Welcome to my Shrine application! I look forward to working with you soon. After my internship, I liked it terribly and I hope to get the opportunity to further roleplay with you!

Describe your activity on the server:
My activity is something tough to describe. Unfortunately, like every human, I face problems and my private life, but despite this, I dedicate a lot of time to SRP. There are factors such as school and my health, specifically sleep problems. I either sleep too much or too little, which throws me off balance. Sometimes in the middle of Roleplay, I have to go because I just... want to sleep. Just like that, in the middle of the day. That's just the way I am, I don't know what's wrong with me. However, my status on Discord often shows that I play 15 hours on SchoolRP in one session. Sometimes this is true, but most of the time this number is hypocritical, as I leave Minecraft running when I play other games, or when I put the computer to sleep to take a nap.
I will sum it up with a rating of 9/10 on the server activity scale. Some people even ask if I sleep at all because they see me Online all the time.
List your current roles on the server:
I currently have the role of Grade 12 Journalist and play the character Neon Hayasaka. This is my main character, and I am not applying to Shrine with it.
The character I am applying with is Ga-yoon Jaibatsume, who currently has the role College.
I also have a third, empty character slot.
When I get in, I will move Neon to College give her the age of 19, and ask for the Priest role on the main slot. However, I will most likely no longer have the Journalist role, but it is possible to be in the club without that role, and the club itself is not a faction.

What position are you applying for (Maiden or Priest)?
I won't lie, I'm interested in the role of Maiden much more than Priest. But I realize that there is only one slot available. That's why I'm applying for the role of Priest; however - if you think my application deserves the role of Maiden, please do so. My character has had an apprenticeship focused specifically on the role of Maiden, and I prefer playing tea ceremonies to misogi.
What is your motivation for applying?
Most of my time at SchoolRP was spent on the school's student council, but after two capsizes you may know about, I completely let go and applied for Journalism. I am currently a Senior Journalist, the highest role of Higher'up and I dedicate my time mainly to this club and to developing the character of Neon Hayasaka. However, that doesn't mean I'm going to leave Ga-yoon unattended - I'm not going to forcibly fill a quota, I intend to give all the maximum I can, not the minimum just to not lose the role.
What do you currently know about Shintoism? Are you willing to learn more about it?
Before my internship, I didn't know much about Shintoism. On my first application, I wrote what I learned through simple research. Now, however, I know much more. Not just about Shintoism, but about how it functions in Shrine. I know how a character should purify themselves before entering the temple, I know how and when they should bow, I know how to make offerings, I know how a character should prepare light and strong tea for guests, and I know how they should perform the tea ceremony. The knowledge I acquired before writing 1 application is still valid, so I refer you to my previous application for more information.
But what my character loved was tarot card reading, Ga-yoon after learning, started reading tarot to people without the supervision of her mentor. Not that she needed to, her mentor found that she read them better and understood them faster than she did when she was learning.

Chapter 0 - Introduction
Ga-yoon Jaibatsume grew up in a small estate in Fukui, she is one of six children in the respected Jaibatsume family. The girl held an unusual calmness, she was reserved and typically unspoken, not drawing much attention from crowds or individuals around her. Because of this and a few other factors, she was not the target of her Father, Kenzou, who abused Mee-young and Eden. Ga-yoon was simply an obedient child, doing her best to satisfy her parents' expectations. The girl helped the family business without expecting anything in return.
Chapter 1 - The Cracked Mirror
Ga-yoon had always lived in an illusion, brought up in a home where the rules were clear, she was sure that everything happening around her was exactly as it should be. Kenzou Mawji, the authority of the family - was strict and stern, which seemed normal for the head of the family. Ga-yoon had never questioned this arrangement. Until that night. An ordinary quiet night, she woke up and got out of bed, thirstiest of all. She just wanted to go and get a glass of water. However, on the way, she heard something. Sobbing? She didn't know what was going on. Ga-yoon started to approach the room from which the sounds were coming. She swung the door open and saw something that changed her perspective forever - her ideals and reality had crumbled in half. The father she respected was not really who he claimed to be. Kenzou Mawji, the father she had respected for so long was anything but a father to his children, he was a monster. Mee-young curled up on the floor, making Ga-yoon's vision towards her sister change drastically. Ga-yoon felt anger towards her father. This is not how it should be, the girl thought. The sight of her father above Mee-young, above her like the shadow of a beast, like something inevitable, inescapable. Like a force that no one could oppose. Ga-yoon quietly closed the door, not uttering a word, not wanting to make her presence known. For days, weeks, months, she walked with this knowledge, her shoulders transfixed, this vision hard to bear. Too heavy. What had once seemed certain to her - the hierarchy in the family, her vision.... had all been brutally trampled by this one random situation she had witnessed. Ga-yoon blamed herself for not seeing anything before, she couldn't bear the fact that she was so blind. However, this situation did not make Ga-yoon suddenly a heroine. She didn't throw herself into battle, she wasn't even able to raise her voice against her father. This discovery destroyed her childhood in an instant. Ga-yoon locked herself in her dark burrow, a cave where no one was allowed to enter. The girl never left it for a moment; it was her safe zone. When she had any contact with her father, she looked at him differently. Ga-yoon kept her distance, knowing that if she played this game inappropriately, she would become a victim of his tyranny herself. The girl dared not say anything against Kenzou out loud. She was not the heroine of the story, Ga-yoon was merely an observer, a spectator who joined in too late to react appropriately. This silence, her silence, and lack of reaction became her greatest burden. Ga-yoon could have reacted, but she did not. She began to hate herself for it. Even her mirror reflection made the girl feel an inner disgust towards herself. Ga-yoon, while painting herself using a mirror given for her birthday by her mother, Yumi Jaibatsume, finally couldn't stand it. A ‚spider web’ appeared on the mirror. Ga-yoon deliberately cracked it.
