect anything in return.

Chapter 1 - The spider's web

Ga-yoon always lived in ilusion, grown in household where everything was clear, rules, hierarchy, etc. She was sure that everything was in its correct place. Kenzou Mawji, the authority of the family - was strict and stern, which seemed normal for the head of the family. Ga-yoon had never questioned this arrangement. Until that night. An ordinary quiet night, she woke up and got out of bed, thirstiest of all. She went to grab herself a glass of water, however on the way, she've heard something. Was it sobbing? She had no ideea. Ga-yoon started to approach the room from which the sounds were coming. She swung the door open and saw something that changed her perspective forever - her ideals and reality had crumbled in half. The father she respected was not really who he claimed to be. Kenzou Mawji, the father she had respected for so long was anything but a father to his children, he was a monster. Mee-young curled up on the floor, making Ga-yoon's vision towards her sister change drastically. Ga-yoon felt anger towards her father. This is not how it should be, the girl thought. The sight of her father above Mee-young, above her like the shadow of a beast, like something inevitable, inescapable. Like a force that no one could oppose. Ga-yoon quietly closed the door, not uttering a word, not wanting to make her presence known. For days, weeks, months, she walked with this knowledge, her shoulders transfixed, this vision hard to bear. Too heavy. What had once seemed certain to her - the hierarchy in the family, her vision.... had all been brutally trampled by this one random situation she had witnessed. Ga-yoon blamed herself for not seeing anything before, she couldn't bear the fact that she was so blind. However, this situation did not make Ga-yoon suddenly a heroine. She didn't throw herself into battle, she wasn't even able to raise her voice against her father. This discovery destroyed her childhood in an instant. Ga-yoon locked herself in her dark burrow, a cave where no one was allowed to enter. The girl never left it for a moment; it was her safe zone. When she had any contact with her father, she looked at him differently. Ga-yoon kept her distance, knowing that if she played this game inappropriately, she would become a victim of his tyranny herself. The girl dared not say anything against Kenzou out loud. She was not the heroine of the story, Ga-yoon was merely an observer, a spectator who joined in too late to react appropriately. This silence, her silence, and lack of reaction became her greatest burden. Ga-yoon could have reacted, but she did not. She began to hate herself for it. Even her mirror reflection made the girl feel an inner disgust towards herself. Ga-yoon, while painting herself using a mirror given for her birthday by her mother, Yumi Jaibatsume, finally couldn't stand it. A ‚spider web’ appeared on the mirror. Ga-yoon deliberately cracked it.

Chapter 2 - The mask of nonchalance

After the traumatic discovery of the physical abuse that Ga-yoon discovered, her vision lay in ruins. She avoided her father and siblings, as she spent most of her time locked in her room. She'd only leave her room to help mother with chores but it was not always the case. Ga-yoon struggled to understand her new reality. However, life went on and school duties evolved due to her absence from school. Mee-young, her older sister, despite her situation, continued studies with her extreme determination. Her strength was an inspiration but also a reminder of Ga-yoon's weakness. The girl was later filled with admiration when Mee-young fought against her monsters at school. Watching her sister, Ga-yoon realized that she had to find a way to survive in her new reality. The girl adopted a 'mask' of nonchalance - an apparent indifference designed to protect her fragile insides from further cracks. Ga-yoon's new attitude allowed her to hide her emotions, as well as giving her the illusion of strength and confidence. As time passed, Ga-yoon mastered this art to perfection. Ga-yoon's face was completely blank from this point. Her mask became her shield, that was meant to protect her from the cruel world. Beneath it, there was a deep scar that no one was able to heal.

Chapter 3 - The growing shadow of an ideal

Jade Jaibatsume was never Ga-yoon's favorite - but she wasn't an intruder to her even though she didn't share blood with her. However, that changed when Jade began to find herself better at home than Ga-yoon herself. Even Mee-young herself seemed to like Jade better. Moreover, the girl easily won the sympathy of the teachers. This hurt, but Ga-yoon couldn't admit it. Instead, the girl let jealousy turn into anger. Jade, the girl who shouldn't be here, fit in here better than Ga-yoon. She was closer to the ideal than she was - and she hated that. Ga-yoon decided to prevent this. Instead of trying to become the best version of herself, the girl preferred to make Jade worse. It all started with biting comments, questioning her value and place in the family, and ironic smiles that made every praise Jade received taste bitter. However, this was not enough for Ga-yoon. The girl was going to go one step further. It was going to have to hurt her. Before turning to violence, Ga-yoon was clipping her wings. Her belongings disappeared, her notes were destroyed, and she found hidden messages undermining her place in the family. Ga-yoon was telling Jade that they had found her in a dumpster and that her parents had left her. Yet despite this, Jade could only be harmed by Ga-yoon. When someone accosted her, the girl would stand up for her younger sister. Jade was her puppet to play with. Ga-yoon who was unable to stop her father from abusing Mee-young, who was just an observer without any control. But in her relationship with Jade, it was she who dictated the terms, she who decided how much pain Jade would receive. And surprisingly, Ga-yoon did not want to destroy her. Ga-yoon believed that if she had control over someone, she could stop further cracks in her mirror. However, hurting Jade was taking its toll on herself. Ga-yoon didn't want or couldn't admit that deep down she admired Jade. Her ego did not allow it. The girl preferred to hurt her instead.