Chapter 2 - The mask of nonchalance
After the traumatic discovery of the physical abuse that Ga-yoon discovered, her vision lay in ruins. The girl avoided her father and siblings, spending most of her time locked in her room. The only thing she sometimes did was help her mother when she asked for help with chores. Ga-yoon struggled to understand her new reality. However, life went on and school duties evolved due to her absence from school. Mee-young, despite her sufferings, continued her studies with determination. Her strength and perseverance were both an inspiration and a brutal reminder of her weakness to Ga-yoon. The girl was later filled with admiration when Mee-young fought against her monsters at school. Watching her sister, Ga-yoon realized that she had to find a way to survive in her new reality. The girl adopted a 'mask' of nonchalance - an apparent indifference designed to protect her fragile insides from further cracks. Ga-yoon's new attitude allowed her to hide her emotions, as well as giving her the illusion of strength and confidence. As time passed, Ga-yoon mastered this art to perfection. Her face was completely impassive from that point on. The mask of nonchalance became her shield, behind which she hid her fears and doubts. However, beneath the mask hid a deep wound that no one could heal.
Chapter 3 - The growing shadow of an ideal
Jade Jaibatsume was never Ga-yoon's favorite - but she wasn't an intruder to her even though she didn't share blood with her. However, that changed when Jade began to find herself better at home than Ga-yoon herself. Even Mee-young herself seemed to like Jade better. Moreover, the girl easily won the sympathy of the teachers. This hurt, but Ga-yoon couldn't admit it. Instead, the girl let jealousy turn into anger. Jade, the girl who shouldn't be here, fit in here better than Ga-yoon. She was closer to the ideal than she was - and she hated that. Ga-yoon decided to prevent this. Instead of trying to become the best version of herself, the girl preferred to make Jade worse. It all started with biting comments, questioning her value and place in the family, and ironic smiles that made every praise Jade received taste bitter. However, this was not enough for Ga-yoon. The girl was going to go one step further. It was going to have to hurt her. Before turning to violence, Ga-yoon was clipping her wings. Her belongings disappeared, her notes were destroyed, and she found hidden messages undermining her place in the family. Ga-yoon was telling Jade that they had found her in a dumpster and that her parents had left her. Yet despite this, Jade could only be harmed by Ga-yoon. When someone accosted her, the girl would stand up for her younger sister. Jade was her puppet to play with. Ga-yoon who was unable to stop her father from abusing Mee-young, who was just an observer without any control. But in her relationship with Jade, it was she who dictated the terms, she who decided how much pain Jade would receive. And surprisingly, Ga-yoon did not want to destroy her. Ga-yoon believed that if she had control over someone, she could stop further cracks in her mirror. However, hurting Jade was taking its toll on herself. Ga-yoon didn't want or couldn't admit that deep down she admired Jade. Her ego did not allow it. The girl preferred to hurt her instead.
Chapter 4 - Hollow Laughter
Ga-yoon and her sisters' father were murdered by Winter Jaibatsume herself. The news reached her quickly. Although she was distanced from her father after the event she had witnessed, his death triggered an avalanche of feelings in the girl that flooded her. Ga-yoon who had formed a mask of nonchalance could not use it this time. The girl was filled with chaos. The death of her father reminded her of everything, of the traumas and pain she had experienced. On the one hand, she wanted to be happy that the reason for her siblings' suffering was gone. However, on the other hand, she felt empty and lost. In a way, however, the girl had become like her father. The mask of nonchalance reappeared on her face and with it a loud laugh. Almost hysterical. Ga-yoon amid the gathered family members simply started laughing.