Chapter 4 - Hollow Laughter

Ga-yoon and her sisters' father were murdered by Winter Jaibatsume herself. The news reached her quickly. Although she was distanced from her father after the event she had witnessed, his death triggered an avalanche of feelings in the girl that flooded her. Ga-yoon who had formed a mask of nonchalance could not use it this time. Ga-yoon was filled with chaos. Death of her father reminded her of everything once again. On the other hand, she was happy that reason for her sibling's suffer was gone. But also, she felt a bit empty inside and lost. In a way, however, the girl had become like her father. The mask of nonchalance reappeared on her face and with it a loud laugh. Almost hysterical. Ga-yoon amid the gathered family members simply started laughing.

"So that's it then? So much mess, and the ending so simple?"

Ga-yoon's reaction shocked the sisters who were abused by Kenzou. It was as if the girl was aware, and knew more than the rest. Her eyes, as cool as night, lit water, shone with nonchalance; there was no sadness, regret, or even satisfaction in her. The death of her father for the rest was a relief. For her, it was nothing, or at least that's how she tried to show it. Inside the girl was nevertheless boiling.

"Well, maybe at least we'll have peace." she uttered these words after which she simply left the meeting.

SECTION 2: MEDICAL HISTORY
What is your character’s medical speciality? Why did they choose this focus?:

General Surgery (with focus on trauma/emergency cases)

She chose this specialty because it's one of the few fields where hesitation can result in patient's life. If you don't react fast enough, things will fall apart. She learned early what is the outcome when standing still. Ga-yoon does not want to repeat it. In critical moments, precision and timing are crucial, and emotions only make things harder. In this field, hesitation can't have a place, and detachment is rewarded. And Ga-yoon? She finds it very efficient. Which is why she chose this specialty.

Does your character have any work experience in medical positions?
Yes. She completed 2-year internship in Tokyo, gaining experience in both MD position and general surgery specialty. She has experience when dealing with emergency or trauma cases. Before that, she sometimes offered first-aid help in Shrine when EMS were offline.

SECTION 3: CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE
Describe your character; how do they look, what makes them unique? How would they be perceived by others?
123231 (1) (1).png

(3d render of Ga-yoon Jaibatsume, made by @findouticly)

Ga-yoon is true definition of beauty, or at least this is what she would say about herself. She has composed and delicate appearance. Her blonde hair is long and really taken care of. Her style is really simple, despite of Ga-yoon adoring her own look, she doesn't like having too many outfits, she has usually just few. Ga-yoon appears to be calm, detached and cold, despite of her relatively warm expression. She's distant and her face barely betrays any emotions.

People often struggle to read through her. Her detachment and distance can be useful or unsettling. In her job, it surely helps.

How does your character act around the hospital?
Due to her nature, Ga-yoon is calm and precide. She's highly composed in the hospital environment, maintaining controlled and professional demeanor at all time. She speaks only when she really needs to, limiting the interactions with patients to remain objective. In trauma or emergency situations showing emotions can be harmful. That doesn't mean she wouldn't interact with patients at all. In stressful situations, her precision remains high, no matter how loud and chaotic the environment would be. She almost never raises her voice, too. Under her professionalism, she can be sarcastic or narcissistic.

Does your character function better on their own or with others?
She's best at functioning independently, but she can work with others when it's needed. Due to her backstory, she prefers having full control and not rely on other people. In surgeries, coordination is required and she is fully capable of working with others, but she simply prefers leading and be assisted if anything. She does respect the authority or hierarchy though.

Firstly, thank you for applying to the Hospital Faction, and we appreciate your interest. However, after discussing your application with the higher-ups, we have unfortunately decided to deny your application this time around as we feel other applications stood out more.

Nonetheless, we encourage you to keep an eye on the Karakura Emergency #announcements channel for future application waves, and to re-apply at a later date if you're still interested.