"So that's it then? So much mess, and the ending so trivial?"
Ga-yoon's reaction shocked the sisters who were abused by Kenzou. It was as if the girl was aware, and knew more than the rest. Her eyes, as cool as night-lit water, shone with nonchalance; there was no sadness, regret, or even satisfaction in her. The death of her father for the rest was a relief. For her, it was nothing, or at least that's how she tried to show it. Inside the girl was nevertheless boiling.
"Well, maybe at least we'll have peace." she uttered these words after which she simply left the meeting.

How does your character act around shrine grounds? How do they interact with guests and other staff?
Ga-yoon is an extremely difficult character to understand. Underneath her nonchalance are hidden reasons and secrets. However, even though the girl behaves coldly, sometimes even insensitively, she would treat her work with complete professionalism. Fact is, during her apprenticeship, there were some subversions like muzzling guests, but her mentor's supervision made Ga-yoon quickly understand not to repeat this if she wanted to become a maiden. However, the girl is not afraid to point out mistakes to those above her. The best example of her behavior was scolding Maiden Miss Amai while she, herself, was only an intern. Ga-yoon had a valid reason for doing so; Maiden caused her sister to run away from Shrine with tears when Miss Amai acted like a wild animal. Literally. Ga-yoon's firm, even fearful gaze caused Miss Amai to obediently apologize to her sister.
A perfect example of how Ga-yoon would behave towards guests is the tea ceremony, which was an examination of her apprenticeship. As you have noticed for yourself, Ga-yoon usually never lets her emotions get the upper hand, making her do her job almost perfectly. Her familiar mask of nonchalance only enhances this. Even though her guests were her family at the ceremony, Ga-yoon was incredibly calm and handled herself almost perfectly, thus passing her test as an intern.
You see a guest jumping around the roofs of the building and overall disrespecting shrine grounds, how would your character handle it?
Ga-yoon, despite her nonchalance, would treat her job and the temple with due respect. If she saw someone besmirching the temple grounds, she wouldn't get carried away one bit. A girl with a lazy, ice-cold gaze, with her hands in the pockets of her kimono, would have stopped in place to observe the intruder for a moment. If a mere glance winded with coldness that would scare off even the bravest would not be enough, she would approach slowly and in a bored tone speak up.
"Do you realize that this place is not a playground? If you fancy acrobatics, get out into the trees in the forest."
If the person ignored her, Ga-yoon was not going to repeat herself. She had warned that person, she had done her job. She would get straight to the point.
"If you don't stop, I'll put you on the blacklist. Get out, pest."
Depending on whether the person obeyed or not, she would most likely just do what she threatened. Ga-yoon is strict and is not going to wait around like an idiot. However, if the person tried to provoke her, it would look a little different. The girl would show incredible composure, not intending to lose control of the situation or herself. Without showing anger or nervousness, she would throw in a sarcastic comment that might make the intruder feel stupid.
"Impressive. You do know that breaking a leg in the temple doesn't automatically give you a blessing, right?"
For Jaibatsume, the most important thing is to keep her face. She doesn't allow herself to react impulsively, but she also wouldn't let anyone push her around or her workplace.
Why does your character want to become a shrine maiden/priest? What do they wish to achieve?
Ga-yoon Jaibatsume is not a typical candida. Although she is driven by her faith, she is not driven by a desire to serve others. Her motivation is very complicated; the temple is a place of peace and order, where everything works around certain rules and schedules. Without the chaos of her childhood.
Although she would never admit it, the girl feels a huge emptiness and is looking for something to give her life meaning. In Shrine, she sees opportunities to gain control over her surroundings, which makes her comfortable. She doesn't crave spiritual enlightenment, just stability. She wants to prove that she can find her place in Karakura, despite how some of her family doubted it. In addition, she sees the shrine work as an opportunity for change - since she finished her internship, her life has changed. She was no longer such a cruel person towards others.
What are the core values of your character? (OPTIONAL - MORE INFO IN FAQ)
Control
I don't think much needs to be said about this. Her backstory explains why she craves control so much. The girl hates the feeling of powerlessness, so she wants to be in control of everything at all costs. She downright hates it when something gets out of her control.
Independence
Ga-yoon doesn't want to be seen as someone weak. She tells herself and others that she is doing great on her own. Even if she isn't.
Pride
She will never admit her mistake unless it is about work. She will not show weakness, and she will not beg for mercy. A girl would rather burn bridges than let someone think someone broke her.
